VERY Awesome!

We have stayed in many B & B's, air B & B's, VRBO's, Homeaway's and vacation rentals. I always hold my breath upon entering a home having been disappointed that the pictures did not match the actuality. But we have never been more pleased and happy because this home is so very clean and nicely appointed, from the bed and bath linens to the kitchen utensils. The screened front porch and deck are treats along with the gorgeous tile work in both bathrooms. The choices of each detail done in the remodel of this home from the cabinetwork, faucets, flooring, lovely antiques is so well thought out and appreciated - even the choice of lots of movies! The setting allowed my old friend and I to have a peaceful and special weekend - she kept saying 'IT'S JUST PERFECT!' Wishing every rental was patterned after this one. We took a walk following the trail map along the cut path in the fields behind the house - so pleasant. We enjoyed 3 deer that came up to the house one afternoon too. There are just too many plusses to note and the addition of the gourmet popcorn, fine coffee and chocolates as a welcome gift is just an example. We found several neat little antique and second hand shops on Chapman HWY nearby with very friendly proprietors and discovered many affordable treasures to take back home. We definitely will be back and are very appreciative toward the friendly and accommodating owners.

Lovely home with 1st class amenities!

Our daughter & son in law stayed with us at the Spangler House over a TN football weekend and we all had a wonderful experience. We picked up food for dinner Friday night before checking in and were pleasantly by a well appointed kitchen, complete with excellent coffee & filters, spices, food wraps and storage containers, as well as plenty of dish soaps & trash bags. The bathrooms had fluffy towels and very nice soaps & shampoos. An outside fire in the Chimera after dinner was a delight.

The beds were super comfortable, but heads up that one room has a double/full size bed. The second bedroom is a queen (I don't think King), in case that makes a difference to your party. We were fine, but my husband & I took the smaller bed, as our son in law is 6'4".

The owners were great, touching base with us to make sure everything was good, but were never intrusive during our stay. They even had left a gift for us on the kitchen counter when we arrived. Definitely a 5 star stay!!! Thanks Kristi & Jeff, you're awesome hosts!

Most relaxing stay!!

The Spangler House is absolutely AMAZING!! From the front porch, back porch, beautiful bathrooms and gorgeous views, I could not have asked for a better place to spend 4 days! Kristi was the most gracious host and has literally thought of everything! If you are looking for a home in Knoxville, look no further! Only 20 min from the stadium and grocery store and shopping are within 10-12 minutes of the house as well! I will rent this house again when we come back for another UT game! GO VOLS!

Great place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

This home is even cuter inside than it is outside, and the outside looks great. The area around the house was well manicured with a circular concrete driveway (many of the places there had dirt drives, kinda messy) looping in front of the home. There was plenty of room to park our trailer on the extended pad next to the porch. The home was immaculate both in and out. Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds, the main bathroom has a shower that is fantastic. The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances. There is a laundry area at the rear of the house adjacent to the 2nd bathroom which was a little small but nice. The entire front porch is screened in and has nice furniture to sit and enjoy the evening. Out the back of the house is a large deck with a patio table and barbeque, then a few feet away on the grass is a cute little chiminea. Mornings we were able to observe both deer and wild turkeys in the lot next door. We were able to get several good pics of them while sitting on the deck. While the TV doesn't have a huge number of channels, it was adequate for us and the Wi-Fi is a good, strong signal with no bandwidth issues even when 3 of us were on it. The Spangler House is without a doubt the nicest vacation home we've stayed in. Also, the owners were very friendly and willing to help if we had any issues (we didn't, everything was great). They even have some very nice robes in the closet, which my wife loved.

Our primary reason for being in the area was my son's wedding, but there are lots of great attractions between Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the surrounding area. It's also a prime motorcycle riding area. Some of the best rides in the country are in East Tennessee and each can be done in a day using the Spangler House as a base.

We will definitely try to stay again when we return to the area and have already recommended the property to several friends.

Clean and peaceful.

  • 5 of 5

My mother and I visited. We loved the house. It was so clean! It was nicely furnished. Everything we needed was provided. It was convenient to Pigeon Forge and Knoxville. We also visited the Biltmore in Asheville. The owners were so kind. We actually arrived during the night during a thunderstorm. Kristy was worried about us and guided us there by phone. Also had a wonderful gift waiting on us. We can't wait to go back.
