WATERFRONT RETREAT on tranquil Careening Cove in Sydney Harbour. A perfect location for both the traveler or working professional, looking for a quiet neighborhood with charm and character, and at the same time close to everything. Please read our reviews for guest's comments.
The North Sydney ferry is opposite the apartment, and is a scenic trip on the Harbour only 10-15 minutes to Circular Quay, the cruise ship terminal, and the CBD of Sydney. From Circular Quay it is a short stroll to the Opera House, Botanic Gardens and Hyde Park.
The historic Rocks, Barangaroo Reserve, Museum of Contemporary Art, Observatory Hill, the SH Ervin Art Gallery, and the Art Gallery of NSW, are all within walking distance from Circular Quay.
The apartment is about 15-25 minutes by taxi from the airport depending on time of travel and the fare is approximately $60AUD which includes the tolls.
You will find this one bedroom apartment very comfortable, bright and clean, and tastefully furnished with modern appliances and a fully equipped kitchen. All linen is supplied.

The boutique village of Kirribilli has many specialty shops, cafes and restaurants, and everything you would need for a holiday or business stay. It is a 10-15 minute scenic walk from the apartment to Kirribilli and Milson's Point. This is a very popular destination for locals and visitors. The local train station is at Milson's Point and access to the Harbour Bridge by foot. The CBD of North Sydney is a 10-15 minute walk.
A car is not necessary during your stay with all transport close by.
The bedroom consists of a comfortable queen bed and large built in wardrobe for two. There are double blinds on the windows for complete privacy, and sash windows which open and lock for security. There is a clock radio with an iPod docking station in the bedroom.
The bathroom is modern, clean and bright with an adjustable shower and no bath. There is a hairdryer and a combination washer/dryer in the bathroom cupboard.
The study is a comfortable bright room with a sofa and desk.
The lounge/living and dining area are open plan with great views of Careening Cove and Sydney Harbour. The night lights across the water are stunning.
For your entertainment there is a modern smart TV, IPod docking station, games, novels and magazines, provided for your enjoyment.
After a day out relax in the back garden (shared with other building tenants), and enjoy the scenery, boats in the cove, and lovely harbour views with a glass of wine or cup of tea. Outdoor tables and chairs are provided.
There is a clothesline on the side of the building for your use.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped with all modern appliances including an electric oven/microwave combo, 2 gas burners and a dishwasher. The fridge and freezer are a good size with an ice maker in the freezer.
A coffee plunger and stove top coffee maker are available with coffee and tea provided for your arrival.
There are basic condiments in the apartment for your use.
All windows can be opened, most with flyscreens. Portable heaters and fans are provided for your comfort.
This is a quiet street at the end of a cul-de-sac. At times there may be building maintenance work or construction/renovation work taking place on the street which is beyond our control.
Overall you will find this apartment very comfortable and you can't beat this stunning convenient waterfront location so close to the ferry and Sydney.

This apartment's listing was accurately described but exceeded our expectations. Its situation offered not only a tranquil location but also close proximity and easy access to the city, should you ever want to leave North Sydney. Thoughtful, personal touches were evident in the apartment and very useful information about the surrounding ammenities. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay and would highly recommend it to others, except when we want to use it again.
This is a perfect place for a quiet stay with great water views, nearby ferry, and vibrant local community. The kitchen and bathroom are modern. We saw a fun play at the local theatre and enjoyed nearby restaurants. You can see all the boats in the harbor and the layout has the same precision of an elegant ship. Highly recommended.
This place was fantastic. Having had many good HomeAway experiences before, I would still say that this was one of the best. We stayed here for the last week of a two month around the world trip and couldn't have been happier with the decision. From the very beginning, their communication was great; it was the first sign of good things to come!
We were particularly impressed with how the apartment was very clean and well taken care of. They have clearly invested in nice furniture, linens, and fixtures, and their cleaning staff does a great job. The apartment was also well-stocked, which was an unexpected bonus. For example, there was shampoo, etc. in the bathroom, detergent for the washing machine and dishwasher, and lots of pantry basic like sugar, tea, etc. As you can see from the pictures, the kitchen is small, but had everything we needed to keep our food and cook breakfast. Also, the view from the table is phenomenal. It was such a treat to enjoy breakfast there, or drink the coffee or wine and eat chocolates they leave for you!
The location is superb. We loved taking the ferry into the city and also walked into Kirribilli's center/to the train many times. If you are up for a slightly longer walk, it's quite nice to walk from the city center over the bridge to the house. It's in a beautiful and very well-located neighborhood.
Finally, in a previous review someone said that this place is almost nicer than the pictures. I would agree and also say that that's what you want in a good hotel or HomeAway rental. It's great if it looks good on a screen thousands or miles away, but what you really want is a place that will be fantastic when you are there. Highly recommended!
Also, while you are there, if you like neat coffee shops, be sure to check out Bay 10 Espresso in Kirribilli and Celsius Coffee. We also went to the Botanist for dinner and liked that a lot as well.

I walked in and felt I could live here for the rest of my life and be completely content. This apartment was immaculately clean, well appointed, and very lovely. The built in window seat looking out onto Careening Cove provided the perfect spot to start the day sipping coffee, and we usually ended our day there with a glass of wine. The bed was so comfortable, and the neighborhood so quiet, that I slept soundly every night. Kirribilli has wonderful coffee, bakeries, and restaurants right in the neighborhood. But if you want to go out and explore - this gorgeous apartment is steps away from the ferry, 10 min walk to the train, and 25 min walk across Harbour Bridge to downtown Sydney. Carla is a wonderful host, and she left wine, coffee, and plenty of info at the apartment for us. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. You'd be crazy not to!
Location is convenient to ferry wharf, which we used to go anywhere. It was very clean and well equipped.
There wasn't anything we needed that wasn't there. The weather was hot ,and we couldn't get enough air into apt.to be comfortable. Air conditioner would be great, or more fans and windows that have screens and fully open.

This is the perfect location on picturesque Careening Cove, North Sydney. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood with transport and other conveniences nearby.
It is a 35 minutes walk across the Harbour bridge to Circular Quay and The Rocks.
The ferry to Circular Quay and the CBD, is less than 2 minutes from the apartment, and takes about 10-15 minutes. Enjoy the great views of the Harbour, Opera House and Harbour bridge.
Opal cards are available at Circular Quay Ferry Wharf 5 and other outlets. Details can be found online.These are great value for travel by ferry, bus and train.
A local phone SIM card is recommended which can be bought at the airport.
From Circular Quay you can walk to many sites including the Opera House, Botanic Gardens, Art Gallery of NSW, Darling Harbour, The Sydney Fish Markets, Chinatown, Hyde Park, and the historic precinct of The Rocks.
Manly Beach, Neutral Bay, Balmoral Beach, Cockatoo Island, Taronga Zoo, as well as the Museum of Contemporary Art and many other galleries and museums are all within reach by foot, ferry, train or bus. Transport is plentiful.
The well known Luna (amusement) Park is a 15-20 minute walk from the apartment.
The small village of Kirribilli is 10 minutes walk away and is very popular with locals and visitors. There is a nice shortcut from the apartment through Milson's Park. At Kirribilli you will find interesting boutique shops, all amenities and groceries for your stay, as well as a great range of quality restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes. Markets are held regularly.
A short scenic walk down a quiet lane will take you to the Careening Cove Marina at Milson's Park as well as the Ensemble Theatre where live performances are held on a regular basis. This is also a scenic route to walk to Kirribilli.
Ferry travel is the best way to see the sights and there are many options for day trips and sunset dinner tours.
The bus and train stations are a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment. Milsons Point train station is closest.
The apartment is a 20-30 minutes drive from Sydney's International and Domestic airport. The cost is about $60 by taxi cab. You can also take a train from the airport to Circular Quay, and then board a ferry from wharf 4 to North Sydney (Neutral Bay ferry). It is a two minute walk to the apartment from the ferry!
This apartment sleeps 1-2 adults maximum in one queen bed, suitable for non-smokers only. This apartment is unsuitable for children and there is no wheel chair access.

For cancellations made within 14 days of arrival, 50% of the full accommodation amount paid will be refunded. This excludes the cleaning/servicing fee.
