Beautiful setting, comfortable suite

  • 4 of 5

This was a nice roomy suite for a weekend away visiting our student at PSU. The suite was clean, comfortable and there was plenty of room to relax and visit. The fridge was stocked with soda, coffee and snacks, making it very nice when we arrived from our 4-hour trip. The host/hostess were friendly and accommodating. The reason I give it a 4 is the driving distance to PSU. It took anywhere from 25-30 minutes to arrive at East Parking Deck. Other then that it was a lovely get away in the country.

Beautiful home/suite, wonderful scenery, great get-away!

  • 5 of 5

The in-law suite was immaculate and was fully equipped to meet our needs for our weekend getaway. Home owners (Cathy and Dan) greeted us when we arrived and went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. If you are looking for a quiet, safe, fully equipped suite near State College, this location should be on the top of your list! D&W

A comfortable, mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect getaway location, yet is still convenient to the bustling world of State College. As beach bums, we & our dog thoroughly enjoyed the change in scenery. There are easy trails through the woods for walking, & a spacious, comfortable patio for relaxing. Nearby family joined us for dinners now & then, & our 5 year old grandson loved toasting marshmallows over a fire pit fire. Cathy was a very accommodating hostess & helped make our stay extremely carefree. The suite itself was conveniently laid out & appointed, clean, & very much a home away from home. We took a trip to Black Moshannon State Park, Delgrosso's Amusement & Water Park, & enjoyed bowling with our grandson plus a couple of meals out. It's nice to have so many choices of activity in one place. We hated to leave this lovely spot, & have hopes that we may get back again. If you are looking to leave the world behind, but not too far, this is the place for you!

Beautiful, homey and a must for stargazers

  • 5 of 5

In October, 2015 my husband and I spent two delightful weeks with Cathy and Dan Moore. The in-law quarters (with separate entrance) were clean and beautifully decorated in a very homey style. Cathy and Dan were delightful hosts. They anticipated or accommodated our needs and those of our pet Beagle in every way. Fresh sheets and towels, home baked cookies and home made jam added to our experience. They were available and helpful whenever we needed them but were unobtrusive and discrete so that we felt we were on vacation instead of visiting. Their home is situated in a mountainous area where neighbors are a distance away so it is very quiet during the day and dark at night. At first this was unsettling to us city folks but then we discovered the delights of mountain living. I saw the Milky Way for the first time in my life and so many stars! So take your star chart if you are interested in constellations. With no city lights or noises it was easy to fall asleep and wake rested. We saw deer quite a few times while driving up or down their driveway. State College and Bellefonte were close by (maybe 10 miles) so it was easy for us to do what we needed to do on a daily basis. We would highly recommend these accommodations and would stay again given the opportunity.
