Our Tranquility cabin is for the real outdoors person who wants a step above a tent with the basics of modern day living at a great price. This one room rustic log wood sided cabin is nestled on the back boarder of the property but easily accesses the shared common facilities. There are metal steps that drops 100" from the "Bluff" that overlloks our Kenai River frontage for fishing with waders and your own fishing gear. The cabin accommodates 2 comfortably with 2 twin beds (not moveable), a kitchenette with an electric replica of an old cast iron stove (stove top only no oven), microwave and full refrigerator with ice maker all the essentials setups needed to prepare a quick meal. You can relax in front of the wood burning stove or catch the news on the 32" flat screen TV at the two seat table or sit on the small deck. This wood floor cabin has a bathroom with shower, one set of bed linens and towel set per guest provided for the stay. A wall heater and wood burning stove, Direct TV and WIFI Internet in cabin. Limited firewood. Community laundry available on site. Check-in and Check-out Clean per stay.

The Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge & Cabins is nestled on the south bank of the Kenai River off Funny River Road 17 miles from town of Soldotna, Alaska. Our unique homestead will be the ideal place to start and end your day as you explore the "Last Frontier”. The town of Soldotna is centrally located for you to experience all the Kenai Peninsula has in store for your Alaskan adventurous vacation. We provide a unique place to stay that will take you back in time and you have the luxury of deciding whether you relax at our picturesque location or immerse yourself in the many guided adventure trips available.

Our lodge, cabins and studio are offered to guests ranging from $135 to $500 per night, based on the accommodations and week you choose for your vacation. Many vacation rentals have set packages that combine lodging and other activities, but we felt it is best to provide accommodations only with the resources to connect you to guided trips so YOU plan your own itinerary. This Alaskan homestead of a Lodge (Harmony ) , 3 cabins (Prosperity, Serenity & Tranquility) is the perfect place for a family or friends gathering, as we can accommodate up to 15 people if you rent the entire acre homestead.

River fishing is possible, however requires waders to access the main river channel and the walk down to the river is by metal steps that drops 100 feet from the “Bluff” that overlooks the River. We are on the south side of the Kenai River off of Funny River Road, across from Bing’s Landing and a portion of the river called “the Rapids”. There are two other public access river fishing spots on our side of the Kenai River, as well as, the public access spots in Soldotna, near the Kenai Bridge (about 15 minutes from us) and you can do a search on local public fishing to see exact locations. Because of our “south side” location, we are about an hour drive to the Sterling and Russian River locations. Even though we are fairly successful fishing on our own, we are a big proponent of using guides to assure the best fishing results. The local guides know exactly where the fish are each day and our main web site (provided upon booking) lists experienced guides that you can consider to enhance your fishing experience.
All fish must be taken to a local fish processor in Soldotna but fish caught on property can be cleaned at shoreline and double bagged in your refrigerator until next trip in town to the local fish processor.

For those with an adventurous spirit, get ready to enjoy the many activities the area has to offer by simply exploring the resources we have provided on this website. Reserve our Harmony Lodge or one of our three Cabins and then start planning your vacation that you arrange directly with guide & charter companies making your selections based on your budget and desire for adventure. Some of the adventures available include guided fishing trips down the Kenai River, a fly out to Wolverine Creek and a Glacier, or a deep sea charter from Homer and Seward, hiking or horseback riding along some of the most stunning trails, clam digging along Cook’s Inlet, ATV trips, day cruises, whale and bear viewing, kayaking and canoeing, and local quaint town shopping. The Kenai Peninsula is nicknamed “Alaska’s Playground” for a reason, so book your trip and get ready to play in one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

If you prefer a relaxing vacation, you will be treated to our spectacular views of the Kenai River and Kenai Mountains as the sun rises and sets. If you want to reach your fish limit each day it is best either bring your own gear and venture out to the many available fishing spots or plan guided fishing trips and let the professionals help you. End your day with the sun setting and relaxing in our wood burning sauna or build a camp fire in the community fire ring and roast marshmallows. If you desire to grill a meal, we have a charcoal grill near the picnic table. You can wind down the evenings within your private accommodations or you can socialize with other guests on our community deck. The acre grounds are lush with trees, bushes and flowers, all overlooking the Kenai River and Mountains.

You cannot beat the Kenai Peninsula and River area for wildlife viewing as our Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge and Cabins is aptly named, with eagles commonly seen all along the river. Our lodge and cabins in Soldotna is less than a 2 hour drive to either the towns of Seward or Homer. We are a 3.5 hour scenic highway drive from Anchorage Airport (ANC) and less than an hour from the Kenai Airport. Day trips to towns of Homer, Seward, and Kenai will give you a chance to experience the diversity of Alaska and the Kenai Peninsula. Heading to Seward you will travel north from the Kenai river valley through flat wetlands with scrub spruce to the mountains with stands of Sitka Spruce forest and clear mountain lakes passing by Exit Glacier to Seward with all its beauty of Resurrection Bay. You may decide to head south on another day along the coastline of Cook Inlet to Kachemak Bay and Homer where you will be treated on a clear day the majestic views of the Aleutian mountain range and Mount Redoubt. These two drive trips are an adventure in themselves with panoramic views of volcanoes across the inlet and wildlife viewing opportunities of bears, moose, caribou and an array of birds.

For the fisherman at heart, the Kenai River has five species of Salmon with the Kings (Chinook) using it for their spawning grounds. Along with the Kings are the Silver Salmon (Coho), Sockeye Salmon (Red), Pink Salmon (Humpback), Chum Salmon (Dog), Dolly Varden and world class Rainbow Trout. The coastal waters off the Kenai Peninsula are home to Halibut, Lingcod and Rockfish, so be sure to plan for a day on a charter either out of Seward or Homer. Our area lakes are stocked annual and surround the Soldotna area.

While visiting the lovely town of Soldotna stop by the Soldotna Visitor Center for more information and to view a variety of animal exhibits on display, including the world record King Salmon, caught by Les Anderson in 1985 or take a walk along the Kenai River on the elevated boardwalk. We welcome you to Soldotna, Alaska and hope you will come stay with us and experience the Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge and Cabins in Soldotna, Alaska.

Great getaway
We’ve stayed in Alaska for years. This trip was just my son and I. He chose a guys fishing trip for his graduation gift. We wanted to go fairly easy just because we knew we’d be fishing the entire time. The cabin we stayed in was perfect for us and we loved the remoteness to it. Fishing was fantastic and we also enjoyed our time on the property.

We are the Walch and Marcantonio family from Florida…who decided that we wanted to enjoy the “Alaskan Last Frontier” more than one week a year, so we went on a search for the perfect property. After 10 years of working with a local Realtor we found Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge and Cabins and purchased it in late summer 2015 and adjacent property in 2018. We bring over 30 years of experience of owning and operating vacation rental properties in Florida, North Carolina and even Roatan Honduras.

We wanted to offer “accommodations only” because over the years some of our party didn’t want the full fish package but we always found it hard to find a place that didn’t still require a package rate for each person. You can simply rent the Main Lodge, a Cabin or the whole homestead for your party at one price and then you decide how many of your group wants to join you on your fishing or wildlife adventures while here.

Why they chose this property

When we arrived at the homestead, we were immediately overwhelmed by sheer nature… with all the beauty of the grounds, river and mountains. If you are looking for a unique property “that isn’t cookie cutter” then come spend some time at the Kenai River Soaring Eagle Lodge and Cabins and rejuvenate your nature spirit.

What makes this property unique

The Kenai Peninsula is nicknamed “Alaska’s Playground” for a reason, so book your trip and get ready to play in one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

If you prefer a relaxing vacation, you will be treated to our spectacular views of the Kenai River and Kenai Mountains as the sun rises and sets. If you get the fishing urge, you can always your fishing rods and hike down the river bank’s switchbacks to our shore on the Kenai River. End your day with the sun setting and relaxing in our wood burning sauna or build a camp fire in the fire ring and roast marshmallows. If you desire to grill a meal, we have a charcoal grill near the picnic table. You can wind down the evenings within your private accommodations or you can socialize with other guests on our community deck. The one+ acre grounds are lush with trees, bushes and flowers, all overlooking the Kenai River and Mountains.
