Amazing cabin & spectacular views

  • 5 of 5

What a privilege it was to stay here! Authentic log cabin with all the modern can tell the owners put a lot of thought into every detail to make our stay a memorable one. We were just looking for a relaxing weekend getaway and we just happened upon Jimmy and Lynn's cabin by accident....but will most certainly be back on purpose!!! We appreciate the personal touch we experienced in every aspect of this weekend from getting to meet Jimmy & Lynn, having Lynn take the time when we arrived to walk us through everything on the property, telling us the history of the cabin and its furnishings, letting us know about the places to eat and things we could do in the area. It really was like we had come to visit an old friend. The cabin, waterfalls and the views are absolutely amazing. Nothing like watching the sunset overlooking a secluded valley, with the mountains stretching as far as you can see into the distance, along with the sights and sounds of the waterfall(s)....not sure it gets any better. Thanks to our hosts Jimmy and Lynn....we had a wonderful time and enjoyed all the special touches this cabin and property had to offer. See you both very soon!!! Joe & Torrey B.

Very quaint cabin

  • 3 of 5

The place was clean and quaint. Lynn and Jim made us feel so welcomed and were very helpful in directing us to Falls Creek Falls to view the eclipse. The cabin was well stocked with essentials. The cherry floors in the living area are stunning as is the large shower. The location is very quiet with a nice view of the bluffs and valley. This cabin is fine for a couple or couple with kids 7+. The loft bed with ladder access would be problematic if you're traveling with toddlers. It would have scored higher if the bedrooms would be private. We were supposed to have another couple join us for a night but that fell through. It would have been awkward since the access to the second bed loft is in the master bedroom as is the only bathroom.

Owner's Response: Dear Gwynn, We want to thank you for choosing Hemlock Falls for your stay during the 2017 Eclipse. To address some of your concerns; We have a child policy minimum age limit of 12yrs and older clearly stated in our short term rental agreement that you read and signed. We graciously made a exception for your 7 yr old because of the once in a lifetime total solar eclipse. Would not have caused your family to miss that for the world ! Your original booking stated two adults, NO children. As for the location of the upstairs loft, bedroom, and bathroom, the written listing and pictures clearly show and state the layout of the cabin. Maybe you did not read the listing or look at the pics or fully read the rental policy before booking / signing ? You stated in your review that the cabin was clean, and admired several things about the cabin as have all our other guests. You also stated as have others the views and your stay were great. The sad part here is you applied hypothetical scenarios to give Hemlock Falls a 3 star review when none of these applied to your vacation. We are very happy and confident in our 100% 5 star reviews from our 55 previous guests. Again Gwynn, so happy that you chose Hemlock Falls for the once in a lifetime view of the total solar eclipse.

Perfect!! Excalty what we were looking for!

  • 5 of 5

As all the other reviews have mentioned, this is the perfect place to go to relax and enjoy time with the family. My wife, two teenage daughters and our three year old all had a great time as well. The view was perfect! The temperature was around 10 degrees cooler than in the valley which made for awesome mornings and evenings outside. It was a nice break from the summer heat! The cabin was well equipped and exceptionally clean. Mrs Lynn had even put some Lincoln logs and a small chair in the cabin for our baby girl! The older girls loved the loft bedroom and beautiful bathroom! The waterfall outside was relaxing and the lot is huge and very private. We had a hard time deciding if we wanted to stay inside or out as both were exceptionally nice! I can't recommend this place enough and we are looking forward to heading back this fall for another stay!

Absolutely Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I cannot adequately describe this cabin. Lynn has decorated it perfectly. The view is beyond beautiful. The creek with a small waterfall is peaceful. Lynn made sure we were aware of the many activities available to us. Sadly, we did not have enough time. I recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a peaceful, restful vacation. I cannot wait to come back!!
