About the host
Hosted by Sam and Maggi Saunders
That's us, sitting outside one of the restaurants in the square very close to our house. We spend about 3-4 months every year in Ceret and probably too much of that time in one of the 27 (at the last count) restaurants the town has! We have 11 grandkids (also at the last count), and many friends and other interests still in the UK, so we spend the rest of the year in Sheffield.
Why they chose this property
We are outdoor people and wanted a house in France close to both the sea and montains. We wanted to buy in a small town with a market, plenty of boulangeries and restaurants and cafes and atmosphere. That meant Provence (too expensive), or the Atlantic or Mediterranean side of the Pyrenees. We visited the Mediterranean side first, found the little gem that is Ceret and the rest is history.
What makes this property unique
Good WiFi, free calls to landlines (not mobiles) worldwide. Plus our mission statement is to leave the house equipped with the boring necessities of life. Who wants to go on holiday and have to buy toilet rolls, bin liners etc. Who wants a self-catering house where the owners just offer a 'starter pack' of 2 dish-washer tablets and one bin-liner?
