Relaxing in Peace
This cabin is wonderful! It was clean and welcoming. The views that you get from the many windows inside and on the deck are beautiful. You feel secluded from the world with all of the trees around. I did the short hike up to the top of the mountain and the view was well worth it! You can sit on the bench at the top and see the lake and mountain view. There were even a few benches along the trail that I used to take a break. And to end the day, I relaxed in the hot tub! My stay was relaxing and peaceful. I am looking forward to returning.

Little piece of heaven
This was a wonderful getaway from the world. It is an adorable cabin with a comfy master bed and cute kids' nook, super comfy couches, and a fun movie selection. We loved stargazing from the hot tub, hiking the trails, and enjoying the swings up on the mountain. The quiet mountains and great views let us feel secluded even though town was only 20 minutes away. There was a great hammock spot we enjoyed, and even though I chose to keep my phone turned off, it was an added perk that there was Wifi if I wanted to get connected with the outside world. Thanks so much for sharing your little piece of heaven! We will definitely be visiting again.

A blessing !
Wow! This place is beautiful!! Tucked away in the hills of NC. The view was stunning(especially the hike up around the property). We loved the swing. Watching my youngest girl swing was such and enjoyment because she loved it ! The cabin was clean ,they provided so much and even a nice laundry room! Places to sit outside like a table with unbrella, picnic table and hammocks! Hot tub was very nice !! The kids absolutely loved the loft with a comfy Queen and also a air matress that you just plug in and fills up and is comfortable! Games , movies and relaxation. Queen in bedroim downstairs that was very comfy and two pull out couches. Plenty of room and they provided extra blankets. This place was so lovely !!! We went to a local trout farm and did some tubing. Enjoyed the Nantahala. No wifi or cell service so that was great to disconnect. So take your family and let them catch their supper and play some ganes and enjoy the blessings you have in this nice gettaway:) I am from the mountains and hills of Tennessee and beauty runs deep here but to me NC is the next best thing to me :) Great host too !! Super nice and fast response!!

Our family of 6 loves unplugging, getting away from our busy lives and connecting with nature! We enjoy renting a pontoon boat, tubing on Nantahala Lake and jumping off a rope swing on Rabbit Island. Our favorite thing is sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows and eating Dads Dutch oven peach cobbler. As a parent it's a great place to really connect as a family.

Why they chose this property

We are conveniently located close to the "Sky Chapel", Glen Choga Lodge, Nantahala Gorge (Nantahala Outdoor Center - NOC), Lake Nantahala, and the "Tail of the Dragon".
This property has been in my family for nearly 200 years. We have Native American roots and named the cabin after my mother who we affectionately call Running Squirrel. Our land boasts wild turkey, deer, rabbits, and of course squirrels! If you are looking for privacy and to disconnect from the distractions of the world, this is the place.

What makes this property unique

You feel secluded surrounded by 17 acres of trees tucked between two mountain ridges as well as the breathtaking mountain top view of the lake. Relaxing in the hot tub while enjoying the mountain views is spectacular. Stargazing with little light pollution is remarkable.
