About the property

Cedar Sided Cabin with Huge Prow and Deck. Private and Convenient

Our three bedroom, two bath home is located in Cannon Springs North. After going through the drive gate off of wells road, you will go down the STEEP slope to your unique and far from the road valley getaway. We loved the location and the view from the deck so much that we built an outdoor shower that has hot and cold water. (What a pleasure bathing outside with nature).

From the upper deck and lower patio areas you can relax and look over the lake. Deer, hawks, many birds and our evening bats are a joy to watch. A short stroll down the paved walkway takes you to your private dock. Keep your boat here or just go down and enjoy the great fishing right out your backyard.

The home has three bedrooms, two bedrooms and one bath on the main level of the home. The green room has a king size bed and the peach room has a queen size bed.

From the Living Room you go upstairs and there is a full size futon in the loft. Off the loft is the master bedroom which also has a king size bed and a small private bathroom with a stall shower, toilet and sink.

If you are ready to cook the kitchen has all the plates, utensils, pots, pans and cookie sheets that you'll need. The kitchen is small and compact. Just enough room for the head cook to whip up a meal in no time so that you can get back to enjoying the beautiful outdoor areas.

Lucky Lake House has free internet so bring your laptop and sit out on the deck or on the patio and enjoy surfing your favorite sites. Cell phone service could be limited because the home is down in the valley closer to the lake. But that might be a GREAT thing!

The home has Direct TV and there is even a music server on the wall going upstairs. Just tap the screen and drill down to your favorite song.

At the end of a fun filled day, grab a towel and head down to that outdoor shower.

About Mark or Pamela Schneider

Having a Birthday Party at Lucky Lake House!

We live about 85 miles away and have always loved the water, golfing and taking hikes or drives across the country side. No better place to do this then the Barkley Lake Area.

Mark or Pamela Schneider purchased this house in 2002

Why Mark or Pamela Schneider chose Kentucky

We bought our Lucky Lake House in 2002. Our goal was to find a place that was on the lake, had a dock, had privacy and wasn't so large that it would take a day to clean. When we saw the for sale sign at the top of the hill but could not see the house a good feeling came into our heart. The realtor said some where afraid of the steep drive and we thought 'there are tons of steep drives around here' but none that has such a great place at the bottom of the hill.

What makes this house unique

Away From Any Roads, Down in Valley With Other homes way up above us. outdoor shower, great fishing from dock, Huge Outdoor Deck and Under Deck Areas, swinging chairs.

Quiet and isolated with the amenities of home. We enjoyed family time and exploring the lake. Thank you for sharing your home away from home with us!

Peaceful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying at the Lucky Lake House. I traveled with my husband and dog. This house offers such peaceful surroundings and we saw a lot of deer walk through the back yard. We brought our boat and it was so nice and convenient to park at the dock and walk up to the house. They have stocked the kitchen with just about anything you may need. We stayed in and grilled dinner most nights and never wanted for anything. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. They checked on us and made us feel very welcome in their home. Thank you for sharing your Lake home with us.--The Floyd's

Private lake house with dock

  • 4 of 5

Loved the private, peaceful setting of this lake house in quiet neighborhood of nice homes. Very close to a public boat launch. My husband even caught some fish despite it being early August. The dock is a great place to view the sunset and we even saw the bats flying around one night. Definitely the steepest driveway I've ever seen, but ok in the Summer. Found excellent food at both the Willow Pond and the Fishin Hole. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Owner's Response: We appreciate you giving some feedback on those local restaurants. When we get to go down for our own enjoyment we usually do not eat out so it is great to hear that both of those places had excellent food. It is also nice that you caught fish in August. Your husband must be a good fisherman. If there was a way to make the drive less steep we would do it but I guess that is why you see so many homes closer to the road and further from the lake in areas where there are many hills and valley's. Our kids always wanted to sled down it in winter and we said No Way! Thank you for visiting and leaving everything in great shape!

Wonderful, quiet getaway in the woods on the lake!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four booked a last minute trip to Lake Barkely and found a great cabin in the woods and on the water. We loved it! It was in a beautiful area- private and quiet with plenty of room. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beds comfy. Thanks so much for a great place to stay.

Great get away weekend

  • 3 of 5

House was lovely - a lot of deck/living area. Kitchen is small, the bathrooms are very small. The loft bedroom is very nice but the stairs are steep and shorter than normal stairs. Beds are comfortable. Nice area to walk to dock. Driveway is also steep.

Owner's Response: I would encourage other readers to look at all of our other reviews. We have worked very hard to provide th exact information about Lucky Lake House. The second sentence in our description states in all caps that we have a STEEP drive. The paragraph about the kitchen all states that it is small and compact. we even label the picture with "our compact kitchen". We also felt it was important to share a picture of the drive. It is unfortunate that you did not throughly review the description and photos on our website to ensure that this would be a place that would satisfy you. Unlike many other vacation renatals we go up and above leaving guests with extras such as coffee filters, laundry detergent, plenty of trash bags, toilet paper and more. I hope you take the time to reviiew all the information vacation home rental providers give potential guests on your next trip so that another wonderful place doesn't get a three star rating based on clearly disclosed reasons. We were pleased to provide you with a place that was exactly as described.

When one thinks of Lake Barkley the cities of Eddyville, Cadiz and Grand Rivers come to mind. Eddyville has Eddy Bay where the local marina sponsers the huge fireworks show each year, Thunder over Eddy Bay. There is a nice Water Park in Eddyville and if you are a Golfer, Mineral Mounds State Park is right outside of town. Several local restaurants offer great food and if you are a history buff you can visit the Museum at the Kentucky State Penitentiary. Need a boat, Prizer Point Marina can rent you one for a day or for a week. If you have a boat Lucky Lake House is about 1 mile away from the ever popular Dryden Creek Boat Ramp.

A short drive away is Cadiz, Kentucky. Lots of Antique shops to visit in their quaint downtown. Go the other way towards Grand Rivers and you can visit the famous Patti's Restaurant and catch a live bluegrass show.

If you are into hiking, riding ATV's, shooting guns or just taking a scenic drive you can continue on to Land-Between-The-Lakes. There are many other golf courses in the area and a variety of restaurant choices as well.
