After hiking the Smokies for many years I discovered the Bryson City / Deep Creek area in 2012 and fell in love with it so much I decided to relocate here. Found my dream home which included a guest house which I have decided to rent out part time. Absolutely love all the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.
Michael Davis purchased this barn in 2013
At 3000 feet elevation this place has beautiful views of the mountains and spectacular sunsets. The central location to rafting, boating, hiking and Bryson City couldn't be better.
In less than 20 minutes or less you can get to Nantahala National Forest hiking, Fontana Reservoir boating / fishing, trout fishing in numerous creeks, kayaking / rafting at the Nantahala river, Smoky Mountain National Park hiking / tubing at Deep Creek and lots of fun activities and good food / drinks in Bryson City.
We had to reschedule due to hurricane Matthew, and Michael was the best to work with! Great guy, 5 stars no doubt!!
Everything was clean and neat. Cozy little hideaway. Quick trip to Bryson City and surrounding areas. Owner was nice and helpful, the dog was adorable
The barn was clean, comfortable and in a nice location convenient to our favorite fall foliage venues. Michael was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our late October stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Michael's cottage in Bryson City. It was well supplied with everything one might need. The beds were comfortable which was a big plus. Michael is a delightful host. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and was very helpful with info about what to see in the Bryson City area. We highly recommend Alarka cabin guest house!
The owner is so fantastic! He was friendly and very welcoming. He even joined me for a beer on his beautiful patio. I will forever book his place when I am in town.
I highly recommend it. And it was very close to the smoky mountain railway, which is awesome.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The listing discription was accurate. The place had everything we needed and more. Michael and his dog Maci came out to greet us the morning after we got there as we were leaving to go to Bryson City for the Chili cookoff and to ride on the Smoky Mountain Train. He was very nice and said if there was anything we needed that wasn't there to just come up to see him. The ride going up to the cabin was beautiful. I especially loved the valley with the cows on the side of the mountain.. A really peaceful place... We hope to visit you again....Thanks Michael Pat and Glenda
