We really had a great time at this wonderful place! Everything was perfect styled, clean and well organized! We loved to be at Podere Ampella. The kids had fun at the pool and we made many trips. The area is beautiful, wine and food delicious. We hope to come back soon.

just a short note to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in Tuscany at your villa. We were very impressed with the quality of the accommodation and appreciated the warm welcome you gave us. We hope to return to Tuscany again in the future and will certainly like to stay in one of your villas on our next visit.

Could live here forever

My husband and I stayed in Villa Montisi at Podere Ampella for 10 days May 2018. We completely fell in love with the house. It was private, quiet and comfortable with no convenience missing. The fridge was running, the gas stove was ready for cooking, and the pool was just opened and inviting for us when we wanted it. The bed was comfortable and the pillows and linens were crisp and clean. All was wonderful and we felt right at home. There are so many things to do in the area. The poppies were blooming everywhere! The little flock of sheep across the road always made for great pictures with the long row of cypresses along the driveway in the backdrop. The best views were always in the late afternoon when the sun started to make longer shadows over the land. We had dinner out one night in Cortona at Osteria del Teatro-highly recommend, we bathed in the Rapalano Terme late one Friday night under the half moon was all so romantic. We went to various wineries and toured and tasted what this area has to offer. If you like quiet star filled nights, spectacular sunsets, relaxing swimming pools, and the freedom that having your own home away from home gives your vacation spot....then this is it. Cannot say enough about the service from Paola, who we didn't need to contact, and who checked in twice during our stay to see all was well to the privacy and natural beauty all around! We would come again in a heartbeat. 5 out of 5!

Not what was promised !

  • 1 of 5

The appartment we rented was not the one we got (surprise on arrival). The view, the patio and the cleanliness (had to kill humidity bugs every day) did not meet our expectations set by pictures we had seen on the website and there were no washer and dryer in the apartment. Upon arrival, we were informed that air conditioning and pool towels were "additional costs" which was contrary to what was advertized. The pool area was crowded, unsupervised and noisy.

We were in Tuscany before and while location was great, we will not return to Ampella Podere, and dont recommend it.

Owner's Response: We are so dissappointed to receive a poor review as this is our first ever unhappy customer in 8 years. In all that time have only had positive reviews and very happy holidaymakers. To answer the queries raised the washing machine is now available in the house. The swimming pool is shared and not private and usually very quiet. This house has a large private garden with a patio perfect for alfresco dining with an outdoor barbeque. We try very hard to make sure all our guests needs are catered for and would ask you to read the 7 positive genuine reviews recieved since 2009. Paola

Great views

We stayed for one week in casa Beppe and our friends at casa Marta. Both of houses have a fantastic views. We were lucky with weather for first days, children and we too, really enjoyed the pool. Houses are simply but nicely furnished. Bring your soap and you have to buy toilet paper, salt, sugar,pepper..

Te owner Paola is really nice and friendly, all booking process from beginning was very easy, I get always very quick reply for all my questions. Paola even call me at arrival day in the morning to confirm our arrival time. We haven't visited this time Siena or Florence. This time we visited Montalcino (15 min drive), Montepulciano, Castiglione del Lago, Pienza and design outlet the Mall (1h15 m. drive), you will find there Gucci, Prada, Tod's and many others brands. A shop in San Giovanni is small, in Sinalunga is much better choose.

Thank you and best regards from Finland, Helsinki; Olga, Janne, Liisi, Peppiina, Isra, Mervi, Jurkki, Simo, Ismo

Under the Tuscan Sun for a

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Casa Marta for one week in June 2010. We had a bit of difficulty finding it in the dark because there is no sign, but the directions provided were really quite accurate. You really need a car for this private area. We had a wonderful visit, the beds are very comfortable. Paola was delightful and responsive to our requests for additional linens. The kitchen is well equiped and the furnishings are very adequate for the price.

Podere Ampella is perfect for a relaxing vacation. We were pleased that this was the perfect base location for day trips to many locations including Montilcono, Chuisi, Montepalciano, Sienna, Montissi... Enjoying breakfast and dinner on the patio with the lovely views of Tuscany was delightful. For those from the USA it is important to note that no soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc are provided so bring your own or buy locally. We were very happy and will hopefully return again.

The pictures and descriptions are accurate and you can find more information at their own web page
