I grew up in a historic home built in the 1840's. I love history. During my life I have restored several properties. I fell in love with this one recently. A number of years ago we moved to a ranch near Fredericksburg because it has the best of our favorite things. Quality of life, history, antiques, wineries, music, golf and a good airport. We are enjoying sharing this with new friends.
My husband and I got away for the weekend and we had a wonderful time! We stayed in the smokhaus & enjoyed it's charm. Betsy was so prompt to respond. We appreciated that!
betsy was great in preparation of our accommodation. before we got there she contacted me and answered all my questions.
during our stacy was awesome! she was warm, friendly, hospitable and made things happen. she was very knowledgeable about the town and had great recommendations. they make a good team.
the barn had ample space and had great privacy. fantastic for weekend getaways.
My husband and I booked this location for a 2-night stay after Christmas. We thoroughly enjoyed Christmastime in Fredericksburg. The property is quaint, clean, and extremely convenient and walkable for a ton of shopping, eating, and local spots. I was impressed with Betsy's customer service. Like several other reviewers, she pulled together a list of venues with live music scheduled to make our stay more enjoyable. We will be recommending this VRBO to friends and family! (PS: The king bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on!)
We stayed at this property for a few nights in November. It was fine, but it smelled a little musty and apparently there was an infestation of ladybugs. I was also confused, because we paid a $xx cleaning fee, and a $xx pet cleaning fee on top of that, however it was required that we leave the place clean and even wash our own dishes. On top of that, the floor had clearly not been cleaned from the last time a pet had been there, so it seemed like a large amount of cleaning fees for not much return. Obviously we wouldn't leave the place trashed, but I was surprised they required we even wash the dishes, and was afraid if we didn't we wouldn't get our security deposit back!
Other than that, I can't complain. The hostess was amazingly friendly. There's no tv in this rental, so she even offered use of a future rental in case we wanted to watch tv, which was incredibly nice. Everything worked fine, it was a cute setup, and it's in a good location. If you're not hyper-sensitive about cleaning, like me, I would definitely recommend this rental.
5 stars across the board. Betsy and Stacie are amazing. We will be returning undoubtedly!
We had a great time staying here! It was nice and clean, plenty of room for a weekend getaway, and Betsy offered to find us plenty of evening entertainment. A few things I would want someone to know who's staying here is: 1. It's very hard to see from the street, so pull in the driveway to the right of the yellow 2 story house, it's behind there. Also, the street goes to one-way right in front of the house, so you have to make the block if you're coming from the Llano street direction, go down and pass the outdoor track at the middle school, the driveway will be on your left. 2. There's no TV or wifi, so if that's an issue for you-this is not the place for you. 3. It's just a few short blocks to the main street, which was GREAT because you can walk to shop/eat and don't have to worry about parking.
Breakfast at the German Bakery was worth the wait!! If you're hungry for a big breakfast-this is ideal for you! Other places to eat that didn't disappoint: The Buffalo Nickel has a delicious burger and chicken fried chicken! West End Pizza Co has great pizza and the outdoor patio is a hidden surprise , with TVs/bar and live music in the evening. Java Ranch has really good breakfast tacos, cinnamon rolls & many coffee options-if you're looking for something that's faster/more convenient.
Overall, had a great time!! Recommend for anyone who's looking for a perfect little weekend getaway in the Texas Hill Country.
An easy walk to our award-winning Main St with shops, galleries, restaurants, museums. More than you can visit in 1 weekend!
We are a destination for great wineries, art galleries, antiquing, shops and restaurants. And of course, music at many bars and restaurants!
