About this property

Unique house on the river in a quiet Village Close To Padova And Venice

The house is part of an old mill set on the Biancolino Canal near Padua and just a 40-minute train or car ride to Venice. It has been rebuilt to make your stay lovely and restful in the middle of an old, quiet village. The large terrace on the roof will make your holiday enjoyable as you admire the surrounding landscape or have a romantic dinner in front of the slow flowing river.
The house is made up of a spacious living room complete with a full kitchen and a bathroom on the ground floor. On the first floor there are three double rooms and a bathroom. From the first floor the staircase leads to a charming kitchen in the tower which opens onto a huge terrace on the roof. You could relax close to the fireplace in the winter season or on the terrace in the summertime to admire the river and the sun setting on the Euganean Hills. The two kitchens are fully equipped, we also provide guests with wi-fi access, air conditioning, television, a jacuzzi, and a washer and dryer.
I live close to the house so I will be helpful in case of need, but most of all to suggest unique trips in the Veneto region, take you walking in the surroundings to explore the countryside, the Euganean Hills, the vineyards and so on ... If you prefer a break from cooking, just across the bridge is a charming restaurant where guests can enjoy a glass of wine, cold cuts and cheese or choose a pasta dish.
I'm flexible for your check-in, so I can adjust it for your convenience.
You can have a rest inside the house, take part in a Yoga lesson, walk and run along the river, cycle through the paths that lead either to the sea or to the Euganean Hills.
Are you tired after travelling or exploring sights? We also provide different kind of massages (shiatsu, ayurveda, relaxing) in cooperation with a Spa.
You can also take the train or your car to explore Venice in 40 minutes, Padova in 15 minutes or other cities like Verona, Ferrara and Bologna.
Located in a small medieval village where time seems to have stopped, you will enjoy the flavours and sounds close to the most important sights in the Veneto region. Just a few minutes far by car are shops, restaurants, a wellness centre and more in the Spa town of Abano Terme.

Wonderful large home in peaceful location near Venice.
My wife and I stayed here 5 nights and had a wonderful time. Clean & modern yet retains it's country charm. The rooftop terrace is amazing. The bedrooms were large and nicely decorated. Great to have AC and washer/dryer. Fell in love with the Nespresso pod machine. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely stay here if in the area again. Getting to Venice was so easy from here with free parking at the train station in Terme Euganee Montegrotto and a quick 45 minute direct train that only cost 5.60 Euros each way. Padova is just a quick drive away. The supermarket is very convenient and less than 1 km away. Anima Chic Cafe is right next to that and was a very nice place. The lovely woman there helped us find a great restaurant in the area called Ristorante La Torre - da Jimmy. We ate there twice, the food, wine and atmosphere were all very nice. We had great communication from the property manager Nicola. The 5 nights here were the highlight of our 17 day trip to Germany & Italy. So glad we found this home. Thank you Nicola

Perfect Veneto Home
We had a wonderful stay at Nicola’s house in the Veneto. There was so much space for our family of six to enjoy and the location was perfect for exploring the region. Nicola was an excellent host who was very responsive to any questions we had. We hope to be able to come back again and stay longer.

Beautiful charming property
We so enjoyed our stay at this home. In a quiet lovely location along a canal outside Padua. Bedrooms well appointed and the roof terrace was especially delightful.

When we began thinking of creating a Guesthouse, our minds flew away through our journeys, the people we met, those who made us at home. Hence, the idea to offer a place to everybody who, whether for pleasure or business, passes throughout this area. A place to stay where they can feel at home in a small, old village where time seems to have stopped and the flavors of the past prevail over the frenetic atmosphere of today.

If we’re able to transmit to everybody who passes here some of our emotion, giving them a fresh, rich breakfast in the morning, relaxing walks around an amazing, uncontaminated environment and pleasant silences at sunset, we’re sure your stay will remain a lovely memory to keep with you.
Il Gatto Nero doesn’t seek to be a place where you can merely stay, but an open flat for meeting people, celebrating events, connecting to several celebrations of local traditions around us. Everybody who needs a space to meet people is welcome in our Guesthouse.

What makes this property unique

Wake up in the morning with a sound of river. Open your windows over the water.
