About this property

Very Private Seaside Getaway - Excellent WiFi for Remote Work - Lots to Explore

Strong Wifi. Seclusion. Fabulous oceanfront setting. Nothing beats a seaside cottage for a change of scene in summer. Convenient to all Acadia has to offer, or just enjoy the sparkling view out your window. Explore the shore on a leisurely stroll. Kayak in the peaceful cove, or paddle further out to the open ocean on an adventurous whim. There’s plenty to do inside, as well, with games, puzzles, books, and an oversized screened-in porch that maximizes that spectacular view in comfort. Idyllic.

We make cleanliness a priority. We’re committed to providing you a safe and enjoyable vacation experience. Cove’s Edge Seaside Cottage is cleaned and sanitized at every turnover to new industry standards so you can enjoy both comfort and peace of mind. Welcome!

Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage offers you an opportunity to sample all that Acadia National Park has to offer. You can enjoy lobster, chowder, dining out, boating, sailing, canoeing, kayaking, ocean and freshwater swimming, hiking, walking, bicycling, blueberry picking, birding, garden touring, shopping in quaint boutiques, and more -- or just get some quiet relaxation and reading time in. You are surrounded by gorgeous ocean views that you can enjoy from nearly every room in the house. And you are steps away from your own private stretch of beach, where you can put in a canoe or kayak, beach comb for shells and sea treasures, or simply enjoy the view out to Maine's famous island-dotted shore, with the Nature Conservancy's Placentia Island in the distance, and Swan's Island just beyond. Every bedroom has an en suite bath. You are less than five minutes' drive from the Acadia National Park trails called Wonderland and Ship's Harbor, which bring you out to gorgeous rocky bluffs along the open ocean and Maine's famous rocky coast. A minute more and you're at Bass Harbor Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse on the U.S. East Coast. In five minutes you’re in Southwest Harbor with ample opportunities for shopping, dining, and boating; in two more minutes you’re hiking Acadia Mountain or swimming in Echo Lake; and in ten minutes you're in Bar Harbor, with its quaint shops, restaurants, whale watching, naturalist boating, sailing, deep-sea diving, Park tours, and many other opportunities.

Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage is a 3-bedroom, 3-bath house right on the water with your own access to a private stretch of pebbled shore, with expansive views of the cove, islands, and open ocean beyond. It has a game room and two relaxing patios in addition to living, kitchen, and dining rooms with high-end, custom finishes in this architect-designed home. It is well suited to accommodate multiple generations or a small group of friends, where you can both enjoy common rooms as well as preserve your privacy.

Few locations in the United States can compare to the beauty and diversity of Mt. Desert Island (MDI) and Acadia National Park. Acadia National Park and its famous gateway towns are treasured the world over as some of the most beautiful spots “where the mountains meet the sea.” Ocean, lakes, mountains, miles and miles of hiking trails, dedicated bicycling and walking trails, gorgeous countryside, and the towns of Tremont, Southwest Harbor, Northeast Harbor, and Bar Harbor provide unlimited opportunities for relaxation and recreation. Come for some much-needed rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation at Cove's Edge Seaside Cottage!

Great secluded Maine experience
Our family loved staying in Duck Cove! The house provided ample space for our family to spread out and have their own space. The house was well stocked for travelers - Joy and Peter thought of most things a traveler would need. The house was clean, neat and well cared for. It was quiet and secluded which is nice after a spending time in the busy streets of Bar Harbor. We enjoyed the yard, beach/cove area, and grill (we grilled our “catch” after a day of fishing and other meals). It is close to Bass Harbor and Southwest Harbor which provides all the necessities (groceries, restaurants (Beal’s vs Thurston’s), and shopping. Thank you Joy and Peter for making sure our every need was addressed. Great stay!!! We would definitely stay here again!!

About the host

Hosted by Joy & Peter Cutrone

Host profile image
We are experienced travel hosts, being former innkeepers and now rental cottage owners. We both grew up in the Northeast United States, and have traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe as well as Down Under. We enjoy quality accommodations when we travel, appreciate the extra thoughtfulness that can make a stay more pleasant, and strive to give that experience to our guests.

Why they chose this property

Cove's Edge joins our other two cottages across the cove at Acadia to form Acadia Seaside Cottages. Cove's Edge is our parents' former retirement home, architect-designed in the Shingle style, with granite countertops, built-in cabinetry, and many custom, high-end finishes that make it special.

Acadia Seaside Cottages are family-run vacation cottages. We have capitalized on our years of experience as guest cottage owners in New England and our shared love of travel to bring you a warm cottage experience in one of America's most beautiful National Parks. An oceanfront setting, the comforts and conveniences of home, and access to a greater range of activities than you can possibly pursue in a weeks’ time combine to give you a vacation experience that you’ll treasure for years to come.

What makes this property unique

Acadia Seaside Cottages are convenient to all that Acadia has to offer, without being directly in the hustle and bustle of a summer seaside resort. You are directly on the water, and can enjoy ocean views under a spectacular sunset, explore the beach, or explore the Park at your leisure.
