The Farm Cottage was built in 2015. It is set amongst farmland with only 3 other house down the road.
Who needs a tv when you have the ever changing views of the Tararuas and an array of animals to play with? Which is lucky, because there isn't one. It is situated on a lifestyle block with a variety of animals including a couple of cows, occasional lambs, two dogs and chickens.
Breakfast of fresh baked bread, cereals and home-made yoghurt, fruit, coffee and even fresh free-range eggs from the resident chickens. The Farm Cottage even has a simple kitchen with everything you need to be independent, including a fridge, portable single induction cooker and a portable oven. No extra charges for additional persons.
We can provide a single mattress on the floor for a 5th person if required.
Nearby, on the same property, is the main home where your hosts live. They are generally available should you have any questions or issues.
The Farm Cottage is a kilometer from the main street of Greytown. Greytown is a boutique town, revelling in its heritage status. It is popular with Welingtonians as a weekend away or even a day trip. It has a great array of cafes, clothing and gift shops and a great Settlers Museum.
The wine region of Martinborough is 15 minutes drive away. There are many interesting sites to visit around the area, such as Stone Henge Aotearoa, The Pinnacles and Lake Wairarapa. The Wairarapa hosts numerous events throughout the year such as the Balloon Festival, The Martinborough Fair, The Martinborough Food and Wine Festival, and the Winery Tour concerts, to name just a few.
We have a worm sewer system so we cannot flush or wash any chemicals down the drains. The Farm Cottage is stocked with safe cleaning products and the bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Please do not wash any non natural products down the toilet. Sanitary products other than toilet paper must be wrapped and disposed of in the rubbish bins provided.

Great spot. Our 2 little boys loved being on a farm. Surprisingly comfortable and well equipped for the size, and of course very convenient to Greytown.
Comfortable and well-appointed. Doesn't really have a dining area but that didn't matter for us. Wonderful home-baked bread on the first day - was supposed to be our breakfast but it smelled so good we scoffed it warm. The cottage stood up well to the gale force winds! Handy location.
Beautiful little spot close to Greytown. Our daughter got to experience farm life for a week and was able to feed the animals on the property. The cottage was fully equipped with everything we needed and our hosts had als provided some extra little treats on our arrival. A very relaxing week - we'll be back!
Cottage was lovely, nice and warm, well set up with great views of the mountains, close to Greytown and lovely property
The cottage itself is very clean, quiet and had everything we needed (and the beds are really comfortable) It is set in such a picturesque area and the farm animals were great entertainment to our one year old
