Gorgeous house with an absolutely stunning view.

The house is beautifully designed, immaculately cared for and well located for access to the Snaefellsness Peninsula as well as to Reykjavik. The sunsets are spectacular.

Great Spot to View Aurora Borealis

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in February for three nights. It is a great spot to see Aurora Borealis and we were able to get some nice photographs. The owners were kind enough to tell us how to shut down the automatic outside lights so we could better view the Northern Lights.

Property was clean, well stocked and had very nice views. There was only two of us so we only used the downstairs. TV was located upstairs in a loft area. Even though it was quite cold the cabin was nice and warm. It is not a large cabin and is very compact with good design and very nicely decorated. Downstairs bed quite comfortable.

If you have trouble with balance or lifting, you could have trouble with the steep path that goes down from the parking spot to the cabin. That's the only real issue we had while staying there with having to cart luggage up and down the path. It could be problematic for seniors and anyone with a health issue. Inside the cabin, there are two steps down to the main floor bedroom, then two steps down to the mud room, then two steps up to the bathroom. We managed quite well, but important information for anyone with mobility issues.

Property owners seem very concerned about guest service and we were very pleased.

If you are after a beautiful view and solitude, you will not be disappointed here. Since I own and also manage a total of 23 cabins, I have some guest experience and may be a little more critical in my reviews than most people.

OVER THE TOP PERFECT !!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband & I spent five days this past January in this perfectly appointed, heavenly located, lovingly decorated and cared for home! We are cooks and were thrilled to find a fantastic kitchen that was stocked with great quality pots and pans, beautiful plates and glassware of all types, candles and tea lights to create mood, and a great coffee machine to make our morning (and afternoon!) cappucinos! There is a great farmers market and grocer in the town five minutes away, stunning drives, adventures, hot springs and day trips that we took, and a great public hot pool in Borganes that we loved. But the best part of every day was sitting at home in the midst of the beauty and serentity and quality and great energy of this house. We spent two of our five days at home reading and staring out the windows over the fjord. Those were our favorite days! We even saw Northern Lights on the first night that we arrived! Kristinn was a perfect host who greeted us, showed us around, and gave us great suggestions and insights into the local area. I recommend this house to anyone who appreciates and savors the finer things in life. You won't be let down. It's heaven on earth! We WILL be returning for sure!

Just wonderful

  • 5 of 5

The photos exactly reflect reality. this house is totally fantastic, every detail has been thought. The house was sparkling clean, and all necessary equipements are there. We are a couple with two little girls and it's the ideal house for our family.

Around the house, there are many excursions: glaciers, craters, fjords...

Thanks a lot to Kristinn and his wife with your excellent advices and suggestions of trip near to the house.

Now, we wish one thing: come back in this house during winter for Aurora borealis!!

Super !

We had a wonderful stay in this very nice and quiet house, close to Barganes. The first night was snowy and we discovered an astonishing landscape surrounding this spot in the morning. This house is very comfortable, well equiped and decorated. We really loved our stay here...
