About Craig and Sue Snyder

Craig and Sue Snyder live in Garnet Valley, PA. We are both music teachers who enjoy the outdoors.

Craig and Sue Snyder purchased this chalet in 2015

Why Craig and Sue Snyder chose Pocono Lake

We always wanted a place in the mountains where we could hike, golf, kayak, and most importantly, just relax. This property is perfect for us and we hope it will be perfect for your vacation. We have renovated the chalet from top to bottom and continue to make improvements.

What makes this chalet unique

This home could not be in a better location in the village. For families, being able to walk to the beach on the largest lake in the development is amazingly convenient. For hunters, you are able to step right off the property into the state game lands. And for skiers, the village boasts two private slopes as well as proximity to the greatest skiing in the Poconos.

But it's the property itself that is the real attraction. The pine paneled ceiling with its recessed lighting and skylights creates that "vacation home" feeling as soon as you walk in. The main room is a wonderful place to gather and play board games. The sleeping loft is great for the kids, while the adults can enjoy the privacy of two downstairs bedrooms. Our kitchen has all the conveniences of home, and you can do your laundry right on the premises.

Outside, we are proud to have one of the few grass backyards in the development, with room to throw the ball or frisbee around. Our fire pit is yours to use (wood not provided) and includes 8 Adirondack chairs. The deck is a great place to relax and eat your meals in the crisp mountain air. Sit outside in the early morning or dusk and catch a glimpse of white tailed deer in the woods, or just enjoy the absence of lawn mowers, street and air traffic, air conditioners, and other noisemakers that invade our lives. When you spend your vacation at our chalet, you will only notice the quiet, the fresh air, and your proximity to nature.

Home Away from Home (Literally)

WE ARE SO COMING BACK!!! This home was so comfortable, inviting and provided everything one would have in there own home. The area is so peaceful and everything is a short drive away. We are a family of 8 and we had more then enough room. The owners even went out their way to decorate for Christmas for use (we spent Christmas here). Craig and Sue responded right away and provided so much information over the phone as well as in the home. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about my wonderful experience.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Sue loves to decorate the house. The winters are great in the Poconos because you can relax in the peace and quiet or you can hit the nearby ski resorts. We look forward to hosting you again!

It was a great birthday weekend spent with friends! Games, drinking, skiing and some outdoor hikes make for great memories. The house was cozy and the setup was great. The upstairs loft was our favorite. We will definitely be back! Thank you again Susan & Craig, renting from you was our pleasure!

Outstanding!!!

  • 5 of 5

Let me say that if you are organizing next year's family reunion with Uncle Billie Bob and Cousin Emma Mae headed in from West Virgina along with your brother in law, recently divorced, and his twelve kids, then this probably is not the place for you.

However, if you are a couple, with or without a youngsgter or two, who just need some quiet and serene moments in a beautiful sylvan setting, look no further. You are simply not going to find a warmer, cozier spot than this chalet nestled in the heart of the Poconos with stuff to do aplenty right there in the community and all of the great attractions of the Pokies just minutes away, regardless of the season of the year.

The chalet is beautifully maintained and scrupulously clean, right down to games to play and wood to burn. While we were there in the Autumn for a quick getaway, it would be equally delighful at the height of the summer or ski season for a very reasonable price, less than a motel with its exciting four walls and a desk. Highly recommened for all of the above, but please don't try to book the same dates that we are planning for our next visit. H. Lee 9/30/2016

Owner's Response: Thanks Harry! We are so glad that you and your wife enjoy your stay and completely agree that our chalet is not for family reunions, unless your reunion is eight people or less! We look forward to hosting you again in the future.
