Why Ashley chose Wilmington

Perfect year-round retreat.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed at this house for a week with our family (13 of us, ages 8 to 60's). We were thrilled with the property and cannot say enough. It is beautifully furnished throughout. Every possible need has been addressed, as well as so many extras we didn't expect. We've rented many vacation homes over the years; this was the most ideal for our large family with plenty of space to spread out.

The property is immaculately maintained. We had one little fluke with the dishwasher (our error) and Ashley answered our question promptly.

We all enjoyed the water crafts and the dock area. We had campfires a few nights and several of the boys spent a night lakeside in a tent we brought from home. The fishing was fun, right off the dock. There is a bit of a steep grade down to the lake from the house, not enough to prevent us all from enjoying that lake!

The grocery store (Shaw's) in the little town of Wilmington is close by and we enjoyed the little shops in the area. River Valley Market is a great specialty food store with high quality meats, produce, etc. Some of the grandchildren enjoyed Adams Farm nearby. Golf is nearby; the course near Mt. Snow has beautiful scenery and we didn't have any problem booking tee times.

We would recommend this property to all; it was a great family vacation!

Winter delight

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous February vacation in this home. House is beautiful and had everything we needed. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The beautiful lake was frozen so we were able to go ice skating. We went to Mount Snow which was a quick easy drive, as well as, Adams farm for a sleigh ride with the horses. Ashley was very quick to respond when we had questions. The family would consider this property for a summer getaway for sure.

Beautiful house with everything you need

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house for New Years, and had an amazing time. We were 12 adults and 5 kids. House has very comfortable beds/mattresses/pillows. Kitchen had everything we needed. Rooms are big and kids had a lot of space to play. We would defiently go back to stay in that house. Oh, and the view from the house is just amazing

A beautiful home with everything you could want on a vacation

  • 5 of 5

This is a great house with everything you could want for a lake house or a ski house. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable, and impeccably decorated. The lake is clear, and the views from the house are beautiful from almost every room. We stayed for a long weekend and while it was the end of October, so the water was too cold to swim, we enjoyed the boats, evenings outside with the cool, beautiful air, and of course the hot tub. Every room is beautifully decorated and every bed comfortable. The decorations throughout the house are interesting and aesthetically pleasing with little treats in every corner from books to games to pieces of artwork. Every last detail has been thought of to make sure that your stay is comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped, there are white noise machines in the bedrooms, there is even something available if you wish to cover the windows in the morning if the sun is too bright. Really, this house is extremely well taken care of and is a great place to stay. There is a beautiful armoire in the upstairs hallway filled to the rim with comfortable towels for the showers and lake. We look forward to hopefully coming back during the warmer months and possibly coming back during ski season when I can imagine what a welcome this house provides after a day of skiing. Also, this house is incredibly spacious and can accommodate many many people very comfortably.

Luxury at the Lake

  • 5 of 5

This was a long-weekend 50th anniversary celebration with our sons and their families, and it was perfect! It is an absolutely wonderful house with plenty of room for all 13 of us and easily room for more. Our six granddaughters loved the six-bunk room, and our grandson appreciated a quiet room of his own. The house has a relaxing feel and is decorated beautifully. The kitchen is well equipped -- we were even able to make ice cream. We appreciated having a table large enough for all of us. The screened porch on the main level is great. Everyone was so busy enjoying the house, hot tub, fire ring, and lake that no one turned on the TV! The only down side is the rather steep walk to and from the beautiful lake. It was a bit much for the 70-somethings; the 40-somethings had no problems; and, of course, the kids did it at a run. A grocery store is only a few miles away in Wilmington as well as some cute shops. Ashley was very accommodating and quick to respond to my emails. Thanks again, Ashley, for sharing your home with us.

A great property!

  • 5 of 5

This is a gorgeous home, and well-stocked with whatever you might need, even food staples and condiments! The sleeping accommodations were perfect for our 4 family groups, including 10 children of all ages. The dock is great, and the waterfront area in the picture very pleasant, too. Bunks for the older kids in the basement, and enough space in the bedrooms for the "littles" to be with their parents - and even a main floor room for Grandma! Plenty of bathrooms, too. Also great equipment to enjoy the water. The path down is VERY steep, but we are all able-bodied, so even one pregnant mama and grandma with bad knees were able to make the climb. I would happily give 5 stars, but for a water problem (failing well) which wasn't the owner's fault, and we were well compensated for the inconvenience. Would love to stay there again sometime!! I guess it deserves 5 stars anyway!!
