About Megan Truzinski and DeeDee Truzinski

We are the Truzinski family and have made Paradise Valley Montana our home. We spent nearly 15 years traveling to Yellowstone National Park to photograph and hike the back country. In 2007 we bought a vacation home in Paradise Valley on the Yellowstone River. We move to Montana permanently in 2011. We have previously lived in CA, OR, WA, and CO, and while those states have much to offer, MT captured our hearts and much so, we call this 'home'. In 2012 we decided to start a modest vacation rental business to share this magical valley with others.

My wife, Dee Dee, and I have raised two daughters, Megan and Erica. Both are attending Montana State University, Bozeman, a short hour from Paradise Valley. Our spare time is spent hiking and photographing throughout Montana with a special focus on Yellowstone wildlife photography. We know Yellowstone wildlife patterns and behaviors better than 99% of the visitors and would be willing to share our knowledge and expertise with you.

Why Megan Truzinski and DeeDee Truzinski chose Livingston

This property is across the road from our larger vacation rental (The River's Edge Rental also on VRBO). Since these bungalow is not 'officially' on the river (you have to walk 100 yards on a private trail to access the river) and they accommodate far fewer guests, we have priced these in the value range. Hotel rooms will cost you near this price and they are not nearly as well equipped, nor do they have the great location.

What makes this bungalow unique

Yellowstone River access, view of Gallatins and Absarokas (views of Emigrant Peak). Private yet accessible.

Awesome place to stay

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at the bungalows during my visit to Yellowstone. Super nice place, comfy bed, and everything you need to cook is in the bungalow.

DeeDee was an amazing host, very responsive, and super helpful. On top of the delicious muffins that were on the counter at arrival, she also brought me some homemade cookies that were waiting for me after a long day of hiking in Yellowstone. Which was very delicious combined with the milk DeeDee provided me with as I got there.

The WiFi in the bungalows work, but don’t expect streaming HD video on Netflix or any form of downloading of larger files, but then again, it works for messaging and surfing the internet, which is more than enough!

The washer and drier works like a charm, and there’s detergent and drier sheets available. On top of that there’s soap and shampoo readily available.

The porch at the bungalows is fantastic, amazing views, with lots of gophers, rabbits, and birds to look at.

It takes about 40 minutes to drive to Gardiner, which is where the northern entrance is as well. Didn’t bother me at all, the drive is scenic and straight forward. Just hit the highway and go left, and then straight to Gardiner.

The closest food place is at Chico Hot Springs, which is on the pricier side from what I’ve read, then there’s also a BBQ place at Emigrant (Follow Yer’ Nose) which I highly recommend to eat at when it’s on the warmer side, got some great views of Paradise Valley there. *brisket is amazing*

I didn’t use the meal service that is available through DeeDee, but in lieu of her amazing home baked goods, I have no doubt you’re in for a treat should you choose to use that service.

The rental of binoculars and bear spray was also super helpful, and reasonably priced, especially considering how much I used the binoculars on my hikes. Thankfully I didn’t have to use the bear spray. - but seriously, don’t go hiking without binoculars (or bear spray), there’s a lot of wildlife in Yellowstone, and being able to get a closer look is priceless.

Only problem I had at the bungalow was a pan where the handle was too heavy, causing it to tilt on the stove. On the plus side, the pan gets warm faster, thanks to an extra 45 degrees from the get go.

Thanks DeeDee for an amazing stay. If i ever come back, I know where I’m staying!

Great experience!

  • 5 of 5

We loved everything about this bungalow! This place was absolutely perfect for a Yellowstone visit. We were in the middle of a National Park trip from Glacier to Moab. It was ideal to have a full sized washer and dryer, fridge and area to move around in. I loved being able to prepare some meals and they have everything and more available in the kitchen :) For the value it blows away sitting in one room of a hotel! Megan and Dee Dee provided excellent information in advance of our stay including things to do in the area and the ever important grocery store info. They were also quick to respond to a couple of last minute questions we had. A++ If you are considering a trip to Yellowstone definitely take a second look at this place! Thanks for your hospitality guys

We thoroughly enjoyed our 15th anniversary stay in Bungalow B. The communication with the owners was very pleasant & they were quick to respond. The bed & pillows were very comfertable at the end of a long day inside Yellowstone! Before you go shopping check the supplies they have offered. The owners have really tried to think of everything you may need during your stay & since we flew in, it really helped cut down on the amount of packing! Thank you so much for the attention to detail! ***If driving at night, watch for wildlife in the roadway!! (Personal experience)
