About the property

2BR Chalet With Loft. Wood Stove. Sleeps 8. Nearby to ski resorts & waterparks.

Ski season is upon us, and there is snow in the Poconos! The village has its own ski slope and sledding hill, as well as ice skating and ice fishing when the lakes are frozen over. Or you can venture out to nearby Jack Frost, Camelback, or other famous ski and tubing destinations. Check in at the village office when you arrive for badges, discounts, and current conditions.

Spend a fall afternoon hiking or sightseeing and relax at night at our fire pit. The Chalet has everything you need for your family vacation.

Spring is perfect for wildlife watching, and a great time to rent while crowds and rates are low. The summer brings with it all the Poconos has to offer, including cool temperatures and clear skies in the mountains. Beautiful colors and low crowds highlight the fall season. Our cozy and clean cabin is the place to enjoy it all. We are a short walk to Pines Beach, the biggest beach in the development.

You can save hundreds over the resorts plus enjoy the convenience of your own private getaway at our Chalet. Perfect for family vacations, hikers, skiers, hunters, adventure seekers, or for those who just want to get away from it all. Features a new, fully stocked kitchen with granite counter tops, back yard, wraparound deck, wood burning stove, and fire pit with Adirondack chairs. Flat screen TV with cable and free WiFi for your convenience. The entire interior has been painted and updated and includes a new laundry center. You will love the cozy privacy of the master bedroom, and the kids both young and old will love the sleeping loft upstairs which is stocked with games, including a retro video game system. The living area features plush leather sofas and a beautiful vaulted, pine paneled ceiling with recessed spotlights and skylights. We also have one of the few backyards in the development which is cleared and big enough for outdoor games. Check out our reviews and see how often our home is described as comfy, clean, and perfect for a vacation. We take great pride in our home as our family enjoys it often and we love hosting guests who will treat our home just as well.

The community of Locust Lake village has much to offer. Take a 4 minute walk to Pines Lake beach, or step outside your back door into state game lands #127. There are four lakes with lifeguards, concession stands, bathrooms and playgrounds are available as well as weekly activities, most of which are free for families. Basketball and tennis courts, and baseball and soccer fields are nearby at East Lake. In the winter, enjoy the village's two ski slopes or the sledding hill. Badges are required and available at the main office.

There is so much to do in the Pocono Lake area. A short drive takes you to major ski resorts, championship golf, hiking, and adventure. Split Rock, Jack Frost, and the newly expanded Kalahari indoor water park are 15 minutes away. Experience the excitement of the Pocono Raceway, the Mt. Airy Casino, Camelback Resort or travel to Scranton or Wilkes Barre for sporting and cultural events. The area also features numerous farmers markets and antique shops, as well as outlet shopping.

The Chalet is nestled among maples, oaks, and beeches. A vast state game land borders the backyard. We love our secluded mountain home and we know you will love it too! Browse the photos and request a booking when you're ready.

Please note that the primary renter must be at least 25 years old and we do not host post prom or graduation parties. However we DO accept pets under certain conditions, and we offer special discounts for our active and veteran servicemen and women. Please mention this when you submit your inquiry.

About Craig and Sue Snyder

Craig and Sue Snyder live in Garnet Valley, PA. We are both music teachers who enjoy the outdoors.

Craig and Sue Snyder purchased this chalet in 2015

Why Craig and Sue Snyder chose Locust Lake Village

We always wanted a place in the mountains where we could hike, golf, kayak, and most importantly, just relax. This property is perfect for us and we hope it will be perfect for your vacation. We have renovated the chalet from top to bottom and continue to make improvements.

What makes this chalet unique

This home could not be in a better location in the village. For families, being able to walk to the beach on the largest lake in the development is amazingly convenient. For hunters, you are able to step right off the property into the state game lands. And for skiers, the village boasts two private slopes as well as proximity to the greatest skiing in the Poconos.

But it's the property itself that is the real attraction. The pine paneled ceiling with its recessed lighting and skylights creates that "vacation home" feeling as soon as you walk in. The main room is a wonderful place to gather and play board games. The sleeping loft is great for the kids, while the adults can enjoy the privacy of two downstairs bedrooms. Our kitchen has all the conveniences of home, and you can do your laundry right on the premises.

Outside, we are proud to have one of the few grass backyards in the development, with room to throw the ball or frisbee around. Our fire pit is yours to use (wood not provided) and includes 8 Adirondack chairs. The deck is a great place to relax and eat your meals in the crisp mountain air. Sit outside in the early morning or dusk and catch a glimpse of white tailed deer in the woods, or just enjoy the absence of lawn mowers, street and air traffic, air conditioners, and other noisemakers that invade our lives. When you spend your vacation at our chalet, you will only notice the quiet, the fresh air, and your proximity to nature.

The chalet is absolutely charming!

  • 5 of 5

Sue and Craig have been an exceptionally attentive hosts making sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The chalet is absolutely charming! The house, appliances, and tableware were spotless. The beds were comfortable. We got to enjoy a soapstone stove, which made the whole house warm enough for our kids to run around in only pajamas with negative 6 degrees F outside! We really appreciated the extended check out time as packing with a toddler and fur kids is a time consuming task. We would love to come back again in a warmer season!

It was a great get away weekend for all!

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was very accommodating for us as a party of 5! Very clean and comfortable. The area was quiet and very relaxing. Took walks through the woods and down to the lake. Drove to Jim Thornton Saturday afternoon for the Christmas festivities! Quaint little town to explore. Definitely would revisit!

Excellent Family Getaway Rental

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I made a last minute short getaway to the Poconos, and this chalet was the perfect fit. With seven beds there is plenty of room for a larger group, but we really enjoyed the cleanliness, amenities and overall cozy feel of this rental. Sue and Craig were very responsive and helpful with any questions we had. We hope to come back next summer.
