About this property

Mountain Holiday Getaway; AZ Snowbowl Ski -1 Mi; Canyon 60 Mi

At a 7,400' elevation, Snowbowl Mountain Hideaway has magnificent views of the San Francisco Peaks and sits nestled in rural surroundings. The forest area is located near the front of house and is literally within 1 minute walking distance to trails for hiking/biking. Coconino County Permit # STR-24-0260.

This home has the best of both worlds. The back of house has a country-like setting which sprawls over 2 1/2 acres of natural grasses meadow terrain. Wildflowers crop up during the summer months where one hesitates to run the tractor to mow! The winter seasons bring wonderful snowfalls that leave picturesque views across the valley. A wooded area of ponderosa pines are scattered on the west side of the property. The side yard and all around the back of perimeter of yard is completely fenced in.

Here, one can sit and enjoy the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the deck/balcony in the morning, and cap off the day with a glass of wine in the evening - perhaps capturing the herds of elk heading down from the nearby forest to graze in the distant pastures. There is a variety of wildlife in the area; elk, deer, coyote, skunk, badger, raccoon, and even black bear. Overall, one never tires of taking in the serene sites of the countryside and mountain views. Other homes sit sprawled out on one or two acre lots.

In the evening, the extremely clear skies make this is a wonderful place to star gaze and one doesn't have to wait long before making a wish - seeing their first falling star of the night!

The house is approx. 1,800 sq feet. It has a Kitchen/Dining Room which is open to the main Living Room area. There is a wood burning stove that sits in this room supplying appealing warmth/ambiance for those chilly Fall and Winter seasons. A cathedral ceiling is over these rooms.

The Kitchen is a full kitchen with microwave, electric stove, and new LG stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher. There is a large pantry for storage. The Kitchen has ample counter space for preparing meals and for seating, in addition to the table in Dining area. The outside deck/balcony has an additional 500 sq feet of extra space with picnic table/umbrella along with deck furnishings for comfortable and relaxed seating to enjoy the great outdoors.

The Master Bedroom has a king-size bed, and is located on the west side of the house, with a full bathroom attached. There is also a large walk-in closet in the Master Bedroom. On the other side of the house, beyond the Kitchen/Living Room area, are the other two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have two single beds in each room/dressers/end tables. (The 3rd bedroom has a day bed with trundle, that easily pulls out to a single bed). There is a full bathroom across from these bedrooms and a utility room with washer/dryer accommodations. A fully stocked linen closet is located at the end of the hall.

In the Living Room area, a queen-size fold-out sofa bed can be utilized to accommodate additional guests upon requests.

All bedrooms/Dining/Living Room areas have glass (arcadia) doors that lead out onto the deck/balcony area in the backyard. All of these bedrooms have wonderful views of the Peaks. The laundry room features new washer and dryer and free-standing sink.

The two car garage sits separate from the house and has ample room for bikes etc. There is plenty of parking in the driveway if one has an RV or trailer.

Great getaway!
We visited for our daughter’s tenth birthday and it was a great family trip. The location is amazing. The property, size of the home, and the household amenities were fantastic. We visited AZ Snowbowl on the first day (almost right across the street) and relaxed and spent time together the next. There was still plenty of snow in late February and the property provided plenty of room for outdoor play for my four kids, ranging in age from 10 to 16. We recommend this place and would visit again.

Amazing Flagstaff Visit
We had an incredible stay at this property! Well cleaned, well maintained and excellent communication from owners. We loved the gorgeous snowy view from the kitchen and family room by the warmth of the wood burning fireplace, and our kids loved being able to play right outside in the snow! It was only a five minute drive to the Snowbowl parking area to take the shuttle to the ski slope. Our travel dates coincided with a winter storm-highly recommend a 4WD vehicle in order to safely navigate the area. Thank you, we will definitely be back! :)

Why they chose this property

The location of our home is in a rural/country setting and has spectacular views of the San Francisco Peaks/forest areas. The four seasons in Flagstaff have allowed our family to escape the heat of the Valley during the intense summer months while giving us the opportunity to enjoy fall and winter activities. This house is located approximately one hour from the Grand Canyon, and one mile away from the entrance road to Arizona Snowbowl Ski area. Nearby hiking/biking/sledding for all to enjoy. The home is a short distance from downtown Flagstaff.(appr. 7mi).

What makes this property unique

One of the main benefits of staying at this property is getting away from the busyness and fast-paced city life. Here one can relax, experiencing the tranquility of bygone days. This is how life should be — definitely more down time and outdoor living. Of course I can't stress enough the million dollar views from this property!
