Gower View Penthouse is our family holiday home, enjoyed and loved by 3 generations. It is graded 5* by Visit Wales and we visit on a regular basis to ensure this standard is maintained. It is a modern duplex apartment located on the beachfront in Llanelli in the Millennium Coastal Park where more than 1500 acres have been given a spectacular face-lift to provide 22 km of beautifully restored coastline with stunning views of the Gower Peninsula, traffic-free cycling and exhilarating walks. This is a brilliant location for family holidays, cyclists, walkers, golfers, horse racing, bird watching and garden enthusiasts. The penthouse sleeps 6 people and has a light, spacious open plan kitchen and living area with full-length glass balconies on both sides. The spacious master bedroom has a king-sized bed, a balcony and an en suite. Both have spectacular views of the sandy beach and the sea beyond, we feel completely relaxed from the moment we arrive. The stunning sunsets viewed from the apartment are to die for! The penthouse is accessed from the third floor of the building and there is no lift.

The penthouse has free BT Infinity Wifi and BT Vision TV. It is tastefully furnished and has porcelain tiled floors with underfloor heating throughout. Both the second and third bedrooms have 2 single beds.

It is a brilliant location for family holidays with a choice of child friendly beaches. It is a wildlife haven and provides a wide range of activities, places to visit and sports particularly golf, with 17 courses less than 30 miles away. There are several excellent restaurants nearby, the nearest being just a 5 minute walk is the Sosban which has been voted AA restaurant of the year. Near to the Ffos Las racecourse, it is easily accessed from the M4 motorway.

A children’s playground with swings, slides etc is a 5 minute walk from the penthouse next to the visitor centre. The staff here are very helpful and will answer any questions you may have. It houses a cafeteria and ice-cream shop. There are excellent restaurants nearby, details can be found in the folder in the apartment.

Pembrey Country Park (20 minutes drive) has a dry ski slope, toboggan run, mini railway, nature trails, adventure playground, cycling and horse riding. Next door is the Welsh Motor Sports Centre .

Trostre Parc Shopping Centre is just 8 mins drive away, it has a 24 hour Tesco, M&S, Debenhams, BHS, Next, Clarks, Laura Ashley, Quick Siver, TKMaxx, Accessorize, Outlet, HMV, JJB Sports, B&Q, WH Smith. There are also McDonalds, Pizza Hut and other eateries. Parc y Scarlets, the new stadium for the Scarlets rugby team is just next door.

Llanelli leisure centre has 2 swimming pools, Fusion gym, squash courts, sports hall for badminton and trampolines.

There are 2 soft play centers for younger children nearby.

Indoor bowls is available in Llanelli at the Selwyn Samuel Centre and snooker at the Terry Griffiths Matchroom

There is a multi screen cinema and theatre in the town centre.

Folly Farm is a wonderful day out for all the family with indoor and outdoor activities.

Oakwood Theme Park with rides for all the family is on the A48 leaving the M4 at junction 49.

Swansea Waterfront has a spectacular new water based leisure centre with the UK's first standing surf machine, a thrilling ride called the Master Blaster, a lazy river, interactive pool, teaching lagoon, waterfall, water jets and fountains - the best water park around. Swansea and Carmarthen offer tenpin bowling and multi-screen cinemas - all good activities for wet days. Afan Forest Park is a popular destination for walking, cycling and orienteering and has mountain bike trails for all standards leave the M4 at junction 40.

There are 2 National Trust properties nearby - Dinefwr Park and the Dolaucothi Goldmines. Pendine Museum of Speed focuses on the use of the sands for land speed attempts and racing.

The penthouse is just 40 metres from the soft, sandy beach at the mouth of the estuary of the River Loughor, a 20 minutes’ drive to Pembrey Country Park which has access to the 7 mile long blue flag beach Cefn Sidan Sands.

It is 30 - 40 minutes to the beaches on the Gower, which include Rhossili, Mewslade Bay, Oxwich Bay, Three Cliffs Bay, Caswell Bay our favourite with excellent beach cafe and Langland Bay which has a very good beachfront restaurant.

About Sally Purnell

We are a professional couple who now have a little more leisure time away from the office. Gower View Penthouse is our family holiday home, we live in Birmingham and so could not be further from the sea. We visit regularly to enjoy the peace and quiet as well as all the area has to offer. We have 2 married daughters and 4 grandchildren under the age of 6. Both young families love coming here.

Why Sally Purnell chose Llanelli

We decided to buy Gower View Penthouse in May 2007. We viewed it on a wet and windy day but still fell in love with the penthouse and spectacular view! When staying there we enjoy golf, walking, cycling, tennis, the beautiful beaches and the great selection of restaurants nearby. Whatever the weather there is so much to do in the area and so many places to visit.

What makes this apartment unique

The view is breathtaking and constantly changing.

The sunsets are spectacular.

In just a few steps you can be on the beach or heading along the traffic free coastal path on foot or by bike.

The Gower Peninsula, Pembrokeshire and the Brecon Beacons National Park are all within easy reach.

There is just so much to do whatever the weather and so many different places to eat.

The Penthouse is a 10-15 minute drive from the M4, it takes us just over 2 hours 30minutes to drive from Birmingham via the Heads of the Valley road - a beautiful route. There is a new out of town shopping centre Trostre Parc just a 8 minute drive away which provides all the shopping you could want. Tesco, Asda and Morrisons are all within in 10 minute drive and some guests arrange a home delivery before their stay.

What more can you wish for? We enjoyed our vacation in the penthouse. What a magnificent view of the sea from the sitting room and (one of the) bedrooms! But the apartment has much more to offer: it is spacious and modern, furnished with loving care, the kitchen is very well-equipped, Wi-Fi and home entertainment products are available and it is – which is very important for us - very clean. The'price-performance' ratio is good.

We were on golf holiday, the beautiful Pennard and Ashburnham courses are nearby and the Neath and Pontardawe courses are also within reach (~35 min.). Machynys Peninsula is next-door and offers, in addition to the course, practise facilities, a health club and spa.

The porcelain tiles throughout the penthouse produce a wonderful cooling effect, however the very efficient underfloor heating means they are beautifully cosy to walk on in winter. There are electric radiators in all the bedrooms and wall heaters, electric towel rails and extractor fans in both bathrooms.

The duplex apartment is accessed from the third floor of the building, there is no lift. There are full-length balconies on both sides of the kitchen/living area with balcony furniture and a smaller balcony for the master bedroom. There is a high-chair and travel cot available for the use of guests. There is 1 designated parking space and further visitor parking. Bike storage sheds are available on site. There is a communal lawned area outside the apartment. The beach is just 40m from the apartment, it shelves very gently so paddling is safe. The tide goes out a long way so the beach provides a large and safe play area for children. House martins return to this area in spring and can be seen swooping for food outside the apartment and in Sandy Water Park - their activities are enchanting.

Lovely comfortable apartment with fabulous views

This apartment is extremely well equipped,spotlessly clean and comfortable to stay in. There are three balconies and the views are amazing. It is well placed for the Gower beaches and Brecon Beacons with plenty of good shopping areas too. Highly recommended.

Superb apartment with an amazing view

We booked this apartment for 18 nights due to working in the area, started with 2 ending as 3. What a place and great location with amazing views especially to wake up too.

The penthouse apartment is modern and well presented. Very comfortable, well equipped with everything you'd need for a self catering holiday including towels! Spacious, over 2 levels and 3 guys had more than enough space to have our own space. Can't comment too much about the area as we were working but the building is quiet and inviting.

Sally the owner is brilliant great communication from start to finish and more than happy to answer any question.

Would recommend Gower view penthouse, and hope to get down for a summer job.

Could have moved in!

What a lovely penthouse. We were blessed with lovely weather all week but I'm sure it would have been equally enjoyable if it wasn't so good. It was an ideal location for my husband and I to catch up with our 3 children that have now all flown the next. Yes there are stairs, but this was only an inconvenience when unloading on arrival as we had to empty the car quickly to pick up from the train station, after that it was fine and I don't do stairs!! We sat for hours just watching the ever changing view. Looking forward to revisiting in the future.

Luxury accommodation with amazing views!

What a lovely apartment! The views hit you as soon as you enter the living room or master bedroom. We could never tire of watching the tides here. Well worth climbing the stairs for!

The whole apartment felt clean & well kept. There was everything you could need for a comfortable holiday. Sally went out of her way to make sure we had all we needed for our children. Great communication with her during the booking process.

Our 3 year old loved scooting along the cycle path or watching the dog walkers. We enjoyed watching kite surfers, boats & spotting the lighthouses.

We'd definitely recommend this apartment for a relaxing break!

Car: recommended

The penthouse is right on the beachfront in Llanelli, within the Millennium Coastal Park. The views are fantastic, you could not be better placed for a choice of places to visit and activities for all ages.

It is a 5 min walk to Sandy Water Park and a 15 min walk to the centre of Llanelli, where there are shops, restaurants, cinema and theatre.

Machynys Golf Clubs is a 5 min drive, it is 8 mins to Trostre Park shopping centre , 10 mins to National Wildlife and Wetlands Centre, 20 mins east to the city of Swansea, 30 mins west to the county town Carmarthen. Nearby are Pembrey Park, Kidwelly Castle, National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney, Oakland Theme Park, Folly Farm and the beautiful beaches of the Gower.

The penthouse is a 15 minutes drive from the M4 junction 47 or 48.

1 hour drive from Cardiff International Airport. Car hire is recommended. 10 minutes walk from Llanelli Station. There is a regular train and national bus service to and from Llanelli
