About this property

Casa Xyla-sunset Small Villa At Xyla Beach. Family, Relax & Privacy

This 75 square meters small villa is built in two pieces united by a wooden-and-straw pergola, to achieve both privacy and several functional spaces to enjoy the view, to be protected from the wind and to create natural ventilation during the Greek summer. It is a place of relax, privacy and fun. It has been created with love and lots of personal work and it gives you back unique moments of sea and sun pleasure. Furthermore, if you are a sunset lover this is your own private spot! Its more than 180° breathtaking view to the sunset and nearby islands drag you to the patio and the verandas to absorb as much of the Aegean and the Cyclades as possible. Following, but not imitating, the island’s traditional architectural style, the villa is made of local stone on the outside with a spacious patio that connects the two main bedrooms and large verandas overlooking at the island of Makronissos and the infinite blue. The cosy pergola-covered patio has a stone built sitting/dinning area with a big table of white Naxos marble that accommodates up to 8 people. In the main house, next to the patio, are a fully equipped kitchen and a cosy living room with built-in fireplace and great view to the sea and the sunset. The two bedrooms are separated for more privacy and each one has its own bathroom; they have queen and standard size double beds and availability for more single beds (one for tweens and one for adults). For better use of natural light and ventilation every room has two -or more- windows with view both to the sea and the wild rocky hills, plus ceiling fans. Each bedroom has its own, fully equipped, bathroom with shower. Easy internet acess with secure Wi-Fi that covers the whole property.

Kea, also known as Tzia is one of the Cycladic islands closest to Athens . There are three to four ferry boats daily arriving to and departing from the island. Tzia, is not a touristic destination, though recently has become quite known. Our villa has easy access, just 8 minutes drive from the Port and just 3 minutes drive from the most, in many opinions, beautiful beach of the island, Xyla beach! It can be both an ideal choice for couples wishing to enjoy relaxing and romantic holidays in an elegant Aegean island as well as for families of up to 5, wishing to explore the numerous beaches, sites and cultural spaces of Kea.

Kea Island - "Pinnacle Holiday Property Experience"
Owner met us at the ferry port upon our arrival on Kea Island. Then he"showed us the way" us toward their 180 degree ocean view, 2 bed 2 bath house on top of the hill within a 20 min walk of Xyla beach. Hosts Maria & Leonidas are great! Their villa provided us with a great place to "call home during our holiday". Their place was clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, with comfortable beds & provided a peaceful serene site for gazing at the sea while relaxing with all the required amenities. Highly recommend a visit to "CASA XYLA" for any cruise ship travelers disemabrking at Piraeus. Just drive 1.5 hours south to Lavrio port & then board a 1 hour ferry ride to Kea Island. We look forward to our next future visit to this wonderful little house on top of the hill overlooking the ocean! Thank you Maria & Leonardis! Sincerely, James & Tamie

Wonderful house, nice owners, great atmosphere!
The house of Maria & Leonidas is simply wonderful, just like its owners. Their house is: tasteful, warm, welcoming and friendly, equipped with everything you need, stylish with understatement, and full of pictures, music, books and great views of the surroundings. There are many beautiful homes. This one is beautiful and has soul. The sunsets there are just wow, better than any movie. Spectacular colors in a wide panorama and later the moon comes by and reflects in the night sea and many stars can be seen. What a great gig in the sky... ;-) Xyla Beach, about 1km down the road, is also beautiful. Not crowded, crystal clear water. A car is necessary and 4WD is definitely recommended, both for getting to the house and around the island. A 4x4 Panda is definitely sufficient, like the "little mountain goat" we rented in the port of Korrisia. Our conclusion: recommendable. Definitely! Jámas. Thank you for sharing your home (and your cosmos) with us!!

Perfect in every way
We had a brilliant time at this lovely home. The house is very well designed, with two separate bedrooms and a bathroom each. The living room and kitchen had everything we needed, and the outside sitting area has been thoughtfully set back a bit so that you can enjoy life outside even when it's a bit windy. But the key feature is the view which is just magnificent. We could spend days watching the sea, the boats, ships and ferries. We certainly made good use of the binoculars! And the sunsets are cinematic, every single day. We loved Kea and it's not-so-touristic vibe. Clearly, there were plenty of them (us included!) but it makes a difference that many houses on the island belong to Athenians who mostly come over the weekend. It meant the beaches were really quiet and everything is just easy. We found Xyla beach one of the best on the island. Great for snorkelling and swimming alike. You can walk into Korissia via the back road which will take about 45 mins and offers some great views, particularly when ferries arrive. Leonidas was a great host who made the arrival and departure easy for us and was always there when we had a question. We had hired a family sedan which got us round the island just fine, definitely no problem getting to the house and the nine or so different beaches we visited, but if you want to explore all of Kea, you may be better of with a 4x4 as some beaches are hard to get to.

Fabulous
We have just returned from a wonderful week in this gorgeous house. The position up a track revealed a house open to amazing sunsets and tranquility. The house had everything we needed, with a great music collection ! The local beach was beautiful where we swam everyday. The only slight downfall was eating out, we found it quite expensive and the food was not great, so we bought fresh fish and had barbecues with the sun setting.. We would recommend this house to anyone couple or family it was great.

Hello, I am Maria! This house in Kea is my favorite place on earth that I created together with my husband with lots of love and have taken care of all the small details. I have spent here amazing vacations and moments with friends and family, have relaxed and enjoyed the privacy, the peacefulness and calmness of the location, the breathtaking sunset in just an hour away from busy Athens. My priority is that my guests will also share this unique experience and enjoy their days and nights in a place that offers unlimited view to the 'grand bleu', the small islands and the sunset and also a sweet home full of positive energy! Come as you are!

What makes this property unique

Kea is one of the least and last to be discovered islands in the Cyclades Archipelago. All the wild beauty of sea, rocks and sand is fully demonstrated in this island. But it's more to unveil: The inland, full of oak trees and numerous clear marked paths for trekking around the island.
And of course there is History: Witness one of the most well preserved neolithic settlements, the ruins of the Apollo and Athena temples, of the ancient port and the small ancient theater where pilgrims gathered to worship their Gods in Karthea, the most important religious location in the Cyclades after Delos. And don't forget to visit the Archaeological Museum in Ioulis!
