Overview

About the property

6 Bedroom, 4.5 Bath Cabin Style Luxury Lodge With Modern Amenities

Our home was built in 2008 and purchased by my family in 2015. We have spent a great deal of time here to get to know the area. Additionally, we are dedicated to adding improvements each year so it is guaranteed to get even better!

This home is strategically placed high up on the mountain overlooking Lake Raystown Resort just around the corner of Shy Beaver Boat Launch/Inlet. It includes 67 acres to enjoy with a 2 acre lawn for family games/activities. Whether enjoying the fire pit or hot tub overlooking the lake, or custom horseshoe pits, or just simply bird/game watching, our property will provide plenty of opportunities for recreation.

An incredible view of the Lake is visible from nearly the entire house, firepit area, and hot tub. The property boasts one of the few usable lawns at nearly 2 acres level ground that would be perfect for medium-sized events/ photos etc. From the property there is direct access to walking/running/mountain biking/hiking trails without leaving the grounds.

We are conveniently located about a mile from the nearest boat launch. Arrangements for storage can be made if bringing a boat. Rentals are available at Lake Raystown Resort just a few minutes away.

Special accommodations, kitchen items, child needs, and furniture can be arranged by letting the owners know.

Renter must be 26 years old to book. Maximum number of occupants is 20 unless special arrangements are made.

Linens and towels are included for your convenience! No need to pack such bulky items for travel.

About Mike Gentry

The owners, Mike and Brandi, have three young children. We love boating, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and riding our side-by-side UTV on our property. We absolutely love it here!

Mike Gentry purchased this lodge in 2015

Why Mike Gentry chose Pennsylvania

I grew up in the local area and have visited Raystown Lake my whole life. I know the Lake area very well and in recent years learned of the exclusive homes available with lakeviews on the bluff next to Shy Beaver; we began our search here. Our search ended when we found the Eagle Mountain Lodge. What a wonderful and peaceful place!

What makes this lodge unique

From the property is an unparalleled view with plenty of space to roam. Bedrooms are spacious so sleeping arrangements aren't cramped.

Wonderful Place for Family Gathering

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 11 adults and 3 children (ages ranging from 3 months to 86 years) had a wonderful time at Eagle Mountain Lodge. The Lodge was very clean upon arrival and was well appointed. There were even many infant/children's items available for us to use.

The Lodge is uniquely beautiful and you feel comfortable and welcomed as soon as you arrive. It has a great layout that worked very well for our group. The four-year-old loved the bunk bed in the "kids' room"! The home is very child friendly with respect to toys and supplies, although we had to keep a close eye on the 2 year old when she wanted to "investigate" some of the decorations. There are built in gates at the tops of the two sets of stairs (and additional gates available if needed) which is helpful for little ones. The main floor master bedroom with ensuite bathroom accommodated the seniors in our family very well, preventing them from having to go up and down stairs to get to their room. The rooms are all nice sized and we never felt like we were crowded.

The view is incredible from just about every room in the house. There is a great upper deck (off the main floor) and a lower level patio which both overlook the lake. Both are nicely equipped with comfortable furniture. There is plenty of lawn space for outdoor games, several of which are available for guests' use.

The owners really have thought of everything to make your stay easy, comfortable and relaxing. There are lots of extras provided that you don't always get in a vacation rental. Speaking of the owners, Mike was extremely helpful and easy to work with. He was available to answer questions and went above and beyond to help us prepare for our stay, as well as during our stay. We have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years, and without a doubt, Eagle Mountain Lodge is at the top of our list of favorites! In fact, some family members will be returning to the Lodge for a fall getaway. We would highly recommend Eagle Mountain Lodge as a great place to stay!

One word of caution if you are using one of the boat launches - make sure you only park in designated spaces. They do give tickets if you park anywhere else. We were at the Shy Beaver Boat Launch on July 2nd, which was pretty crowded. There were several cars parked along the edge of the upper lot and tucked in various nooks and crannies, all of which had parking tickets on them!

Perfect home in the sky

  • 5 of 5

We love this property which is the reason we returned again this year and are planning another trip for next year. The home is comfortable, beautiful, spacious, and filled with interesting pieces. Watching the changing moods of the lake and the mountains is awe-inspiring. An all-around fabulous experience spending a get-away at Eagle Mountain Lodge. Thank you, Gentry family for sharing.

Great for Family Reunions

  • 5 of 5

The house is remote and the view is stunning. It's well stocked for getting together a big group and having fun on the property. You can be totally self sufficient up there. Baby, toddler friendly furnishings as well.

Unforgettable Experience

  • 5 of 5

Our family reunion gathered members from five states, VT to FL, and ages 5 months to 92. Eagle Mountain Lodge exceeded all our expectations. Parents found tubs of toys, pack-and-plays for little ones and lots of fun diversions for children 6 and under. Bedrooms were spacious enough for extra gear and many accommodated additional air mattresses. The kitchen crew enjoyed every convenience: two refrigerators, ample counter space, a laundry room off the kitchen that offered extra storage space, and so much more. Saturday we entertained another branch of our family tree. The large grill, crock pots, stove/oven, folding tables, chairs, lawn tents, lawn games and other extras made a 40 person meal easy to prepare/serve while the spacious lawn offered fun and room for simultaneous games. The house ice cream maker provided a tasty treat for young and old. However, the most extraordinary feature was Eagle Mountain Lodge’s mountaintop location. Panoramic views from the deck, hot tub and fire pit areas were truly spectacular. You had an eagle’s point of view. You saw open sky, distant mountains and Raystown Lake snaking its way through miles of valley. A very special thanks to Mike who graciously went “above and beyond” to meet every need and to ensure that our reunion became the best of family memories.
