Why Kim Koagedal chose Sonoma County

You can’t possibly get bored in Sonoma! While Sonoma County is most famous for its wineries, it’s also a good place to take in the great outdoors of Northern California. Sonoma County’s mild climate and breathtaking landscape make it an ideal location for experiencing the outdoors from Redwood forest hikes in Armstrong Grove, coastal kayaking at Bodega Bay, or picturesque bike rides through the Valley of the Moon. There are many activities beyond the obvious ones. Want to see the big picture? Soar above the valley in a vintage bi-plane at the Sonoma Valley Airport. Do you have an urge to get behind the wheel of a racecar, try the world class Sonoma Raceway?

If you are not an adrenalin junky maybe an educational vineyard tour is more your speed. There is no lack of options when is comes to wine and food. You could consider a cooking or even cheese making class if that is how you want to expand your horizons? But if the big view is what you are looking for, hikers will appreciate the many trails up into the hills where you are rewarded with spectacular views all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. Or, dig into book you’ve been meaning to read and cozy up by the fire and enjoy our view across the Valley of the Moon.

Whatever you end up doing be it wine, food, and other fun, most likely it will be move than can be done in a weekend, so go ahead and book a full week!

Perfect home

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed in this beautiful house twice, for a week each time, and all six of us found it not just extremely comfortable, but a delightful place to come home to at the end of the day. It's very beautiful, well furnished and well equipped, and spacious. The master bedroom in particular is a dream suite, but the two bedrooms below are very nice as well. I really can't think of anything to say about it but praise.

Unbelievable house!!!

  • 4 of 5

Wow - What an awesome house! So many fabulous things to say about it - very clean, beautiful decor, wonderful beds and linens, beautiful views, fully stocked kitchen - everything was better than I could have imagined. Most places don't look better than the pictures but this place really did! Kim was wonderful - there to greet us with a wine and cheese platter and orient us to the house and many of it cool features. This house had everything a family on vacation could possibly need from the entertainment systems to luxury bathroom products. It kills me not to give it 5 stars because it WAS so awesome - but to be fair in the review I must address the issue we had with the air conditioning - it just was not efficient for the house and the master bath had no AC vent and stayed very hot. Despite the air being serviced after we phoned Kim, the air conditioner just could not cool to a comfortable temperature. It was unfortunate for us there record high temps in Sonoma during our stay. I would absolutely stay in this house again as well as recommending it to my friends. I would just choose to go during a cooler time of year and it would be perfect! And I mean perfect!!

Fantastic Property!

  • 5 of 5

We had a great vacation at the 'Modern Sonoma' house. The views were spectacular and the house was very spacious and relaxing. Kim is a great host and the house was furnished with everything we could possible need. We were in the area visiting wine country and celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary with our family. The indoor and outdoor spaces were comfortable and well used by our group. Thank you for a great place for our celebration!

Unbelievable Trip

  • 5 of 5

If I could give it 6 stars I would. This was an AMAZING house to stay in. We took 4 couples for 5 days/4 nights and just had a great time at Kim's place. We spent 2 full days in Napa and 1 in Sonoma, and the house was such a perfect place to come to and relax. 30 minutes from anywhere we went. The open layout was perfect for people to be in the kitchen, relax on the couch to watch TV, or sit outside next to the fire pit. Kim was great to work with, communicated very well at all stages of the planning. All of the amenities of the house made us feel right at home. I will have a hard time staying any where else. Thanks Kim!

Excellent Rental!!

  • 5 of 5

This house was great! The views, the layout and the interior were all what I expected and more. We had no issues with the house and Kim was quick to respond when contacted. I loved the firepit and master bedroom. We will definitely look for this house next time in Sonoma.

Thanks again Kim!

Above and beyond in every way!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned home after staying in Kim’s incredible rental property. We’ve stayed in several VRBO/HomeAway properties in the past, and this was our best experience yet. Kim was a helpful, gracious hostess, meeting us on the first day to explain everything, treating us with wine and cheese, and always available by phone or text. It is definitely a luxury property — she has thought of every single thing to make it comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed all that came with the rental — fully stocked kitchen and bar, hot tub, sound system, TV/DVR/streaming system, gas fireplace, high-end furniture, comfortable beds, shampoo/conditioner/shower gel, even robes to wear while there and slippers for trips to the hot tub, air conditioning for warm days, patios for cool nights, and unbelievable views and sunsets. It was a great location, too … not in the Sonoma Square so it was quiet, but one-hour or less driving to everywhere including San Fran, several coastal beaches, Muir Woods, Sausalito/Tiburon, Armstrong Redwoods, hiking all around the Sonoma area, all Napa and Sonoma wineries and towns. Not sure how we’ll ever top this!
