Beautiful property, Helpful host

This property is exactly as pictured. It is very comfortable, and has everything you would need for an enjoyable stay. We were particularly happy to be staying in such a lovely place during covid. It is walking distance into the downtown area, where you can grocery shop or enjoy dining out. The outdoor space is comfortable and private.

Fantastic VRBO!

One of, if not the best, vacation rental properties that we've stayed at! Great location that is close to restaurants, stores and wineries; relaxing property with tons of outdoor space; beautiful house that is extremely well-stocked and very comfortable! I would definitely recommend staying here!

Great little house

House was nice on the inside. Wish it had at least another half bath since we had 7 adults. Check in was easy. Joe came to see us when we arrived to go over everything. He was great. Used washing machine and dryer. Used the outdoor grill as well as cooking other meals. Some of cooking pots and pans need to be replaced. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms clean and nice. House was in safe, good location for seeing San Francisco and areas north of there.

Great house!

We had a great stay for 6 weeks while we were in town looking for a home. We were delighted by the wild turkeys and deer that would appear in the backyard now and again. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed for a great stay.

Your host

Joe grew up in Racine, WI and enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps when he graduated high school. While in Vietnam, Joe's family moved to Novato, CA where they remain today. Joe planted roots in Novato as soon as he returned home; graduating from UC Berkeley, starting his own company and raising 3 children. Now retired from the insurance industry, Joe has built his dream home in Novato including a working vineyard, orchard and various gardens. When he's not traveling the world, he can be found working around the property. As he puts it, "I don't know what I do all day, but it takes all day long."

Joe's youngest,favorite and only, daughter, Lisa handles the rental for the guest house. She is a licensed real estate agent who has been working for Sotheby's International Realty, and greatly enjoys working with her dad on this property.

Why they chose this property

Joe had always dreamed of building his own home. After years of searching, he found the perfect 3 acre plot of land and began making his dreams come true. He built the main house, started the vineyard, orchard, and surrounding gardens, then moved on to building the guest house. Built in the same style as the main house, with custom designer features and a coveted location next to the creek, the guest house is the perfect retreat!
