About Philippe Bareilles
Hello, I am born in 1954, I speak english, spanish and french. I was before in the movie business and studied production at NYU in 1980-1983, and since 2005 I dedicate myself to tourism. It is much quieter!
Philippe Bareilles purchased this Apartment in 1995
Why Philippe Bareilles chose Eixample
It is the best location in Barcelona and Barcelona is one of the best place in the world. Sea, mountains and countryside within few minutes drive.

This is where to stay in Barcelona!
Being our first visit to Barcelona, we didn't know what part of the city to stay in. Coming across this property was pure coincidence and as our vacation unfolded, we realized the location of this apartment is the best available. Located 2 blocks from the Placa de Catalunya makes it for an easy transfer to the airport on Aerobus, Metro and some trains for day trips - try the Frexinet cava tour! However, we didn't find it necessary to get on to the Metro unless we were tired of walking for the day. We walked to all of the main attractions, i.e., Park Guiell, Sagrada Familia, La Rambla, Gothic, Joan Miro, etc.. No reason to stress out about how to get places as you are in the center of the city! Close by, 1 block is a grocery store and many many good pastry, tapas and wine restaurants. Explore restaurants in the neighborhood and you won't be disappointed. The apartment itself is large, lots of windows, nice kitchen, sitting area inside, beautiful private balcony and private bathrooms for each bedroom! While the Eixample is a bustle of activity, the apartment is quiet and private as it is on the Penthouse floor.
While there were only 2 of us on this trip, the apartment could easily accommodate 6 adults comfortably, possibly more. We especially liked opening the large picture window to the balcony in the mornings for morning air and sunshine. Windows open around the kitchen and also a private reading area making the entire apartment flooded with sunshine. When we go back to Barcelona, we will arrange our trip around the availability of this apartment! Enjoy your trip and enjoy exploring the area! Thank you Phillippe for being the perfect host!
Love the apartment with the exception of the elevator, and the location of the bedroom. Otherwise the kitchen and living room were very nice, and although we did not have nice enough weather to sit outside – the sitting area out there looked beautiful. Owner was very prompt in responding to questions
Very spacious,clean,easy access to restaurants and sites. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
This place was truly a gem! The perfect combination of location and accommodation. I arrived at the airport (BCN), hopped onto the Blue Bus and 6 euros and 30 minutes later I got off and walked appropriately 4 blocks and I was home for my vacation. Three adults or three couples would be comfortable with room to spare. Additionally the host Phillipe was very communicative.
Note: There are stairs and varied elevations so this place would be tough to navigate for a traveler with physical limitations.
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment! We loved the art and enjoyed the sunsets!!
The place was everything you could need for a small family, even a special room for the baby! The kitchen was stocked well enough to cook a delicious Christmas dinner. The location was great—near restaurants and grocery shopping ! The rooftop patio was truly wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.
Address: Rambla Catalunya, 39;
Barcelona’s extensive Eixample district brings together a large number of modernista buildings of great architectural value. However, it is the central part which showcases most of the buildings designed in this style. Known as the Quadrat d’Or (Golden Square), it is the place where Barcelona’s moneyed classes came to live in the flats designed by the leading architects of the day, such as Gaudí.
I have also another condo at the same address: www.vrbo.com/157805
