Welcome to the historic seaside suburb of Devonport, Auckland's unique village by the sea, only a 10 minute ferry trip away from Auckland City, full of breathtaking Victorian and Edwardian architecture, two volcanic cones, several beaches and all the fine dining you could wish for. Flagstaff House is one of Devonport's earliest villas, built in 1884. The garden, which guests are encouraged to enjoy, leads directly through a gate onto one of our Volcanic Cones, Mount Victoria, which has many walking tracks around it. A viewing platform at the top of the garden offers a panoramic vista of Auckland's harbour and beyond. You can chose 1 guest suite: Shaker Room (Superking bed/bath/shower) or 2 by including Robins Room (Queen bed/double shower) as a second. Views are captured on the verandah onto which both guest suites open, through french doors on the upper storey of the grand villa. A shared family kitchen offers independence 24 hours a day from having to buy prepared food.Basic breakfast provisions are available and provided at no extra cost, to start the day with other meals self catered, or you may wish to visit one of the many cafes just minutes away. A guest lounge provides a peaceful setting to relax, and communal laundry facilities are a welcome addition for travellers. Recently completely restored and renovated in 2012, all facilities are superbly designed. We take pride in offering luxurious and elegant accommodation at a reasonable price to our guests. The local picture theatre is open daily, and also originates from the Victorian Era. The ferry terminal is 700 metres away, ferries departing every 15-30 minutes to Auckland City. Ferries are also available for Waiheke Island, and Auckland City provides access to most of the islands in Auckland Harbour. We enjoy immensely the ability to share our family home with guests from around the world and hope we can assist with our local knowledge and advice to make your stay with us both enjoyable and inspirational!
