While the unit was in an excellent location to everything we wanted to do(one star), it was a completely frustrating experience. STAYALFRED's customer service is awful. We arrived at a unit that did not appear like in the pictures, it was more weathered; stained carpet, missing blind slat, broken ac unit. Since we usually do not spend a lot of time in the unit while on vacation it was not a huge deal until the 2nd night when we arrived back at 930 pm to find two extremely loud parties going on in the building; one below us and one down the hall. Garbage was strewn out down the hall. It was like being in a night club. I called to complain and was told that they would call the building manager. Nothing changed. I called back an hour later to be told that those posted times were for their guests not necessarily a requirement of the building and that Boston had an ordinance of 11 pm, that I should call back then, which was approximately 20 minutes later. At that time I complained about the ac unit. Nothing happened. In the morning I called back again and requested to be reimbursed for the previous nights stay and repeated my request to have a late check out. I was told a manager didn't get in until later and that someone would call me back in 24 hours. The ac got fixed that day while we were gone but I did not receive a call from anyone. I called back the next morning and was told that she would look into it and call me back. She did call me back shortly later and told me she would refund me the one night's stay. She told me she would email me about the late check out. Again...nothjing. I called back again in the morning 1 -1/2hour before we were supposed to be checked out and was told again that they were Seattle and therefore 3 hours behind us, that was why. I'm sorry but if you are renting units across the US and state you have 24 hour customer service, that is not an acceptable answer. She told me that StayAlfred's call back timeframe expectation is 24 -48 hours. First of all 48 hours would have been 1/2 my stay time. Second of all, unfortunately because we did not receive notice until 1 - 1/2 hour before check out time my family was not able to do what we wanted to do on the last day. I WOULD NEVER STAY AT A STAYALFRED FACILITY AGAIN.

Great location. Easy in and out. Cute and functional.

  • 3 of 5

The location is amazing, especially when the Celtics or Bruins are in season. Easy to get in and out, big patio and plenty of living space. Two bathrooms are a huge plus.

Here is where the review turns a bit. A/C broke twice during trip and we sweated like crazy and got very little sleep. They fixed it and then a day later it broke again.

Beds are lumpy / have indentions worn into them. Furniture in both bedrooms is oversized for the space, so getting around in the room is a bit of a challenge.

Great space for family visiting Boston

  • 5 of 5

Clean, modern, well-furnished apartment located minutes from The Garden, Charlestowne and the North End. My family of 4 was very comfortable in this great space. We saw a Celtics game literally across the street, walked to Charlestown to see the Constitution, walked to the North End for great meals, and had access to other parts of Boston via the North End T station, literally beneath the building. Really appreciated the controlled access as a managed property. Only minor complaints - a couple of lighting issues. All else very well done. We would use this unit again.

Good location, well cared for, comfortable

  • 4 of 5

This property is exactly as shown in photos. It was clean, spacious, well appointed, and conveniently located. The North Station for the T is right next door, and there are many bars, restaurants, and convenience stores located within a four-block radius. We were also within easy walking distance to North End bakeries and restaurants and Quincy Marketplace. Beds were comfortable, and having two bathrooms was a plus. In the minus column, one issue was the street noise. On our first night, it was not a problem, but on the second night, there was a game at TD Garden, and the honking and yelling/talking/laughter was non-stop for a few hours. The only other issue was the lack of parking. We ended up parking at the Government Center (short walking distance) but paid $70 dollars for the two nights. If you don't have a car, obviously not a concern. That said, we would stay here again.
