Perfect for our family

  • 5 of 5

My family of four (and one dog) stayed here Memorial Day weekend and had a lovely time. It’s always a nice surprise when the cabin turns out even better than what the pictures present. Some of the previous reviews were older reviews. The owner has since updated things such as the TVs. This cabin would have no problem accommodating two families. We didn’t even use the beds upstairs (There were an additional five beds that would be perfect for kids). The cabin has some basic seasonings but we didn’t see any cooking oil so I would bring your own. The owner Laurie was very helpful and always quick to respond. The hot tub might have been my favorite part of the cabin. Turn off the lights and enjoy the starry skies!

This was my first time in Sunriver and I didn’t know what to expect. It is a perfect getaway for families. If it’s your first time, I would strongly suggest looking at a map to see how the community is laid out as well as how to access various attractions via the biking paths. It is very bike friendly with something like 40 miles of paved bike trails. We will bring bikes for sure the next time we go. Our two boys are younger than three so we mostly stuck to the SHARQ water park which was an easy walk from the cabin. The SHARQ passes provided by the owner is a huge plus. The village is a bit further away but still walkable if you are up for it. Definitely an easy bike ride.

Looking forward to future vacations there! There were so many activities we didn’t get a chance to check out.

Fathers day weekend

  • 5 of 5

Pros-We had a wonderful time over Father day weekend at the property. The description is very accurate, and the house was in great shape. It had a kind of rustic feel to it, and it was well maintained. Perfect for a family with kids and pets. We would definitely stay there again. The (newer)hot tub was wonderful and very relaxing. SHARQ passes were a great benefit!

The owner was great and very easy to deal with although they are not set up to pay through the VRBO site, everything went off without a hitch.

Cons- No garage, and the 2-TV's and DVD player were very small and outdated (but then again, you're in Sunriver and you should be outside anyway)

Perfect for our family!

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of room for 2 families. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and never felt cramped. The owner was very fast to respond to any questions we had. It's a short bike ride to SHARC, and we used the passes every day. The description of the house is very accurate. Nothing fancy, but comfortable and clean. We will definitely be back!

Great Family Vacation Rental

  • 4 of 5

This was a great family vacation rental. We had 4 adults and 4 kids, 2 families. Plenty of beds for everyone, good space to come together on the deck or at the dining room table, but also enough room to find your own space. The kids sure enjoyed the foosball table upstaris. Great location! Just a quick bike ride away from the SHARC and a nice ride to the Village and the Lodge. All the amentities you need. What a great value that 8 SHARC passes came with the rental. We would recommend this rental and stay again.

nothing fancy

  • 4 of 5

So our family of 4 rented this cabin and had a nice long weekend in Sun River. The weather was beautiful and we had many relaxing hours on the back deck. We had a great time at SHARC, which is in walking distance. The cabin was very spacious and the setting was nice and quiet. There were some things that would have made our stay more comfortable, however. In other VRBO rentals, we have appreciated when they have been stocked with shampoo, conditioner, napkins, sun screen, and even a junk drawer where I could find a pen, paper, or maybe take out menus of local eateries. This place did not have any of those conveniences that I was able to find. It was kind of a typical 1970s or 1980s style and has not really been updated. I would have preferred a little bit cleaner of a place, but for the price it was OK. We had issues with some light bulbs being out. We have young kids, and my guess is that the upstairs balcony banisters are not up to code -- they are spaced very far apart and even with the yellow "caution tape" it made us a little nervous. Also, for little kids, the hot water heater seems to be set too hot -- the water got really got really fast. Overall, we did enjoy our stay.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your review! It helps us to know what we can do better! I'm sorry that you found some things less than perfect. As the last renter at the very end of a completely-booked summer, the light bulbs, supplies, and dirty carpet issues are understandable, but still not okay. The cabin is developing such a following that it has been hard to find a time to get into it myself. I will start blocking out a few days mid-summer, to get these things taken care of. As for the bigger issues you bring up, you are a very perceptive renter! The hot water heater was producing COLD water earlier in the summer. With the house totally booked until now, we could not get in to get it replaced. It would make hot water if turned up a little too high. Better than cold. New water heater is ordered and will be installed this month. You are right, the railings around the loft are not up to today's codes. They are up to the codes at the time the cabin was built, and we could leave them, but that isn't good enough for me! A fix for the problem has already been planned, bid, and will begin this week. Again, thanks for your useful comments. Please come back again!
