About the property

Quiet Neighborhood, Perfect for a Family with a Screened Porch

Mariner's Cottage is your cozy and welcoming oasis within Savannah's moss-draped Landmark Historic District.

Newly restored and thoughtfully furnished with local antiques and art, you will feel like you stepped into a magazine. Restaurants, pubs and groceries are within walking distance. In Troup Square, just a block and half away, enjoy a picnic or glass of wine. Park your car in your dedicated off-street space and spend the rest of your time on foot exploring the lanes, mansions, and hidden courtyards of beautiful Savannah.

Step inside Mariner’s Cottage and enjoy the open plan that flows from the welcoming living room to the dining area with a rustic farm table that seats six. The fully-equipped kitchen is stocked with coffees, teas, spices and cooking oil. A door from the kitchen leads to your private covered-and-screened porch as well as the serene courtyard, complete with cafe table and landscape lighting. Rain or shine, enjoy your morning coffee or your evening glass of sweet tea or white wine outside.

The main bedroom is complete with a queen bed, two nightstands, a large closet and the beautifully appointed bathroom with a tub/shower combination and a stacked clothes washer and dryer. Adjacent to the living room is a bonus room featuring two built-in twin beds, perfect for kids or two adults. This room is also a great 'get-away' spot for reading or napping during the day.

Fluffy towels and high-quality bed linens are provided, as well as bath soaps, lotion, shampoo, and conditioner. With a hair dryer, iron, and ironing board you have everything you need. The newly-installed A/C system will keep you comfortable no matter what is happening outside.

We hope you will love our delightful Mariner’s Cottage as much as we do. Come experience Savannah like a local.

Every major event in US history touched the city. Visit a Revolutionary War Battlefield and the house Gen. Sherman occupied during the Civil War.

Used as the location of many major motion pictures (Forrest Gump, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Something to Talk About, etc.), it is now the location of the Savannah Film Festival every fall. And in the spring is the Savannah Music Festival.

This place was clean and comfortable and within walking distance of restaurants

  • 4 of 5

Our group was 4 women friends. The only downside of this property is that it is slightly inside a neighborhood with broken glass and trash in the streets and yards. We did feel perfectly safe here. The property itself was clean and neat with a screen porch in the back that we enjoyed using. We had a rental car that we used to take to the beach one day as well as to a couple of restaurants that were not within walking distances. There were plenty of good restaurants within walking distance as well as shops and the historic squares. I would definitely recommend this property when visiting Savannah.

Wonderful Savannah cottage

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I spent 2 nights in this cottage and it was perfect.......really. We have stayed in numerous VRBO rentals, as well as the 'other one', and this was by far one of the top 2. The features that are important to me were there: location - easy walking to wherever; parking - a few steps away; furnishings - tasteful, in great condition, very comfortable bed, nicely decorated; linens - high quality; kitchen - beautiful new appliances and new pots, pans, silverware etc., pantry items which made cooking much easier; communication/check-in - easy, smooth, no issues; cleanliness - met my high standards.

This cottage could accommodate a small family but was just perfect for the 2 of us.

Thank you Janet. I wish all our "stays" were as great as this one.

PS: Savannah is a great little city!

Spent 3 nights at Mariner's Cottage. The location is great and includes parking. That was key! We were able to walk to everywhere we wanted to go and not worry about the car. The house was well equipped and we enjoyed the screened-in porch every morning and evening. Only negative is the one bathroom being located in the master bedroom. It was a little awkward for those staying in the 2nd bedroom to access. But I would definitely rent this place again. Owners were very easy to communicate with and check-in/check-out was a breeze.

Compact, but just what we needed

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for two nights this past April--my husband and I with our two young children (ages 4 and 8). It was a great location from which to explore Savannah, and the kids loved the house, too. The house looks just as pictured.

We did not use the kitchen for cooking, but it was very well-stocked. The only thing that is not 100% apparent from the pictures and the description (although perhaps it was, and I just did not read thoroughly) is that the bathroom is accessible through the master/main bedroom. This was not really a problem for us, but it might not be a great set-up for everyone.
