Overview

About the property

Great house, great view, deep water, great East Peninsula location w/ Wifi

This waterfront tri-level home was built in 2005. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home, located close to the end of the Peninsula on the east side of Possum Kingdom lake.

This is a private home with a wood burning fireplace, central air and heat, Wifi, beamed cathedral ceiling, multiple covered decks, and fabulous views of the lake from every room. (We turned the house plans around so the large windows face the lake.)

There are extensive custom stone patios with steps going down to the lake, a fishing pier and over 300 feet of private secluded shoreline. We are the last house on our road, with a wilderness area to the left and there's unlimited shoreline past our 300 feet, to explore.

Mexican saltillo tile floors with rugs are on the second and lower level, two fully tiled baths, central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, huge, well equipped kitchen, with microwave, range, dishwasher, washer & dryer, side by side refrigerator with water and ice in the door. The living area has flat screen cable TV, dvd player and stereo. There are carpeted bedrooms, (with a king, two queen sized beds and two roll away beds.) The over sized master bedroom has it's own TV, sitting area, huge paladin windows with a panoramic lake view, Master bath with jacuzzi, separate shower, twin sinks and a balcony for relaxing and taking in the views.

Everything you need has been provided to make your stay a pleasant one!

*Ten Good Reasons to Go To Possum Kingdom Lake Any Time of Year;

4.Trails for hiking, biking, and wildlife observation are all around the lake.

5.Don’t miss the annual Possumfest & BBQ Cook-Off the first weekend of October where almost everything but possum is being cooked!

6.Canoe or kayak along the John Graves Scenic Riverway below the dam or take an airboat ride up the Brazos River.

7.Watch the fireworks waterfall at Hell’s Gate during the Fourth of July celebration.

8.The best view by a dam site is at Observation Point located above the dam.

9.Anglers take your pick! You can fish for all kinds of bass, catfish, crappie, and even rainbow trout below the dam in winter.

10. It’s the Great Lake of Texas!

About Anna Blair

We started renting our home as a 'Vacation Home Rental' in 2015. We are retired and have a home in Fort Worth. When we are away we thought we would share our home with families that would love and respect our home as we do. Friends and family are what makes life rich, and each of our homes are filled with gatherings from our travels, good food and laughter. We designed the spacious home to utilize the beauty of the lake, the native trees, Palo Pinto mountain surround, and wildlife gathering spot. It's such a treat to see the herds of deer gathering in the evening by Sandy Beach!

Possum Kingdom will bring you back year after year. Noel and Anna Blair

Anna Blair purchased this chateau / country house in 2005

Why Anna Blair chose Graford

This home undoubtedly has the best deep water views on the lake!

We are close to the end of the Peninsula in a secluded area, teaming with wildlife and nature. Our home is located on a point with panoramic views in every direction! We offer covered porch decks, stone patio with adirondack chairs, huge window views of the lake, and a fully equipped, almost new home and satellite wifi.

Our waterfront has 350 feet of private shoreline, and unlimited, natural shoreline to the left, since we are the last property. We have a fishing pier and our secluded wooded, hillside lot is 1/2 acre.

You will find peace and relaxation at our place, in comfortable surroundings. Nature lovers will find plenty of wildlife. We have deer, wild turkeys, humming birds and of course, there's lots of fish and water birds!

A new hiking trail was recently put in which goes to Sandy Beach on the left. Just a short hike through the woods to reach deep sand and a playground, picnic tables and the lake. Of course everyone can swim at our place as well.

We are close to several public boat launches and boat rental facilities, if you are into boating, be sure to check out the cliffs of Hell's Gate. The lake offers a vast variety of natural lake views.

This is a great place for a family vacation or a place to unwind, relax and take in the natural beauty!

What makes this chateau / country house unique

When we built this home in 2005, we turned the back of the house around so it faces the road. The true front faces the lake, and is much more attractive than the back but we did that so most of the windows would face the view. We have arched windows in the master with a beautiful lake view and windows all across the lake side. This is a secluded, quiet, beautiful and relaxing place!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed here in April 2013 and had a great weekend. Anna responded very promptly and professionally to all questions and planning needs. The house was gorgeous and comfortable and very accessible to everything we needed within the area – lake, boat rental, golf, dining, grocery, etc. I would highly recommend.

Over priced, not clean and run down.

  • 2 of 5

Let’s start with the pros- beautiful view from the deck and comfortable beds.

Cons- checking in at 5pm, which is an unusually late check in and check out at 10:00 am. You lose an entire day but have to pay the full rate. When arriving at 5 pm the house was 84 degrees. They had not lowered the temperature knowing that the house heats up fast because it faces the West. It took until midnight to get the temperature down to a comfortable level.

- the living room fan was broken not helping with the heat and was covered with multiple cob webs all over it. There were tons of cob webs in all the corners and windows.

- the dock is very unsafe with the rails rocking back and fourth. The ladder was broken and not usable. The ladder has old rusted nails coming from it. I would recommend not using the dock until it is addressed and safe. This was another issue we felt left the house in a less the desirable condition.

- the steps down to the water/dock are loose and some broken. Be careful not to roll your ankle.

- old broken down grill and trash left on the property.

- multiple light bulbs out in the house.

- dirty/moldy dishes left in the cabinet.

- We were charged an extra 50.00 a night because she stated it only sleeps 6 but her listing states sleeps 8. She doesn’t like more then 6 because it is hard on the septic. We expressed our confusion on the extra cost but she stated it was in her listing. Speaking of septic the master toilet would not flush the last day we were there. We were really disappointed and explained this to the owner. She said she would let her house keeper know and that she had ordered a ladder. We ask to reduce the nightly rate due to the condition we found the house and the 50.00 extra a night because it doesn’t state this in the listing. She would not allow either. If she would have reimbursed us for the extra guest and maybe lowered the nightly rate after the constant issues we had expressed to her we would have felt better taken care of.

Please beware of the hidden charge for anyone over 6. I would not recommend this house in its current condition. I hope that she has discussed these issues with her house keeper and is working on the additional ones noted.

Owner's Response: As I told Kelcy, I was disappointed that she was disappointed. Some things are inevitable when you rent a property, especially in a remote area, such as light bulbs going out. There were and still are extra light bulbs in the master closet. We checked the house the day before she arrived, and the thermostat was set on 76. We did not turn it down or up, it was 76. I had the housekeeper turn it down to 72 when she complained, which she did continuously throughout their stay. Most people are not hypercritical, but she is, unfortunately. She had a legitimate complaint about the ladder, which a guest must have accidentally broken and I ordered a new dock ladder which will be installed Monday. I wish things could be fixed instantaneously, but they can't. I also ordered a new ceiling fan which will also be installed Monday, as a guest's child broke the current fan's remote. I bought a replacement remote and it was defective so I decided to replace it with a new Hunter fan. I had the house and deck sprayed for the tiny spiders. A guest apparently left the outside light on all night for a couple nights and spiders and other insects gathered around the light outside, (as would happen anywhere). The insects are now gone. The Master bedroom bath was clogged during the end of their stay (??) I had a plumber from Groves Mechanical come out and snake the drain, and it's now fine. The rest of the house was not clogged. I'm not sure what they put in there to cause the problem but it is now resolved. (The charge for one extra person over six people, did not cover the plumbing bill to Groves.) The spider spraying was $150, and the new dock ladder was $175. I tried to take care of all the issues she had, but she still is complaining...some people are just like that I guess. :(

Chateaux Blair

This was our fourth stay at this house and we, once again, had a great visit. The views of the lake from the back porch are just fantastic. We always enjoy the local hiking trails -especially when the weather is so perfect! The local grocery store (the Trading Post) is about 2 miles away and has just about everything you could need.

My wife and I spent the Thanksgiving Holiday at Chateaux Blair. This was our third stay here and once we again had a terrific time. The 3 bedroom house is very nice and the view of the lake is fantastic. The new and improved (larger) porch was a great idea and we spent lots of time just sitting outside enjoying the view. The sunsets we amazing!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the nice review, Greg! It seems that God, in his infinite wisdom, paints the sky glorious colors as the Fall colors of nature subside. I'm glad you both enjoyed the sunsets, which are even more spectacular when reflected by the lake. I hope you continue to remember our place when you need a place to get away for awhile. :) Best Regards, Anna

A network of Hiking trails have been completed, one of which is on our road. Turn right on the trail at the Trail- head and it's a short hike to Sandy Beach. Small children can play on the playground equipment, swim and play in the deep sand and gentle lake slope. Pack a picnic lunch, there are tables and grills.

Lots of deer and other wildlife abound (no hunting). P.K. is a great place to water ski, since the lake is 75 miles long! The Brazos River feeds the lake, and a short distance away are canoe rentals, where you can spend the day on the river.

Golfers can play at The Cliffs- one of the finest and most difficult golf courses in Texas and one of the most beautiful. The view of the cliffs and lake from the cliffs behind the club house is a must-see.

Or just stay at our home and relax, read, fish and/or swim. Watch the sea birds and deer, an occasional fox, wild turkey, etc., etc.

Come out and relax- you won't want to go home.

P.K. is approximately 75 miles west of Ft. Worth and the metroplex. Come out, sit under the stars and feel the stress slip away!
