We arrived Friday evening looking forward to a weekend with family, friends, and admittingly, a few adult beverages to share stories by the fire since last we met. The house proved more beautiful in person than in pictures, like the perfect tender date, like a match made in heaven.
A coating of snow covered the road, the perfect Saturday full of skiing and snowboarding.
The hot tub was an added bonus, it warmed not only our winter chilled bodies our cold hearts, but also the bond of friendship that had cooled with time spent apart. At 104 degrees it easily accomplished this task. as the clock approached midnight a light chilled rain fell upon this house full of 7 fast friends.
The sky was a beautiful red, stars a plenty and we felt a tranquility in our hearts.
We told stories, spotted deer, most of all we made memories, fun had by all!
I would highly recommend this house! It was very spacious, comfy, and clean. The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need! The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment, even cookie sheets! The beds were very comfy. We were able to sleep 9 adults comfortably. The fire pit outside was great to make s'mores and enjoy the warm fire; we played cornhole (supplied by the owner) and took advantage of the hot tub both nights we were there. The living room and kitchen area are both very spacious. The property manager, Frank was a pleasure to work with, he was very responsive and provided a very helpful welcome packet. The surrounding area is very beautiful. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a spacious, comfy and clean house! Our group is looking forward to going back soon!
This chalet was a home away from home! We had such a nice stay. It was well kept, clean and spacious. The house is tucked back onto a dead end street which makes it very quiet with not a lot of through traffic. Great for walking with the kids and pup. The gated community is huge with multiple lakes and pools and plenty to do. We spent much of our time at the lake and then relaxing in the hot tub at night. Our kids did not want to leave at the end of the week! We highly recommend the home and the community.
The listing was accurate regarding layout, amenities and space. The property was clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with nice dishes and glassware, and there was even a grill on the deck (which we didn't know about beforehand). The manager was cooperative and friendly. I would recommend this property. The pools were great, and the two lakes we visited was very nice. The only caveat was that there was no lifeguard on duty either time we were at a lake (I think perhaps there are lifeguards on weekends). There were lifeguards at the pools. The house is very big, very comfortable. We were six adults, one child and one large dog, and we had plenty of room. I would go back again, except for one fact that has nothing to do with the house itself. The private community the house is in is far from shopping, restaurants, places to see, etc. Although there is a deli/food mart on the edge of the property, even to buy groceries is a long drive. If this is not a concern, then this house is great. If that is a concern, then another community would serve you better. The house itself is terrific.
Plenty of room for our family of 8. A large living area and room to spread out. Able to cook in or eat out. Located in a friendly community that provides a quiet and private setting. We enjoyed taking walks, swimming, and spending time on the deck. After dinner we relaxed by the fire pit. My spouse wakes early even on vacation but not here. The upstairs bedroom was so quiet and comfortable to my surprise, she slept in. Clean, comfortable and relaxing. We are looking forward to returning.
PROS: This house is very roomy for a large group (we had 10 people and 2 dogs), yet cozy! Kitchen is big and very well stocked with utensils, dishes and cooking supplies (although we never did find a cutting board!). Lots of large windows in main room lets in plenty of natural light. Propane fireplace provides both warmth and ambience. Multiple separate thermostats in entire household makes it possible for all to be comfortable. French doors close off small room with front and back doors from rest of house; this was a convenient place to put the dogs' beds and close them off from rest of house as needed. CONS: Bring your own extra toilet paper; glad we did as there was only one roll of TP there! Owner should put up more coat hooks that don't fall out of the wall with only one coat on it! Website doesn't clearly show room sizes: first floor - double bed in small room; 2 twin beds in slightly larger room; queen size pullout (thin mattress) in main living room; second floor - double size futon in loft area; HUGE room with private bathroom and walk-in closet with queen size bed. Huge bedroom upstairs could easily accommodate another bed. With a house this size, having one bathroom that is "private" wasn't very convenient.
Unfortunately, the weather was incredibly cold, so we never got a chance to use the fire pit or hot tub.
