About Penny Holley

This house has been our family home for fifteen years and is much loved. It is now far too big for just me and my husband Tim and so we live in the cottage next door. We are on hand to help guests with whatever they need and meet them with keys.

We thoroughly enjoy the pleasure guests find in the house and its surroundings and are delighted it has a new lease of life. In the summer of 2016 we will be offering it as an exclusive venue for small celebrations.

Penny Holley purchased this house in 2000

Why Penny Holley chose South Oxfordshire

We have thoroughly renovated it, adding verandas and balconies and cladding the exterior in western red cedar. It is a brick built house and very warm and welcoming.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Such perfection

  • 5 of 5

Well, this is going to be a long one.

We were a group of family's and couple all staying together for a chilled weekend together. We have vowed that we should do this once a year. It is perfect!!

It has everything that you can think of that you need or want. Even down to welly boots and coats if the weather is bit unexpected!!

All the furniture, decor and bedding is of such high quality and I can't fault a single thing.

All the info in the handbook is written to as an idiots guide (good for us) the children loved being in the hot tub and cinema room with their blankets and popcorn.

Had a gorgeous meal cooked by Camilla and Naomi, they cooked, waited on and they cleared up!!! Worth every single penny, not to get babysitters and taxis to a posh restaurant. It was the perfect night and so well organised, even when we threw 3 more people into the mix!!

This was our 2nd time here and we brought 5 new people with us who have all said that it won't be the only time they go.

Thankyou much to the owners. So organised and thoughtful..... even down to putting our food in the fridge when our shopping arrived.

Such a gorgeous place.

Our 2nd visit now to the copse and it's as lovely as always. Lovely to see it and the local area in a different season. Tim, Penny & Kelly are a delight from booking through to check out. Thank you all again for a fantastic stay & a special thanks to Camilla for providing such a great meal for us all on the Saturday evening.

What an amazing house - perfect in every way.

  • 5 of 5

We rented The Copse for our close family to be together for our son's wedding. We certainly made the right choice. The property is stunning, beautifully furnished and ticks all the boxes. Having such a lovely place to stay and relax certainly contributed to a very happy time. Thank you. Bill and Janet Woodhart

Great property and very helpful owners

  • 5 of 5

We rented out the Copse for 2 days to host our friends and family for our 80 person civil ceremony in August and can not say enough wonderful things. The property itself is absolutely stunning and the decking/stretch tent that they have installed is an excellent area to host a reception. Penny and Kelly were so helpful and accommodating in letting us make our day unique and providing us with recommendations of suppliers in the area when we needed them. They also let us visit the property several times throughout the planning process which was incredibly helpful.

Highly recommend if you are looking for an intimate affair where you can host your family and friends in a stunning setting.

Stunning sanctuary - a gem

  • 5 of 5

From start to finish this was an exceptional find. Penny and TIm made our family weekend post wedding "recovery" the most blissful experience. Nothing was too much trouble and we are able to relax and unwind in a house that was exceptionally comfortable while at the same time positively oozing top end quality - a rare mixture. A beautiful family house in a amazing location. Thank you Penny, Tim and Kelly too.
