About this property

This beautiful home has been renovated and has everything you need to have a lovely time with a group or family. The oversized, indoor hot tub is fun for kids of all ages. Deck has an outdoor patio set with seating for 6 (spring, summer, and fall). Flowers and foliage during the warm months. Granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Nice windows with great morning light. High end, bamboo floors throughout with antique rugs to add character. Lots of eclectic art and decor.

All of the bedrooms have comfortable memory foam mattress and upgraded linens. We're kind of bed snobs, so that's to your benefit. Jetted tub in master bathroom with subway tiled walk in shower, double shower head, as well. Washer and Dryer included in the master closet.

Master bedroom has en-suite private bathroom with the jetted tub and shower. California King bed. Night stand and dressers are ready for your use. Double door entrance.

Second bedroom has a king size bed. Third bedroom has a full sized, memory foam mattress, bed. We also have 2 full sized, Ikea, fold out beds on the main living area. These serve as seating until it's easily opened up and folded out. Please request linens if you plan to use the fold out couches.

Kitchen has traditional ceramic and glass plates/bowls/glasses but also plastic plates, cups, bowls, and silver wear for the young ones. Blender, coffee maker, microwave, toaster as well.

Amazing cedar room with oversized swim spa/hot tub which is adjacent to the private deck and back yard. The swim room has a private, locking entrance. No need to worry about the weather to have fun here. It's entirely indoors and kept nice and warm. You can adjust the temp. Fun, led lights change the water color and molded seating keeps everyone comfortable. Towels for the spa room are included.

Beautiful bamboo wood flooring throughout home. Nice collection of eclectic art and decor. The kitchen has your cooking essentials.

Perfect mother-daughter getaway place

My 3 friends and our daughters really enjoyed our stay here! We did a lot of shopping at the outlet mall and indoor mall and came back in the evenings to enjoy time together hanging out in the hot tub and watching movies. Natalie was wonderfully responsive and helpful. Thanks so much for contributing to our fantastic weekend!

ISU Homecoming

Overall, the property was well-kept and served us well for our weekend trip. However, there were some hiccups in communication with the property manager and appropriate bedding for all guests. When we arrived at the property for check-in, the code that was provided to us did not work. We reached out to the property manager multiple times using the phone number they gave with no response. Ultimately, we reached out the Vrbo directly and they were able to provide the phone number of the co-owner of the property who was able to give us the correct code to unlock the door. Once inside, we realized that the two futons on the main level did not have any bedding. We had to reach out to the co-owner again who was finally able to get a hold of the property manager to tell us how to unlock the linen closet. We were able to find sheets for the futons, but no extra pillows or blankets so we had to share from the beds upstairs. While a slightly inconvenient start, the property is in a great location and all guests still thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Iowa Wedding

Property is located in the uptown part of Ankeny, IA but only a 5 or 10 minute drive to all the new developments around including the TOAST wedding venue. The cute little downtown has a great pizza and ice cream place and a nice bar/restaurant with rooftop dining available. This is all next to an extensive trail system that goes thru the downtown so if you want to jog, walk, or bike you are all set. The property was as advertised and was very comfortable for our family (all adults) with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms upstairs and a half bathroom downstairs. Would definitely stay there again.

Iowa visit

The house was perfect for our week with family. Had a wedding to go to and a reunion so we needed to make some food to take and share. This house was well stocked with cooking utensils so we were set! Only wish the hot tub had been a bit warmer.

Natalie was born and raised in the greater Des Moines area. Aaron is a converted Californian. We love to travel and believe that the vacation rental is the way to go, when you have a family. Everyone sleeps better and it's great to have the option to eat in, rather than always eat out, as in the case with a hotel.

We love art and eclectic textiles and linens. We have high standards and keep our home up to this standard. We like beautiful, nice things and believe that our environment effects how we feel and think. Beautiful finishes and nice, functional items makes for a great experience. We think you'll agree. We hope you'll come stay at our place and make great memories. Then come back again! We have been blessed with great things in this life and are happy to share.

Why they chose this property

This house is unique. It's a historic farmhouse which was built in 1890 but was taken down to studs and remodeled in the 1980's. When we purchased it, the house was in great shape but needed an interior face lift. There are a couple of art and wellness based businesses attached to the main level of the home (Photographer and Counselor) which have private, separate entrances. The tenants are very quiet, you won't even know they're there but it adds to the unique nature of this property.

The back of the house, which is the residence, is very private and was recently remodeled. We used the best materials and finishes because it was for our main residence. The spa house is exceptional, relaxing, and private. We purchased this house for it's walkability to nice parks, a pond, biking trails, local bars, the farmer's market, restaurants, the library, and more. The grocery store is a 5 minute drive. It's a very convenient location.

What makes this property unique

You'll love the oversized, indoor spa/hot tub. Our kids love it. They call it our pool. We love it because it's private and so luxurious but also detached from our main house and therefore, we can lock it and feel safe with our little ones close by. The backyard has a great deck with a gas grill, which we really enjoy during the warm months. Mature trees give the back some shade but our kids love to explore and roam around the back yard. It's fully fenced with privacy fence so it's a great place for them to run around.

We've taken great lengths to put a lot of great art and eclectic furniture in the house. We think you'll enjoy this part of the property. It's a very functional house and has a great flow. It's also beautiful and bright.
