Kris checked us in when we arrived. She was friendly, helpful & gave us all the information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The condo itself was nicely furnished, the location beautiful, and so convenient to attractions around downtown Chicago. The doormen were professional and helpful. We couldn't have been happier with our stay.
This condo is perfect size for 4-5 people wanting to be near shops, restaurants and bars. We walked to Grant Park everyday for Lolla, which was about a 15-20 minute walk. Checking in and out was very simple (Thanks, Kris). Overall, we loved staying in this condo.
It was a nice place
The view was wonderfull !! The neightboard was great!
This apartment in Chicago was the perfect location, 1 block off of Michigan Avenue (Dylan's Candy Bar right at the corner, Whole Foods just a block away) The beds were super comfy, plenty of room and the views from the apartment were amazing. I was traveling with my 13 year old girls, they loved the pool and the building's lounge area where they could play pool. My only minor complaints were no toilet paper when we arrived, only 1 wine glass (I purchased a few and left them for the next renters) and no normal size coffee mugs (again these are minor complaints) I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would definitely recommend to others!!!
Positives include a outstanding location, building amenities, views.
That said, I have stayed at numerous VRBO and Homeaway locations in Europe and the U.S. and have never had this much trouble. First, the response came privately, not through the VRBO system. Nevertheless, I did make a PayPal deposit, but did not receive confirmation of my reservation. In fact, the next communication, by both text and voice mail, suggested I did not have a reservation and would have to switch from two bedroom to one bedroom and for two nights instead of one. It took numerous phone calls to various people in Miami and California, over two days, to confirm they did have my deposit and that I did have a reservation. Seems like system is potluck with no hands on quarterback or efficient paperwork or consistent billing practices. My experience is that there is not substitute of on-site owner and single point of communications. At one point, I was concerned this was just a scam and was looking to get deposit back and find hotel rooms.
Upon arrival, local agent was considerate in arranging early check-in as we had a tired baby in tow. That said, the room was sparsely prepared compared to the typical VRBO. Examples include, virtually no toilet paper, no soap of any kind including dishwasher soap, no paper towels or napkins, no dish towels and only limited bath towels, dinky coffee maker, no knives, spatula, or other utensils except minimal (and dirty) silverware, no broiler pan, no wine glasses, to name what I can recall.
Finally, the internet code provided was incorrect (not even close), and the system kept giving error messages saying the owner account needed attention. It seemed to download emails but prevent opening attached links. This was reported but not fixed during our stay (only one day).
Location and comfort at a maximum. This spacious apartment provided everything my daughter and I would hope for on a trip. The bed was comfortable and the baths well stocked. Well, with the exception of toilet paper as that needs to be upgraded which we easily did at the Whole Foods almost next door. The kitchen was well stocked even down to the dish detergent and trash bags. As mentioned in a former review, the bath towels could be upgraded also. That being said, nothing else fell short. We took cocktails to the 32nd floor nightly and also watched the Navy Pier fireworks from that location. We enjoyed the interesting people we encountered in the elevators who appeared to be young professional residents many of whom had beautiful pets on leashes. We were able to walk to most all of our destinations by way of the Magnificent Mile. Thank you for this comfortable 6 night stay at this delightful location.
