Enjoy total relaxation at this cheerful lakefront cottage. This home is super clean and bright and fully equipped with everything you need. We even include hi-speed wireless Internet service for your personal laptop. Just bring your favorite foods, easily available at the nearby Shoprite Supermarket. This affordable vacation property is designed for the perfect romantic getaway or a low-key gathering of up to five people (one Queen bed, one double bed, one single). You decide whether you prefer lazy days or taking advantage of the vast selection of activities and attractions in the Poconos. At the property, there are 2 kayaks and a jon boat for your boating pleasure. Five community badges are included, which allow guests to enjoy community facilities: outdoor pool (closed after Labor Day), sand beach, basketball court, and tennis courts.

A SUMMER DAY BY THE LAKE: Greet the new day with a tranquil view of the lake and the sounds of birds chirping. Sit on the deck, sipping your favorite morning beverage as you watch nature wake up around you. Walk on the back lawn to your private beach on the lake. On the large dock, you can sunbathe, sit back on the comfortable built-in lounge and read or quietly contemplate the flowing water--you can even fish right off the dock. Have lunch on the picnic table on the beach or on the dining table on the deck. Spend a lazy afternoon on the quilted hammock, reading, napping, or just gazing at the treetops.

You are likely to spot some of the many local birds and animals that live near and around the lake. Most frequent visitors are ducks, geese, and deer, along with the more common songbirds and small animals. Watch as the birds, including hummingbirds, stop at the feeder by the deck. You can even enjoy the wonderful view of the lake while lounging indoors in the living room.

As the day winds down, have a glass of wine while watching the sun begin to set from the comfort of your private dock. Prepare your meals in the fully equipped kitchen or treat yourself to a barbecue on the deck. As night falls push up a chair to the outdoor fire pit, roast some marshmallows, and gaze at the stars or snuggle up inside while watching a movie or enjoy a night of casinos and fine dining—whatever strikes your fancy that evening!

Mount Pocono is a small old-fashioned town, near the I80 and I380 connector roads and smaller roads such as 611, which provide easy access to all of the Poconos area attractions. There is an affordable public golf course and a quaint soda fountain shop, first-run movie theater, and miniature golf, right in town--15 minutes away from the cottage. So much to enjoy, so little time--you’ll just have to come back for another stay at the lake!

the house is beautiful set on the water and the owners and everything well thought out ! upon arrival we found a nice book detailing all the information on the house and how to operate everything from the grill to the washing machine! and everything the area had to offer! even with no a/c we found the house stayed comfortable even in mid august. The kayaks and boats were awesome and perfect for an evening paddle around the lake or take them across the lake to the pool and recreation area . the only down side to this lake is that it is shallow water (muddy by the dock)until you get in the center of the lake .if you want to swim you almost have to take a boat out to the center then its deep enough to jump in.. Also be shore to bring extra bread to feed the ducks !

Just as advertised. Great lakeside property for a family getaway.

  • 5 of 5

What a great long weekend we just had!!! Everything was just as we expected. The house was in great shape and the exact size for our family. We loved being on the lake on the boat and kayaks, and the kids couldn't get enough of the hammock. We got to use the pool and the beach and enjoyed some local fun. Couldn't ask for more once again. We will definitely be back. Thanks Michael!!!

Adorable House with a Great View

  • 5 of 5

We had such a lovely stay here this week. Stayed for 7 days in mid-August and it was perfect.

The house is great. All the decor is adorable and it's actually cuter in person than in the pictures (which never happens!). I stayed with my husband and parents and I'd say 4 adults is a perfect number for this house.

Because the house is in the pocono mountains, it was nice and cool. Even with NJ thrown into a summer sauna (100 degree heat!) the temp at the house was a perfect 75-80 degrees most of the time.

The view is great. Lake Carobeth isn't a huge lake but it's very pretty and this house is in probably the best spot. There is a great beach in the backyard that makes kayaking a breeze.

We didn't use the community pool or beach so can't really comment there.

I must say that for being a waterfront property I was AMAZED at how few bugs there were to contend with. We brought bug spray but only had to use it some of the time for little biting flies. I think I saw 1 mosquito the whole time!

The fire pit is great, situated right near the water. Loved sitting around a fire and roasting marshmallows into the night. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful.

We saw lots of wildlife. Tons of very tame-seeming deer, bunnies and chipmunks. We saw a few bats at night, a cute turtle made an appearance, and there was even a bear visit at the trash cans. It's the poconos so that's very typical behavior!

The house owners are very generous to their guests. I've stayed at a few rentals over the years and NEVER have I seen a house better outfitted for guests. Abundant towels, disposables already in place, soaps and detergents provided, tons of little thoughtful things. they really stocked the house to make it easy and comfortable. There are games to play, movies and music. They included a Pandora account which we loved using.

Th only down points:

It's a small lake and it's catch and release. If you're a big fisher this might not be the lake for you. Local Tobyhanna state park has some good fishing though.

There was a yellow jacket nest by the shed that got my dad and husband stung. Again, it's the poconos and stuff like this happens.

The area is a bit quiet with not much locally to do (so far as I could tell). So maybe plan on staying in and relaxing or driving a bit to excursions.

Thats really it! This is a great rental and we would definitely stay again. The owners are extremely nice and responsive and just great to work with. Thank you!!!

Wonderful, relaxing family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed the week at this lovely cottage and had a wonderful time! The cottage itself is so charming and the location right on the lake can't be beat. Michael was so responsive to any questions we had and the cottage was well appointed with everything we needed for the week. Our three kids loved the kayaks and rowboat and we caught a few fish off of the dock! The cottage is also in a great location for day trips around the Poconos, and we enjoyed the Delaware Water Gap, Boulder Park and renting a pontoon boat at nearby Lake Wallenpauck. This vacation home is truly a hidden gem for adults and kids. Hope to visit again soon!!

Lovely comfortable property

  • 5 of 5

Michael was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, responding rapidly to all communications. The property is exactly as it looks in the pictures. It is a well-maintained, lakeside property, with excellent external areas where you can always find sun or shade. Michael has thoughtfully provided many outdoor "toys" to help you enjoy your stay. We particularly enjoyed the kayaks and boat (lifejackets were provided). Our teenage daughter particularly enjoyed the hammock. The local wildlife also provided entertainment. Inside the house, everything was very clean, comfortably furnished and we were able to easily find everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Again, many thoughtful extras were provided: games, CDs, DVDs. The bedrooms are a good size - one is upstairs and is larger with a view to the lake, the other is downstairs. The single bed is a day bed in the living area. If you are much over 180cm tall, you would probably want to use the upstairs bed as the beautiful old wooden bed downstairs has both a head and footboard and my husband (180cm) only just fitted in! While there is no air conditioning, there are ceiling fans everywhere you need them, and insect screens on windows and we did not find it too hot in July. The house is within a large gated residential estate, with a varied mix of residential and holiday homes. There are a number of amenities on the estate. We only used the café area which was basic, but good enough for the odd ice cream, and the main pool area which was clean and well-maintained with lifeguards. We could also see (but didn't use) tennis courts, basketball courts and a lakeside beach area with pedalo boats. You can swim in the lake, but it is not crystal clear water, although seems clean enough. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, with supermarkets and restaurants within a ten minute drive, and many other excellent amenities within a half hour drive. Our son used the Pocono Gym several times which was very close to the house and he was made very welcome there. All in all, a nice house in a good location, and we would happily return. Thanks Michael!
