Cape Panwa is a really lovely part of Phuket Island, the property is close to Chalong Bay/Pier (where most of the sea-based activities depart from like scuba diving) and Ao-Yon beaches (2 min walk). Local restaurants and bars are nearby and is great for 'getting away from it all'. Perfect for Honeymoons or family getaways with kids, Summer/Autumn discounts available.

Hi, my names Nick and this is my dream property in the Sun. Its a real luxury home from home, interior designed and quite spectacular.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2003
Cape Panwa has turned out to be a good choice of location in Phuket to own and stay at when I visit the island. I spent a while looking around Phuket and this area when I bought was uncrowded and peaceful -it still is really and although there are now more bars and restaurants in the area than 10 years ago it has kept its charm.
I got to assist in the design of the property including things like glass blocks for more light, floor to ceiling windows to make the best of the stunning views and also got an interior design Company in to add those finishing touches that make this such an exceptional place to stay, you won't be disappointed.
Although we never go back to the same place because of the fact that the wow-factor may have disappeared we decided to return. (See review 2013) Well, we were not disappointed, the wow-factor was still there! In fact it felt like coming home! This time we rented a car from the airport but we noticed there are a lot of small taxistands now. Also the area has developed a lot and there are beds on the beach now. A lot of restaurants for every taste and price but we find the local ones still the best especially Sawasdee 2 (also recommended by the owner). The pictures of the apartment also do not lie, what you see is what you get. There is too much to mention (we used the same trip operator and the kids went diving!) and I plan to write a summary to the owner. I am sure he will send it to you if you ask, he has been very helpful, or you can ask my email. I can tell you that this has not been the last time we made use of this place. For us it's a little paradise to chill, to enjoy good restaurants away from big crowds. Thank you again Nick!
Wir haben eine wunderschöne Zeit in einem tollen Penthouse mit einer phantastischen Aussicht verbringen können und würden jederzeit dort wieder Urlaub machen. Die Lage bis zu 2 Stränden ist wirklich toll und sehr nah (80 m und 200 m). Fast keine Touristen, sondern meist menschenleer auch in der Hauptsaison. Am weiter entfernten Strand sind ein paar schöne, einfache Strandrestaurants gut fußläufig erreichbar und sehr preisgünstig.Eine Segelschule ist direkt gegenüber muss man aber am besten vorher reservieren.
Reinigungsservice hat super geklappt und kam 2mal in der Woche. Internet war auch gut. Der Pool nur ein paar Stufen entfernt. Sehr nette Mitbewohner in der Anlage. Auf jeden Fall würden wir wieder dieses Penthouse buchen wenn wir wieder nach Phuket reisen. Ein Auto ist aber ratsam.
The second time here. The only location where I came back to stay in my whole Life- I travel a lot.... As well as before 3 Years, werry good keeped. The pol alway clean and warm. The neighbur, Owner of the rest, John, with his Thai Woman, are wery nice and interesting People, friendly also. She can manage a lot, can show you the Area, can cook for a god price at her or Your's (Nick's) Penthouse. (She has a Thai cooking scool) . can also answer if you need a Massage or girls...The Penthouse is gorgeous, plenty of Square meters, unusual for us, Turists from expensive towns in Europe, where 100 sq7m cost millions of Euro. The sea below, is almost for you sels , thai people living there never go to the beach.
Like all the other reviews, this place is excellent. Actually when I am writing this, we are still in the penthouse. But it's our last day. We stayed with a family of 4 (2 kids age 14 and 17) and initialy a bit afraid there was not a lot to do for them. They loved it! This place is really for chilling, good food closeby, a good housekeeper and a taxidriver around the corner. Although we do recommend to rent a car to do some exploration at your own pace. As a right hand driver I quickly adapted to the traffic and people do not drive very fast, go with the flow! We went to Patong beach and are glad to have stayed in a quiet and safe area. The penthouse is equipped with everything you need: wifi and satellite dish for those who cannot cope without screens.
By accident we came against Jamie Monks blog, there you will find some very handy tips although some may be outdated.
We can certainly recommend this place.

we have spent 2 weeks in the apartment (family of 4/kids 5 and 7 years) and have enjoued every second of it . the location of the apartment is ideal if you want to get away from the masses and enjoy yourself - the 2 beaches close to it offer all you can ask for and the restaurants close by are offering fantastic thai food .
cape panwa with shops and restaurants is a stone throw away (you would need a car anyway) and if you really need to see many tourists then its also quite quick (30 minutes) to be in karom,kata or patong....
we enjoyed it so much, we are already considering to go back !,,,,,,
Myself & my family choose to stay here for christmas, we didnt want to be anywhere busy so the apartment looked perfect, and it was! I knew we had made the right decision as soon as we drove into cape panwa from airport! The scenery is amazing.
Firstly, the apartment itself was perfect, very luxurious and huge!! Views out to sea from every room, myself and hubby enjoyed sitting on balcony and watching sunrise every morning over the bay, and then on an evening with a cold beer!!
Wifi was great, worked everytime and was very quick.
The lovely caretaker, met us on arrival was at the other end of phone if we needed anything (car hire, advice on local markets).
I would advise hiring a car, just to get to the local restuarants and shops, although that said we didnt for the first 4 days.
When you come out of the apartment if you turn right and head up the hill, there is a restuarant/hotel called cloud 19 which served amazing food, fantastic service and beautiful surroundings, 4 of us eating starter/main and 2 drinks each worked out approx £60, quiet expensive for Thailand but worth every penny.
If you turn left when you come out of the apartment and walk ten mins you will come to a restaurant called The ship (this was my favorite), half the price of cloud 19 and beautiful food!! always a really good atmosphere and right on the sea front too. (a further ten min walk from here there is a local family mart with ATM) and chemist lots more bars and restuarants down this way.
We enjoyed our stay here so much there was nothing I would have changed. The penthouse was by far the best place I have ever stayed in and I have travelled. No noisey neigbours, very little traffic passing pure bliss!!
I would love to return to the penthouse. If you are looking for a relaxing/winding down peaceful/romantic place to stay this is ideal for you!!

Two practically deserted fine white sand beaches are minutes walk from the property for relaxing strolls.
Nearby attractions: local sailing club, very close to Ao-Yon, Chalong Bays. Very 'child friendly' area -kids love splashing in the pool or down on the beach. Phuket Aquarium and Zoo close by (10 min drive). Hotels and restaurants including 'Ma's Kitchen' for authentic tasty Thai dishes, Bandara Bar, 'The Ship' bar and recently opened 'Ocean19' or perhaps Phuket Lobster or Sea Bass on the beach...
Phuket: Some of Thailand's most famous National Parks are close by for kayaking, rafting, elephant trekking and long-tail boat trips. 3 Major Golf courses on the island, finally, for scuba diving enthusiasts, some of the finest dive sites in the World await you, for day trips or longer, in the Andaman Sea and the East Coast is where most of the sea-based action is...
Other Activities: Sailing club, Kayaking, boat hire, soon@Ocean19: jetski.
Golf: If you are going to Phuket for the golf I probably don't have to add anything else here -quite simply some of the best in Asia. The property sits about 20-30 min drive from the nearest course. You could opt for a golf-situated property of course but then you would miss the magnificent sea-views and lazy beach walks at the end of a hard days putting and your on an island with some of the best views around (at least from the Penthouse!)
Ski: The nearest slopes are at least 3000 miles away don't even think about bringing your snowboard to Phuket! :o)
