There is something for everyone here, whether it be swimming , boating, fishing, or exploring the coast on the DOC built Boardwalks in amongst the mangroves, or just purley relaxing.
Take Captain Percy's Cruise- Boat up the Ngunguru river and learn about the amazing history of this area.
The area and it's river are steeped in colonial history, but it is just as modern as any beach resort area in NZ.
There are also cruises from Tutukaka to the Poor Knights Marine Reserve where you can swim among the fish and view stunning sea life. It will blow your mind.
There is a wonderfully safe and huge play-ground/park for children, only 100m from the house.
There is a walkway near the house that leads to the water, only 75m.
The Ngunguru Country Club is only 400m away from the house and has a restuarant, together with a 9 hole golf course also with bowling and tennis facilites.
There are loads of walks, Lighthouse Point is spectacular. Phamphlets about them are available in most of the shops.
Salt Air Cafe in Ngunguru located 20m from the water, serves amazing breads and delicious meals and the best coffee in Northland.
Alternatively,get fish and chips from Ngunguru Takeways and enjoy the meal across the road on the water.
Ngunguru has it's own Food Mart and virtually has everything you will need for your stay.
Tutukaka also has fabulous eaterys. Try Schnapper Rock Pub, Oceans Hotel or the Game Club for world class food and Service.
Oceans Hotel also houses the Tutukaka Gallery where a lot of local artisians show and sell their wares. There are some stunning pieces to be had here !!..
You can safely swim anywhere here. There are many nearby bays you can visit (ie: Wholleys Bay, Sandy Bay, Matapouri and the world renown Whale Bay) all of which are only 10 - 15mins by car away from Ngunguru.
Dolphins and Whales are common visitors here.

Plenty off-street parking andamp; double garage. Huge chidrens play park 100m. Great 9 hole golf 300ms.
Ok. But be prepared to find accommodation elsewhere if there is a power outage coz you won't get back up power or water as water depends on power here. had to cut my trip short due to an outage.

Property was in great condition and excellent, quiet location close to the estuary. Parking for boat was great.
