Why Ashley chose Mount Snow Area

Perfect year-round retreat.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at this house for a week with our family (13 of us, ages 8 to 60's). We were thrilled with the property and cannot say enough. It is beautifully furnished throughout. Every possible need has been addressed, as well as so many extras we didn't expect. We've rented many vacation homes over the years; this was the most ideal for our large family with plenty of space to spread out.

The property is immaculately maintained. We had one little fluke with the dishwasher (our error) and Ashley answered our question promptly.

We all enjoyed the water crafts and the dock area. We had campfires a few nights and several of the boys spent a night lakeside in a tent we brought from home. The fishing was fun, right off the dock. There is a bit of a steep grade down to the lake from the house, not enough to prevent us all from enjoying that lake!

The grocery store (Shaw's) in the little town of Wilmington is close by and we enjoyed the little shops in the area. River Valley Market is a great specialty food store with high quality meats, produce, etc. Some of the grandchildren enjoyed Adams Farm nearby. Golf is nearby; the course near Mt. Snow has beautiful scenery and we didn't have any problem booking tee times.

We would recommend this property to all; it was a great family vacation!

Beautiful home for larger family gatherings

  • 5 of 5

We rented the Ski Haus for a Fall family get-together. With 6 adults and 2 kids we had plenty of room for everyone. The foliage was at its peak while we were there and the view from the house was perfect. It was so nice to take advantage of the spacious dining table and while the three-season porch was chilly during our visit, it was a great place to take in the scenery.

The house has internet via satellite and I was worried that it wouldn't be able to handle the sheer number of devices that we had with us, but we got along nicely. There is no cable, but we watched netflix and with a little patience we were even able to stream a live show one night.

The foosball and ping pong tables were a huge hit with everyone, and the kitchen is well laid out to make meals for larger crowds.

Traveling into the adorable town of Wilmington was a quick and easy ride, and the shops there are really lovely. The Ski Haus was the perfect setting for our group and I'd love to visit again in the warmer weather to take advantage of the lake and all it has to offer.

Beautiful Waterfront House

  • 5 of 5

It was "wow" from the moment we walked in the front door. Beautiful views from the enclosed porch (we ate all our meals there) & from the lower deck where we had our before dinner drinks while cooking the majority of our evening meals on their Weber Grill. The bedrooms had the most comfortable beds & the entire house was decorated beautifully. We had so much fun down at the dock- whether it was just relaxing with a good book to read or out on the water with the kayaks & paddle boards that were provided. We highly recommend this property - we hated to leave.

Just Relax

  • 5 of 5

This place is just as wonderful as the pictures make it look. Lake rap Ona is a wonderful body of Water. We were there in August and the water temp was fantastic. The boats are great for anyone who wants to get out and explore the lake. The screened porch is great for large groups to eat dinner. Wilmington is a cute little town and Brattleboro is close by, but we never made it there because hanging by the lake is all we wanted to do.

If you want to fish the lake, bring your own stuff. We never caught anything very big but there are lots of little bass around.

Gorgeous Large Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This lovely beautifully decorated home is situated at the top of a slope that descends to the shore of Lake Raponda. Within the three levels of living space there are two very ample gathering areas, with a huge screened in porch. I think the porch was my favorite place because you could watch the kids playing at the lake, and be near the center of the kitchen activities. We had a large group split between two houses, and cooked some meals at each house. This house has adequate seating for 25, a real plus! The kitchen is fully stocked and has very upscale appliances. The grassy area pictured was where we spent most of our time. What a view!!!!! There were plenty of life vests for the kids and water toys. It is a steep walk to the water, but no one complained. Everyone is clamoring to return to the house for our next family reunion.
