About Sharon Kipp

My parents bought the tiny house and transformed it to the place of their dreams. We boated, fished and loved every minute of each others company. I want all my guests to have times like that with the ones they love.

Sharon Kipp purchased this house in 1991

Why Sharon Kipp chose Nashua

My Dad trusted me to keep his project alive and make sure our family continues the legacy of hard work and great fun.

What makes this house unique

The hot tub is small enough that it is easily filled with clean water after each visit. This limits excess chemical usage in trying to 'keep' the same water.

Nice relaxing weekend

  • 5 of 5

Nice clean lake house filled with everything you need. Loved the view of the lake and the beautiful sunsets right outside the back door. The fire pit and hot tub were nice additions to assist in making our weekend peaceful and relaxing. Owners were very friendly and eager to be sure we had everything we needed to make our weekend memorable.

The property was very nice, we enjoyed our stay. Was disappointed the dock was no longer there as this was a fishing trip for our grandsons. The picture of the dock was the reason we rented this house. Would have been nice to know there no longer was a dock.

Perfect get-away retreat!

  • 5 of 5

This house and lake in small-town Iowa may be one of the best kept secrets around! Nice cozy house just steps from the water with all the amenities needed and more. Definitely well worth every penny!

Some nice amenities but overpriced

  • 3 of 5

My husband and I recently spent two nights at this property. Some amenities were nice -- we enjoyed the kayaks, the owner was prompt and professional, the house was quiet and clean, the kitchen was equipped with anything you could wish for, and it was very relaxing to sit in the screened back porch in the evenings. But there were elements that were uncomfortable and did not meet our expectations. First, we could not control the thermostat and there was no AC vent in the bedroom, so we did not sleep well. It was warm and damp in the bedroom, even with the door open to the living room. Second, the dock was not in yet (even though it was early June) so it was hard to fish and kayak. Thankfully we met the nice neighbor who let us use her dock. Third, the hot tub is very close to the neighbors and we did not use it because it lacked privacy. Fourth, this was too expensive. The nightly fee was already on the high end, but they also add nonrefundable cleaning and service fees equivalent to >$120. We just did not think it was worth the price for the area and amenities.

Owner's Response: I sure wish I would have been contacted, there are always things to be improved in a home and I always try to respond to what my renters tell me. My number is posted in the house. You caught us in a flooding year as far as the dock and it will get back out. Yes, there is a cleaning fee but the service fees are all VRBO, I don't receive that money and I have no control over it.

Relaxing and fun

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The kids had a great time fishing, kayaking and playing in the hot tub. The huge sofa gave all 5 of us a comfortable place to sit and watch TV. The kitchen had everything I needed. The area was peaceful and beautiful. Thank you

The best waterfront home we have ever found!

  • 5 of 5

This lake home has it all! We had a most relaxing weekend enjoying the beautiful view of the lake from the screened porch and the patio. Geese flew overhead regularly, and one morning geese swam by with their goslings. It was amazing to watch lightning across the lake one evening and the next evening to look up from the hot tub to see the Big Dipper in the sky. There is a wooded walking trail nearby, and a beautiful riverside trail in neighboring Charles City. We also found shopping and some great restaurants in Charles City. The Nashua Welcome Center offers sales of a great variety of crafts from local folks. It was also fun to visit The Little Brown Church in the Vale just outside Nashua. But mostly, it was so relaxing to stay in a comfortable, well-equipped house with a beautiful lake view. I have looked for short-stay waterfront homes for several years, and my husband and I have stayed at a few. This one is the best we have ever found!
