100ft of Lake Winnipesaukee waterfront & 30 ft dock make this the perfect get away retreat! This rustic two bedroom 3/4 bathroom cottage is located in the prestigious Spindle Point community of Meredith. Set back on a knoll with a wooded lot this property offers magnificent views of the lake & mountains, you may even peep a few loons! Natural pathway down to the water, enjoy the sandy bottom and dock or sit back and relax on the wooden chair swing overlooking the lake & dock. Also includes a row boat for tenant use, a horse shoe pit, picnic table, gas grill, and plenty of space to play. Enter the property through a screened in porch, into an open living area with lake views, this room includes a pull out sofa bed. Enjoy the wood burning fire place creating that perfect rustic ambiance. The kitchen is located off the living room, it may be small in size but has everything you need! One bedroom includes one full size bed and the second bedroom includes 2 twins. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors being just 5 miles away from Meredith's town center!
Overall it's a nice little place. Yes Little. It says it can sleep 6, but I would say a family of 4 is the most you'd want there especially if you bring Fido. Landscaping in the pictures is a bit over grown. But who cares? The bottom line is, it's in a quiet area with very little car traffic. It's just a short trip down the path to the dock and lake. Water is deep enough off the dock to do plenty of jumping, a decent shallow area with a sandy bottom and space for a smaller boat if you bring one. It has a row boat, but we didn't use it. Easy drive into downtown Meredith, groceries, restaurants, ice cream, etc.... (I recommend the sculpture walk down along the water, very cool stuff) and not too far from kid friendly attractions like Funspot, Mini Golf, Go Karts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages and the Weirs. Plus, if you want to get north to attractions like Whales Tale, Story Land or Santa's Village it's about 20 minutes to I-93. If you bring a dog, make sure it doesn't like to roam as there are a ton of other K-9's in the area. I was also pleasantly surprised to find horseshoe pits and make sure to use the bungee cords on the trash cans. Critters got into one over night. Lesson learned. Overall, it doesn't have upscale amenities, so if you want those look for something else. No cable, no wifi, tiny galley kitchen and we loved every minute of it. I would highly recommend this for a small family that just wants to get away from it all and relax.
Lake Winnipesaukee is the 2nd largest lake in New England. The area around the lake is known as the Lakes Region. There are 3 boats that take visitors for outings on Lake Winnipesaukee, the Mount Washington being the largest and best known. A wide variety of restaurants are available. Many hiking and biking trails are close by. Good shopping in Tilton and North Conway outlets nearby plus there is no sales tax in NH! To the north you can visit Mount Washington or visit the Flumes, Storyland, Heritage, Santa's Village, Six Gun City, Polar Caves and many more attractions all within 1 hour of your stay. In Moultonborough there is the Loon Center and Castle in the Clouds. Nearby attractions include the Squam Lakes Science Center, Canterbury Shaker Village, etc. Go to Weirs Beach and walk on the boardwalk enjoying old fashion arcades, video games, miniature golf, cotton candy, fudge, slush and fried dough.. There is so much to do on and around Lake Winnipesuakee.
