About Owner/property manager
We are native Californians, and have enjoyed the beauty of Southern California for many years. Living in San Diego, we have many options for recreation, but there is nothing like getting up in the mountains and seeing the natural beauty of 100+ year old oak trees, observing the wildlife, playing in the snow in winter, and enjoying the undeveloped, majestic beauty of the Palomar Mountain State Park and Cleveland National Forest. We love it here on Palomar Mountain.
Owner/property manager purchased this Chateau / Country House in 2011
Why Owner/property manager chose Palomar Mountain
Palomar Vista Lodge was previously known as Celestial Gardens. A wonderful woman lived here and she had made every effort to enjoy and share with others the natural beauty of the property, including developing hiking trails, view points, and relaxing seating areas that showcased its wonderful character. We have tried to rekindle Colleen's spirit and vision for Palomar Vista Lodge, and our friends find it to be a true island in the sky, where your worries float away and your spirits are invigorated.
What makes this Chateau / Country House unique
We love the southern views, the large deck out back, the peace and quiet of a mountain home nestled amongst the trees, and the beauty of the wildlife we see on a daily basis. The home is large enough for multiple families, yet still feels comfortable and offers many options. Multiple decks, hammocks on the lawn and swinging from the oak trees, plenty of places to relax and unwind.

Winter Holiday Vacation
This property is amazing! Our group had 6 adults and 7 children, and everyone had a wonderful time. The house is very spacious with a lot of room to spread out. The backyard is huge. We were able to go sledding on the property which was a huge bonus. We definitely hope to visit again.
Michael was excellent and his place/property just as amazing.
Got over a foot of snow on Christmas and all had our first white Christmas an hour from home! Sledded down large sections, snowball fights, snow angels and of course a snowman family.
The house was perfect for our multi family stay. Fires in multiple rooms, blackjack, ping pong, kids room sleepovers, elaborate meals in the fully stocked kitchen, and good ol fashioned conversation around the kitchen table.
Couldn’t endorse this place enough. If Michael would allow us we might make this an annual tradition. :)
Thanksgiving weekend 11/28/19 to 12/1/19
We drove to Palomar Mountain on Thursday 28 th through snow showers. Michael had provided a Welcome Package several days before with all the instructions to the property and amenities. On Friday, we had a lot of snow. Michael went out of his to check with his neighbors and find a snow plow. The driveway was plowed and that allowed several of the family members to make it up to the property. Saturday and Sunday was wonderful with snow all around. The property is well stocked, with 2 kitchens, 2 refrigerators, plenty of cutlery and other utensils for 16 of us. We had no problem cooking. There is a pool /ping pong table combo , plenty of games as well as washer and dryer. The rooms were great with 2 masters sized bedrooms with bathrooms. The layout with 2 lounges was plenty for 16 adults. Thanks to Michael, our family had a good time.
Amazing view. Refreshing weekend away.
The deck, jacuzzi, view, and ponds make it a perfect place to get away and relax. Check-in process is very simple and house in great shape. Although there were a few items missing in the kitchen, the property manager was very responsive and remedied things immediately. Although kitchen and dining room were somewhat tight for our group of 14 adults, the warmth of the house and view mean we will be back!
The property was wonderful for my group! We can’t wait to come back!
better than the pictures!
we had a lovely, comfortable stay. i look forward to recommending this property to friends in the future!
