About Santo & Hayley Giorgio

"The Po'ipu Hideaway" was Santo & Hayley's first project together and reflects the fresh beginnings of their partnership. Today they raise their young family on the North Shore in Hayley's 'ohana hale that has been in her family for generations.

Santo C. Giorgio, owner of Design Concepts Hawaii (dchawaii.com), originally from California, has been involved in the field of architecture for the past 15 years. Hayley K. Giorgio [Ham Young], born in Ha’ena, Kaua’i, has worked in the field of interior design since 2007 and is a designer at Santo's Kilauea office.

"We thrive off the beauty and connectedness Kaua'i feeds us. When we’re not in the field we’re either in the water or outside enjoying life."

We love our house and Po'ipu. It's a great place for entertaining and we love it's modern design. Lots of space and such a treat for friends and family to share. Being part of a local-family neighborhood our property is unique in the sense that you get the opportunity to feel part of a new place. Some of our favorite restaurants and many of Po'ipu's beaches are minutes from our house. Truly a beautiful place to relax.

What makes this house unique

In our home we enjoy the modern design and comfortable climate Poipu has to offer. Everything is within walking or biking distance and typically when the rest of the island is raining we're still in that sunny bubble. Our home is perfect for family gatherings, a romantic couples getaway, and adult groups.

During the day, the electricity we consume is being generated by the sun ;) The hot water is made by that same solar energy too! Our intention is to be conscious and as involved as we can in using alternative forms of energy in order to preserve our environment and the Earth we are so grateful to be a part of... Doing what we can to make a difference.

Another unique benefit is that you're renting from a family that is from here and actually lives on Kaua'i. The relationship and consciousness we have for our island and community has significant depth. So when you stay at our property not only do you get to enjoy so much of the natural beauty our island offers, you're also genuinely helping our economy. We employ people on island to help manage our home and the income we make from our rental goes back into Kaua'i economy which is crucial, for Hawai'i's economy as well. We care about our neighbors and our island.

With that in mind, it is our goal to provide an authentic vacation model for the Kaua'i traveler. Aloha nui.

Not just a place to stay but a mojor component of the Aloha experience of Kauai.

The Hideaway's innovative design and easy to live in layout provided our family group of seven with a level of comfort and fun that suited our every need. The kitchen area is spacious and equipped to a very high standard and made preparing meals a breeze. The close location of the BBQ to the kitchen/dinning areas kept our inside and outside "Chefs" in contact.

The bedrooms, outside shower and all other amenities are exactly as seen on the VRBO website.

The location is on a suburban street but offers an unexpected level of privacy and quiet. The outside shower is well screened by palms and is the most refreshing of showers imaginable. Under cover off-street car parking for one vehicle is available, any additional ones can be parked on the verge.

The owner's representative lives nearby so is available to handle inquiries and problems should they arise.

If you choose to stay here hopefully you'll enjoy it as much as we did.

Great place to stay

Our stay here was awesome. There is pretty much everything you need including beach towels, beach toys, shampoo, conditioner, every pot and pan, mixer, rice maker, blender, I mean the list goes on. Also, Sara the property manager was extremely helpful and kind. The only thing I would suggest is some fine tuning on the bicycles. I'm sure other guests were less keen on them and maybe why there have been no issues thus far, but we rode them (or at least wanted to) everyday that we could and we experienced multiple flat tires - one actually leading to a pretty heafty tumble and a cracked phone :(. Other than that, the house was great! We sat around the giant table every night for games and utilized most of the cooking utensils each morning for breakfast. The outside shower is killer and the baths are one awesome way to end a long day of adventure. We used the backyard in the morning for yoga - utilizing the supplied yoga equipment - but didn't use the backyard much at night, mostly because of bugs but partly because we couldn't find where you turn the lights on. I Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in Poipu and getting the feel of living like a local. I/we would definitely stay here again. We all loved it!

Lovely home, well appointed, comfortable, safe community. Perfect for families.

It is a pleasure to recommend VRBO Property #410384 known as the Poipu Hideaway. We stayed there from May 4-13, 2017 and had a very positive experience. This home easily accommodated our group of 6 adults. It is a beautifully and thoughtfully designed home. The owners were kind and happy to accommodate our special requests. They were helpful and wanted us to be happy. We liked them very much.

Beds were comfortable, 3 private bathrooms had ample bathing features, the kitchen was generously stocked and a fun open environment to cook in. There is a nice gas grill near the kitchen. The dinning area is also fun, unique and very comfortable. We cooked nearly all our meals at home and had many happy dinners.

We found the location of the Poipu Hideaway to be a real plus. It was easy to get to the beach on foot, or to markets and restaurants by bike or car. This property is in a nice community of working families and we felt very safe here.

We highly recommend this property. Should you choose to rent it we hope you enjoy it and your time in Kauai as much as we did.

A very nice home within easy walking distance of Poipu Beach and shopping

We brought our immediate family of 6 adults and three children to Kauai and stayed 10 days in this home in March & early April 2017. This was the third trip to Kauai for the wife and I in 10 years, and it was our second time staying in Poipu, so we were very familiar with the area.

This home is very well ventilated which is nice for the weather, but does make it noisy in the early morning when the neighbors drive to work or the garbage trucks service the area.. The home is well maintained by a repairman nearby who responds to any needs.

In conclusion, a very nice home offered by very friendly people in a prime area of Kauai.
