Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!!!!

WOW! The living room view is fabulous! We all loved the living room, dining room and kitchen for hanging out and just enjoying visiting family and friends. And the location doesn't get any better....just a perfect location to walk to the village, the beach, and many wonderful restaurants. No need to rent a car... we just used Uber and Lyft for getting around if we wanted to explore further down the beach. My family didn't want to leave. So glad I found this special vacation rental!

Perfect location in La Jolla with easy access to Nicholson Point

Wonderful condo in a perfect location with all the amenities including a nicely equipped kitchen to cook in while looking out over the ocean! Easy access to Nicholson Point and the La Jolla Cove tide pools (just a block to the public beach access) and everything you want to do and see in La Jolla surrounds you within easy walking distance. Comfortable beds, great seating areas, perfect views, nice side patio nestled by ficus trees...sub tropical loveliness everywhere you look. You can hear the surf at night when all is quiet while relaxing on the patio. Nice to have the designated parking for this unit as well! This is definitely a 5 star property at a great price. Loved our stay, will do it again! The property manager has thought of everything, so you don't have to!!!

It's nice to wake up in the morning, get a cup of coffee and just stare out of the window at this excellent condo. Lots of great food within walking distance. Comfortable beds. Cool, funky, retro furnishings. What's not to like?

We loved our stay at this property. It is clean and the view is very nice, we ate in most nights because of it's comfort and beauty. It's a convenient location, beaches everywhere, one in walking distance. The unit is stocked with many items that make travel so much easier, and has some beach items like boogie boards and chairs. The only thing we didn't like was that the sheets smelled of a terribly strong chemical odor, so bad my husband had to sleep in a sleeping bag the entire time. That's not something we've come across, as all the VBRO and hotels we've stayed in have a neutral smell. However, I didn't feel this was worth downrating because the owner probably just didn't know that some people dislike extremely strong chemical fragrance. But if you dislike chemical odor or are sensitive to those chemicals, you may want to reconsider. Luckily, this would be a very easy switch for the owner to make, then it would be truly perfect. I'd stay here again for sure if another detergent was used. Thanks for a good time!

Pretty views, nice location, but needs some tender love and care

My husband, son and I stayed for 4 days April. The neighborhood is very pretty and quiet (if that is what you are looking for). There is one parking spot and you climb one flight of stairs to get into the condo (it's on the 2nd floor). The view from the condo is pretty and the condo is within a short walk to the to the beach. Unfortunately the large picture windows with the view of the ocean do not open, so it gets quite warm in the afternoon even with the AC running, so we ended up closing the blinds most afternoons. The beds (king and queen ) were comfortable with nice quality of linens. We did not use the sleeper sofa in the den. I think it would be very tight to have two adults in there--better for 2 small children or one teenager. We just used it as a den. The kitchen was adequately appointed for a short visit and the dining room table and chairs were fine. The living room is very minimally furnished--1 black leather sofa which isn't very comfortable, an ottoman, and hard white plastic barstool like chairs. It wouldn't be comfortable if you had a family of 6 trying to watch a movie. We managed with just the 3 of us with one person on the floor.

The condo is in need of some basic maintenance:

1) Smoke detectors--there do not seem to be any smoke/carbon monoxide detectors in the unit. They have all been removed (from hall, dining room, and 2 bedrooms).

2) Master shower--when you pull up on the valve to enable the shower mode only half the water goes to the shower head and the rest goes down the drain. Also, the shower head sprays out at random angles and needs replaced or serviced.

3) Kitchen sink--almost no hot water. Luke warm at best. Not good for washing dishes.

4) Hot pads--only 1 present. Kind of hard to cook with only 1.

5) No can opener. We had to go and buy one (so there is one now!).

6) Master bedroom bathroom window doesn't close all the way.

7) Light bulb in corner of living room is missing light--and looks like it is missing the socket for the light.

8) Fan in the hall bathroom is super loud--will probably wake the whole building.

9) Dishwasher--we had trouble getting the large plates to fit and for the dishwasher to do a good job cleaning. Perhaps user error but no real directions. Ran multiple cycles to end up handwashing.

Anyway, we sent all these comments except # 8/9 to property management on day 2 of our visit, and the response was they would forward them to the owners for consideration.

Owner's Response: While we find this review to be greatly exaggerated, we did follow up and have fixed the items that needed fixing. The smoke/carbon monoxide detectors had been taken off to replace the batteries.
