Pippa and I live in Christchurch, Dorset, England. We have owned Palm Trees since 2002. We have fully renovated and furnished the apartment to create a romantic experience.
We feel Palm Trees has the ideal location at Glitter Bay. Palm Trees is located ideally at the end of Block 1 – nearest to the beach - of the Glitter Bay apartments. As such, we are a good distance from and do not hear the noisy road. We are opposite the pool, and close to the beach. We have great views across Palm Trees, the beautiful gardens, and the pool (lovely when lit-up in the evening).
We find staying at Palm Trees very relaxing. The Master bedroom is very romantic, with a massive super-comfy 4 posted bed, and an ensuite with marble countertop and large enclosed walk in shower.
Each time we come here we take time from our own holiday to try and ensure that all items of maintenance or repairs have been carried out to a good standard, and also to add further features or improvements to Palm Trees.
Our aim is to ensure that all our guests love it here as much as we do, and will want to return to stay at Palm Trees again and again.
We have, at last count, seventeen 5* independent reviews from happy guests who have all loved their holiday at Palm trees. Lots of guests return, one set of guests for the past 8 years ! Some like to stay a week, some even stay a month.
Kelvin Medley-Jones purchased this apartment in 2002
As they are all privately owned, the 40 Glitter Bay apartments vary greatly in location, tranquility, apartment facilities, quality of internal finish, and services provided to support guests. Choosing a Glitter Bay apartment for your holiday is choosing between very different standards of accommodation.
Our intention is to give our guests a 5* review holiday experience at good value, and competitively priced compared with other Glitter Bay apartments available.
Pippa and I try to monitor what other Glitter Bay owners and their agents offer in terms of quality, service, and price, and do our best to give our guests the best value for money.
The prices offered at Glitter Bay do vary a lot; we will not always be the cheapest, but we aim to give the best apartment holiday at Glitter Bay. We also try to offer late booking, or single bedroom use discounts on our published prices.
Pippa and I hope you have found our website helpful. We look forward to your enquiry and can let you have more information if you are considering Palm Trees for your next holiday.
Please do check out our guest reviews for independent opinions of Palm Trees.
The other features distinguish Palm Trees from other Glitter Bay apartments are:
. We have wireless Internet, flat screen TV in the lounge with Netflix for films and US TV series, a TV in the master bedroom, satellite TV sevice, a DVD player in the lounge.
Cool and Dry. The apartment is fully air conditioned, and the balcony has ceiling fans at both the dining and seating (as it can be very uncomfortable if you have dinner in the evening without a ceiling fan). We also have a sun awning to keep the balcony shady and cool for relaxing, and this and our wooden shutters keep the balcony dry if it rains. You can still relax and enjoy yourself on the Palm Trees balcony even when it rains !
Grocery deliveries for your arrival. We have established a relationship with a company locally (BC Discount) to allow our guests to pre-order for delivery groceries and other essentials for their arrival. Our guests can contact Sarah direct with a list of requirements, and pay her directly on arrival at Palm Trees (please note that we cannot be responsible if items delivered are not as requested). We do not make a charge for this introduction, but include it as “added value” to thank our guests for choosing Palm Trees.
Fun. We provide a few items to make your stay fun, such as our games libraries, snorkels masks and flippers, and a beach ball).
Barbados has amazing beaches and one of the best is at Glitter Bay. Palm Trees is a modern apartment and we have stayed there for many years.
There is an excellent daily cleaning lady and all the facilities you need including a lovely en-suite shower, the TV is tuned in to world channels including Premier League football.
The balcony is particularly charming with space for dining and beautiful views over one of the finest gardens on the Island with rare trees and fauna.
There is a swimming pool, easy beach access, tennis, and table tennis, and helpful staff.
The owners are lovely people who go out of their way to make sure that you have the most wonderful holiday experience.
All towels are supplied at the beach and apartment and shopping facilities are in Holetown where there are some lovely restaurants.
It is my favourite holiday destination and when we leave we count the days until we return, and feel it is our home when we arrive back.
Stuart J Marchant (Xmas/New Year 2004-2009)
It was a nervous return to Barbados for us, after 19 years ! We booked the holiday to celebrate my husbands birthday, and after spending a lot of time on the island with a lot of happy memories, before we had our children , we returned with our 3 teenage boys not sure what to expect. We needn't have worried as we were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The driver was there to meet us as promised at the airport and on arrival at the apartment Eleanor was waiting outside to greet us. The apartment is beautiful, clean and spacious. Now home in the cold we are already missing the outdoor balcony, with its views over the pool and gardens, where we had our breakfasts and evening drinks. Waking up to the sounds of the birds, and watching the family of monkeys playing from the balcony [ with their 3 babies ! ], then listening to the crickets at night was amazing.Eleanor looked after us really well and the apartment was always immaculate, and we even organised for groceries to be delivered there for our arrival through the owners. They have everything really well organised. The resort of Glitter bay was perfect, with one of the best beaches on the island, a lovely pool, and tennis courts which the boys also used. Sunbeds are allocated on arrival and are yours to keep for your stay, so you don't need to rush down to the beach in the mornings ! There are plenty of beach bars within walking distance along the beach, we enjoyed lunch at the Glitter bay Beach bar and at the Fairmont Royal Pavillion next door. These both stay open until the evening for drinks too..perfect for sunset and watching the flying fish. Be warned the Fairmont beach bar also shows football !! Which is kind of a double edged sword. Annoying if you have men that really can't bear to miss the premier league even when you are away for the week somewhere amazing , but also great if you are travelling with teenage boys as it enables you to enjoy 90 minutes peace and quiet in the sun .We were pleased that the West Coast hasn't been overdeveloped still, and has improved for the better, with a wider selection of bars and restaurants and the Limegrove shopping centre all nearby. There is a good selection of bars and restaurants , of all price ranges from rum shops and beach bars to the amazing restaurants. Lonestar is a short walk along the beach and is fantastic with great atmosphere. The resort is in a great central location. Would definitely recommend it and we will return soon. Thank you !
This was our first visit to Barbados and the apartment fully lived up to our expectations. The apartment has two great bedrooms with the best of furniture and linens, and a wonderful balcony for lazy breakfasts and lunches.
Careful thought went into every aspect of this apartment and it is ideally located for a great beach vacation.
Many thanks for the welcome pack which was gratefully received, and many thanks to Eleanor for her kind attentions.
Thank you for sharing this lovely apartment with us.
On arriving at the apartment, we were impressed by the cleanliness and attention to detail of everything. Lovely crisp white sheets, fluffy white towels and beautiful furniture. We were recommended this apartment by my brother who had stayed here previously and it did not disappoint. The location of Glitter Bay on the West Coast of Barbados is excellent. Lots of lovely restaurants in Holetown or a 10 minute stroll on the beach to JuJu's for lunch and Lonestar for lunch or dinner. We also had lunch at the Glitter Bay beach bar which was very good. A car is recommended however as the walk into Holetown can take 30-45 minutes on precarious paving which is sometimes non-existent! Finally I have saved the best til last and must mention Eleanor the maid who looked after the apartment to an extremely high standard. Nothing was too much trouble for her. I would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment.
This apartment is just perfect! It was our second visit to Glitter Bay, but our first time staying in 207. We were met by Eleanor, the Maid, with a cold bottle of Prosecco and Sprite for the children. Throughout our 3 week stay, Eleanor was an absolute pleasure to have around. She goes the extra mile for her guests and keeps the apartment in superb condition. You really couldn't ask for anything more to be included in this apartment, it has everything.
Our children, aged 12 and 15, vote Glitter Bay their best ever holidays as it has everything that children could want - super pool, beautiful beach, completely safe, amazing friendly staff, awesome wildlife (turtles, monkeys, crabs, tropical fish etc etc) and lots of other children to play with. And for adults it's pretty perfect, too!
There is a fairly new lunch bar that has opened up the beach - just past the Lone Star - called Santi, that we would highly recommend for lunch. And Alan (the GB barman) makes a mean Rum Sour!
We will definitely be going back to Glitter Bay, and to apartment 207!
We have recently returned from our 10 night stay at this wonderful apartment at the beautiful Glitter Bay resort. Loved everything about it, everything was just as described, if not better. The property was exceptionally clean and well maintained and it was oh so good to have such a comfortable bed. Palm Trees is very well located, right next to what we think is one of the best beaches in Barbados. Juju's bar is just a short stroll away which is ideal for a basic tasty snack and rum punch. Just a little further along is the more elegant Lone Star which we enjoyed for both evening and lunch time meals. Our favourite restaurant was Caribou, just a short drive away just past Holetown. Also enjoyed the Noodle Bar in Holetown. We would definitely recommend Palm Trees to anyone wishing to visit the beautiful island of Barbados. Our only disappointment is that it is already booked for when we want to return next year but have booked another apartment at Glitter Bay, only hope it comes up to the standard of Palm Trees that we so enjoyed.
We had a wonderful time at Palm Tree Villas and Barbados in general. It was our first time to the island and were unsure what to expect. It was relatively easy to get to from DFW. The people everywhere on the island were lovely and helpful. The food was delicious (expensive even in the casual spots but not dissimilar to other places in the Caribbean or Hawaii). Palm Tree Villas is on the West Coast and did not experience the seaweed problem the south and east coasts had. Although weather reports showed mainly rain, every day was more sun than clouds and rain was sporadic and short lived. They say it is the hottest time of year for them and in comparison to Mexico and other Caribbean islands, we thought it was lovely. There was always a cool breeze and you could easily sit outside day and night.
The Villa itself is in a great location. It was close enough to activities on the beach without being overrun with too many people. The beach itself was clean, soft sand, nice beach chairs, and good pool/beach service. The snorkeling off the beach was good with colorful fish, coral, and some turtles. It was walking distance to Fairmont, Lone Star and Ju Jus. All three were great for food and drinks (Glitter Bay's restaurant was closed while we were there). You'll want a car or to utilize the easy bus service to visit other places and Holetown (although it is walking distance, it is tricky on the main road).
Palm Trees villa itself was very nice. Beautifully updated kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable and beautiful beds, and a great balcony area. Eleanor came each day and as others have said, she is lovely. There is a washer and dryer in the villa and if you dont keep her too busy cleaning up, she will often do any laundry you have lying about.
The Villa and Barbados exceeded our expectations and we will definitely return.
Thank you for allowing us to use your wonderful villa.
