Orca whales, seals with their pups and river otter frequent the waters in front of you and from time to time the Brinnon Elk herd may visit the yard.

A new six-person jetted spa overlooking the water allows you to take it all in while relaxing in warmth and comfort. Large upper and lower decks provide a sweeping view of Hood Canal, Dabob Bay, Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker. Private stairs to the beach with a large dock allow you to play, swim, fish or take the provided canoe out for a ride. At low tide, approximately 29 acres of pristine tide-lands.

We also offer a second waterfront 5 bedroom home in Brinnon. That new home is called Seal Rock and is 3 miles away from Nature's Paradise. The Seal Rock home will be modeled after Nature's Paradise in amenities.

About Tammy Kreger

My husband and I bought this home in 2003 for the purpose of retiring early and living there. We're not ready to retire quite yet, and decided that we would really like to share this lovely home and the surrounding beauty with others!

I am proud and happy to say that I have lived in the Puget Sound area my entire life. One of my favorite pastimes is traveling. I have visited every continent, 60 different countries, and taken 44 cruises (so far!). Because I have spent so much time traveling, I truly have a good understanding of guests' needs and wants.

Even though I am happy to have seen so much of the world, I am always grateful to return to an area as gorgeous and diverse as the Pacific Northwest. I could choose anywhere in the world to retire to, but I have chosen Brinnon, Washington on Hood Canal for many reasons. Once you have visited this area, you will see why!

Tammy Kreger purchased this house in 2003

Why Tammy Kreger chose Hood Canal

I chose this particular property because of the outstanding sweeping view of Hood Canal and Dabob Bay. There is also a great view of Mt. Rainier and Mt. Baker.

My husband and I are big seafood fans and love all of the wonderful shellfish available to harvest near our home. We also like to take advantage of the private dock for setting out to shrimp, crab and fish.

We can't imagine a more beautiful environment to vacation in. It truly is 'Nature's Paradise!'; so we hope you'll come and enjoy it for yourselves!

What makes this house unique

The 29-acre privately-owned beach is fun to explore by foot (we provide rubber boots in many sizes). Explore the Dosewallips estuary by boat, you will probably see many seals, eagles, king fishers, osprey, etc. The tidelands also have many species of clams. Some of the best dungeness crabbing can be done directly in front of the home.

You are welcome to take the provided boat off the dock and put some crab pots in it to take out.You can simply paddle out a short distance and place the pots for fetching later in the day. My husband and I do so and catch our limits easily! Some of the best Hood Canal Spotted Shrimp are also caught in the waters in front of the home. Crabbing and Shrimp are seasonal.

It is also fascinating to watch the nuclear submarines practice in the waters out front of the home. Bird watching is another fun and relaxing experience from our 1,600 square-foot upper and lower decks, and from the dock.

The food resources available in the area are tremendous. Nearby there is clamming, oysters, crabbing, shrimping, sea run cutthroat fishing, salmon fishing, wild mountain blackberries, evergreen huckleberries, and mushrooms.

Often I enjoy watching the Brinnon Roosevelt elk herd graze in the Dosewallips pasture lands right from my decks. Sometimes the elk actually come to my yard and graze on my landscaping!

Pictures don't do this place justice. Fabulous house and PNW experience.

We rented this house for 3 nights in mid-September for a birthday weekend with friends and family. The location of the house if very easy to get to from the Seattle area. There are breathtaking views of a tidal plain in the Hood Canal. At low tide, you can see salmon jumping, seals, bald eagles, elk, etc in large numbers right from the porch. At high tide, it all disappears and you can kayak right from the house stairs. It was a wonderful variety to enjoy from land and sea. The living area is large and open which was great for our group (10-12 adults and a baby and dog) to share meals and relaxation activities. There is a beautiful fire pit (no use from us due to the current burn ban) and a hot tub. Easily parked 5 cars. More could be parked but not without blocking others. The bed room set up is one very large lofted master on the upper floor with full bath (open to living area below), one larger bedroom with king bed on first floor and full bath, and 3 bedrooms in basement with either 2x twins or pushed together twins to form king set up with another full bath. The bedrooms in the basement could be a little chilly but there are in wall adjustable heaters in each room that kept everything toasty. There is also a pull out couch in the first floor living room which was what you would expect. Some nice things about this rental compared to other homes we've rented are: extra full fridge/freezer in basement, full size kitchen equipment, full size and modern washer/dryer, DVD player with decent movie selection, glass topped furniture, dog bed, and supplies for enjoying the beach/clamming/crabbing. Overall, we would definitely stay here again and everyone was very happy!

What a view! Super cozy

  • 4 of 5

What a view! Super cozy. We felt very at home. The beds were so comfortable! Everything you would need to stay for a family reunion is there. Great location too.

The only complaint I have, is that the boats were too difficult for us to put into the water. We had really looked forward to fishing for salmon with our two grandsons, but we had to go rent a boat instead.

Great Family Fun!!

  • 5 of 5

We have had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful home six times and each trip we do new and wonderful things. Our family enjoyed crabbing and caught 14 Dungeness crabs. We cooked them up outside in the provided propane crab cooker, then had such a feast in the large dining room. All of us can dine together on the ten person dining room table with sweeping views of Hood Canal and Mt. Rainier. It is a pleasure to prepare food in the well appointed kitchen. Our family hiked to Mt. Walker and saw fantastic views that included sky scrapers in Seattle, Vancouver Is., Hood Canal, etc. We enjoyed exploring the canal and estuary by boat. The owner provides a canoe and row boat on their dock. At the end of the day we relaxed in the water view Jacuzzi. The home is very well maintained and very comfortable. We can't wait for our seventh stay.

Paradise was Lost and is now Found...

  • 5 of 5

The home is spacious and very well equipped, inside and outside. The setting is extremely beautiful. The wildlife is pretty much on cue everywhere you look (seals, elk, eagles to name a few). There was something for everyone, from young to old. Tammy is very helpful and very prompt in communication, following up on every question we had. The adults had a great time working together to gather oysters, clams and crab, and then relaxed mightily afterwards. The kids had a blast on the beach and in the boats and slept hard every night from hard play, fresh air and plenty of sunshine. Considering the heavy usage, the home is comfortable, clean and a wonderful, spacious playhouse for family vacation time! Tammy is one of the best owner-hosts we have every worked with ~ Thank you!

(PS. Just for those not familiar with Hood Canal: the beach is a rocky beach, there is lots of mucky sand in areas and lots of sharp oyster shells. Old tennis shoes or sturdy water shoes are essential. The stairwell leading to the beach is very steep and you have to tend little ones carefully. The river runs into the canal adjacent to the home, so that area is lots of fun for kids when the tide is out. You need to know your tide table if you are not familiar with the highs and lows of the Canal. We are familiar with Hood Canal, so none of this bothered us at all, but if you are new to the area, it is nice to know in advance ;- ) The beauty of the Canal, Tammy's large home and the ability to gather and feast on daily limits of fresh seafood far outweigh any minor negatives.

Owner's Response: We are so glad that your three generation group had such a fun stay. Our home is great for all ages. It is fun to harvest your own seafood and then prepare it in our well appointed kitchen. The entire family fits well around our Hood Canal view dining room table. It is thrilling to see the diverse wildlife right from the comfort of our home. I still enjoy seeing the Brinnon elk herd, bald and golden eagles, seals, osprey, otters, etc. Our beach is fun to play on. It is fun to explore the estuary by canoe or row boat which we have for your use on our dock. We feel very grateful that our home is popular. About 45% of our guests are repeat customers. We hope you and your family will be back for another stay at Nature's Paradise. Thank you, Tammy

My Family Enjoyed Crabbing and This Beautiful Waterfront Home!!

  • 5 of 5

My family have never crabbed before and had a great time catching and eating Dungeness crab. We caught 16 crab and cooked them in the provided propane outdoor crab cooker. You would not believe the taste of fresh caught crab, it is sweet, the texture is firm, and we all loved it. We had a great time cooking up our catch in the well appointed kitchen. There were plenty of plates, silverware, stemware, pots, pans, small appliances, etc. to accommodate our family of twelve (three generations). We also hiked, visited, nearby waterfalls, relaxed in the water view spa, hung out on the decks, beach combed, etc. We saw a lot of wildlife on the Dosewallips Estuary which we could see from the decks and dock. My family wants to return next year, we all had a blast.
