About Michael Davis

After hiking the Smokies for many years I discovered the Bryson City / Deep Creek area in 2012 and fell in love with it so much I decided to relocate here. Found my dream home which included a guest house which I have decided to rent out part time. Absolutely love all the beautiful scenery and outdoor activities.

Michael Davis purchased this barn in 2013

Perfect conversion of an historic barn into a cozy guest house!!!

  • 5 of 5

The road up to the barn cabin is a winding mountain road with beautiful scenery. The cabin is quaint and tastefully decorated. Comfortable and cozy with a well equipped kitchen. We fell in love with this place. I would challenge you to find a better host than Mike, and as a bonus, he has wonderful neighbors. We loved sitting on the back deck and listening to the small stream as the sun went down. Definitely staying on our list of favorite places to stay in this area!!!

Wonderful host and cozy cabin at a great value!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this cabin. We stayed for our honeymoon and it was comfortable and cozy with a stunning mountain view from the porches. The best part of our stay however was our amazing host Michael Davis. He had a fruit basket with a variety of welcoming gifts and a card waiting for us when we got there. He also gave us tons of information on different trails in the area. We enjoyed getting to know him while we were there. He was a very kind and generous host. We stayed a few other places while we were in the area and this was by far our favorite. We already can't wait to come back! Thanks Davi!

Great

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time. This little cabin had everything we needed for our stay. It was not as secluded as we had hoped, but still private enough where it felt like we were secluded. The owner was very nice and was able to give us details of some local hiking trails that were gorgeous. I would come back and stay again.

Nice cool weather

  • 5 of 5

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Alarka Cabin Guest House. Michael, as well as neighbors Patti and Noel, made every effort to ensure that that my stay was a pleasant experience. Michael provided me with some fresh vegetables from the garden and Patti brought homemade spaghetti sauce and soup. Everyone that I met up there on the mountain was extremely nice. My goal was to escape the heat in Mobile, AL for a while and I found the weather up there to be most pleasant.

Terrific Rental - Exactly What We Were Looking For!

  • 5 of 5

This place was perfect for our Father/Son vacation. Tucked away off a quiet mountain road, the property is ideally located just minutes away from terrific hiking, tubing, and rafting adventures. The cabin has all the essentials you need and an internet connection to stay in touch with friends/family. But best of all, Michael mades us feel completely welcome during our stay and ensured we informed with all the area attractions. We long forward to returning as soon as possible.
