The cabin was perfect for my birthday getaway with my wife. We arrived early to town, and our gracious host text us and let us know that we could check-in early (depends on circumstances). We found the cabin to be cozy and well equipped for our stay.
We are veterans to VRBO, and this is by far our best experience. Why you might ask? Well it was the small attention to detail. Every time we needed something, there it was. Even the wine glasses were to our liking. But wait there is more...
The wildlife in the little cabin village are everywhere. Deer actually walked right up to us and chowed down on an apple out of our hands. We saw turkeys, and a huge bull elk. It was really neat to see animals around.
The snow...it snowed while we were there, and we did not get stuck. The town takes care of things really quickly, so no need to worry. We did ski our last day, and with a little help from the locals we found a cool guy in town to take us up the mountain road for $80 round trip. You can't get up the mountain to the ski area if you don't have 4 wheel drive or snow chains. Skiing was great!
All in all a great trip! We will be back!
The cabin was perfect! Beautiful inside and out. It was warm & cozy. My husband and son enjoyed evening hikes in the forrest (in the backyard). We spent time fishing and exploring Lincoln State Park. We highly recommend this beautiful cabin.
This place was amazing! It has so many upgrades inside and the added patio and hot tub made it a perfect stay for two people!
Very happy with this cabin. Clean and cozy. Could not of asked for more. Would recommend to family and friends. Plan to return some day.
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was very much as shown in the pictures, with excellent directions to the location. It was close to town, quiet and dark at night, and a very nice hot tub and BBQ. Extremely comfortable bed. The gas fireplace was very nice.
Our suggestions would primarily relate to the bathroom, which is beyond small (it is what it is). There needs to be better, brighter lighting. The tub needs to be reglazed and regrouted. Extra toilet paper should be readily available, you shouldn't have to search for it (it was in the closet in the dining area!). More towels would have been appreciated. There was one each for the shower and for the hot tub. Being there 4 1/2 days, a change would have been nice.
We did feel the cleaning fee was high. Since we had to take out the trash, gather towels in the tub and wash dishes, the cleaner only has to vacuum and dust as well as clean the kitchen and bath in VERY small house. There were lots of dust bunnies under the bed. Also a DVD player should be there in the event of poor weather or if you just are not interested in TV watching.
We would recommend to others.
First time for my wife and I in Ruidoso, we came for our 1st anniversary. Very pleased with this cabin. Upper canyon is beautiful (leaves changing colors). Great for walks and nature encounters. We had visits by probably 8+ deer over our stay. We had a great experience watching 2 young bucks wrestling for about 10 minutes in front of the cabin, about 10 feet from us. Hot tub, grill and all appliances/ammentities are of high quality and well kept and new. Perfect for the small family or couple's retreat. Owners seem very helpful and caring. Only negative we experienced was each morning of our stay (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) was interrupted by a noisy generator/trailer down the street from another house two houses away. I understand home improvements but why at 8 am on weekends when people come to experience nature especially in the mornings. I understand this is completely out of the owner's control. This should not negatively affect them. We look forward to returning.
