About Angela and Andy Faxon

We are Wyoming natives and have lived in Laramie for many, many years. We have raised 6 children and now have 4 (soon to be 6) grandchildren. We both work full time jobs, in addition to owning a local coffee shop, Turtle Rock Coffee located across from the University. Remodeling homes and landscaping is one of our passions, it keeps us busy in our “spare” time!

Why Angela and Andy Faxon chose Laramie

Growing up just 2 blocks from the Cottonwood Cottage, the neighborhood feels like home to me. Living in a university town we have a number of apartments houses, however we purchased this home in April 2015 and decided it would make a lovely vacation rental home. About 10 years ago we rented our first vacation home in Florida with our extended family and had the best time! You can’t beat everyone sharing a home with your family versus several motel rooms and everyone sitting on the beds to watch TV and having to eat all of your meals out. We now feel it is the only way to go and have rented many vacation homes in our travels! We love to feel like we are part of the community and to have a wonderful family home to visit new areas.

What makes this cottage unique

Cottonwood Cottage was built in the 1920's. We have retained many of the unique features of that era. The living room features an arched ceiling. There is still a fun built in for the phone and a phone book as well as built in cabinets in the dining room. The rooms are bright and sunny. The home is located in the "tree area" which is the older area of town just a couple of blocks south of the University's main campus. It is lovely to be able to walk through the neighborhood.

Charming and adorable, with so much character. We loved our stay.

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we walked into this beautiful cottage we felt welcome. We were greeted with some lovely treats and amazingly tastefully decorated rooms that were a good size (larger than I was expecting from the photo's) and toasty warm. The bathroom was fully stocked with fluffy towels and accessories, the kitchen was also very well stocked with essentials and more! The location was a perfect for us as it was near the University where out daughter was studying and not far from downtown. As big city dwellers we really enjoyed the change of pace of Laramie, the locals are so friendly and welcoming and this cottage added to our wonderful experience. We didn't get around to meeting the hosts Angela and Andy, but all details and instructions were very clear and our questions were answered promptly. We'll hopefully return and would definitely stay here again.

Cottonwood Cottage Respite

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely week we had at Cottonwood Cottage! Angela has thought of absolutely everything! Coffee and breakfast foods along with snacks to tie you over until you get to the grocery store. The decor is lovely - very tidy and cozy. We enjoyed the proximity to everything as we were moving our daughter onto campus for summer volleyball practices. Our only issue was the heat - which is a rarity in Laramie, so no air conditioning is normally just fine. Fresh air is one of the great delights of Wyoming. It was just a little bit tough to get a cool breeze through the house during our week. I can't wait to come back in the cooler months though!
