Wonderful experience
Traveled to Bar Harbor with friends for the first time. The best part of the trip was this house, beautiful and perfect location. Enjoyed Bar Harbor, ate lots of good food (lobster), just a little crowded for me. I highly recommend this rental.

Cozy Cottage in an Ideal Location
We were in town to explore Acadia Natl Park and also run the MDI races and this location was perfect. Close to town and also quiet and secluded in the trees. Everything we needed (and more) was at the house and our family of 6 slept comfortably in the 3 bedrooms.

Acadia trip
The property was perfect for a visit to Acadia National Park. On a quiet street, but close enough to Bar Harbor downtown. Lovely house. Easy access to the park

Great place
The pictures for the property don’t really do it justice. A lovely property in a great location for exploring Acadia. Great communication and some thoughtful touches made our stay superb. Thanks!

About the host

Hosted by Ben and Joan Baxter

Host profile image
Joan and Ben Baxter were married on a schooner in Bar Harbor in 1988.
Joan has been a nurse at MDI hospital since 1981 and Ben worked with the University Extension office in the area for five years before launching his own marine inventions company. Ben was part of the College of the Atlantic team that first located the feeding grounds for whales in this region. Go ahead, ask him a marine mammals question.

As Ben and Joan approach retirement, with children all launched now, this large home, much improved and added to, is larger than they need. This becomes their second Bar Harbor rental home. Experienced and very successful with rentals for a decade, they really know how to make you comfortable.

Ask them anything about MDI.
You are in good hands.

Why they chose this property

This location IS everything.
Walk to tennis courts at the foot of the hill.
