About this property

This lowcountry jewel is one of the original Folly Beach cottages. There are three bedrooms(1 queen, 1 full, 2 bunks). 1 bath(updated in '12, and again in '21). Nice open floor plan. Heart of pine wood floors through out. Screened in front porch. Nice back yard, with a big backyard deck. Installed an outdoor shower, off the deck recently(11/21). Kitchen fully set up to cook if you like. There is a back door off the kitchen, that takes you onto to the large deck. There are built in benches, as well as a patio table and 4 chairs. We do have grill in the back yard as well. It's fun to sit out there, and listen to the sound of the ocean. Classic screened in front porch, with a couple of chairs, lamp for reading. Also have string lights on the inside of the front porch, around edge of ceiling.

The location of this home is why we purchased it. Although it sits in a nice, quiet part of the island. It's very close to everything you want access to. The beach is only a 3 short block, walk. Two blocks to Center St. where all the restaurants, and shopping are located on Folly. Folly Beach Park, for the kids, is within walking distance too. Tennis courts/Basketball court there as well. Bert's grocery market is within walking distance too!! Our home is on a full lot, with a nice back yard.
This home has the charm of the Lowcountry. Very comfortable and cozy. Home surrounded by palms, old growth hardwoods, and a trophy live oak, that is easily over 100 yrs. old.
This part of the island is also great for biking, or renting a golf cart while you are here. Enough room to park a boat trailer in the back yard. Up to 20' or so. Folly River Boat Landing is very close.

The Historic District of Charleston is only 20 minutes away by car.

March Getaway

Cottage is charming and in a perfect location near Folly Beach. Furniture is comfy and living area set up nicely for game playing and TV viewing on rainy days. Nightimes are very quiet and while it is an easy walk to the social scene, it is far enough away to avoid the noise. Close drive to Charleston and other area attractions. Lee was very responsive when needed. Cottage could use a thorough cleaning.

Sweet little cottage!

This location is perfect on Folly, late September is our favorite time to visit! Quick walk to anything you want/need! The home has a lot of old character. Clean, well stocked kitchen, fairly comfy beds, plenty of space for a small family, nice outdoor shower to rinse off from the beach, cute back deck to hang out on. Overall, a great place!

Love this place

This house has everything you need for a multi-day stay. I love the full kitchen, lots of sleeping space, and cozyTV room. On top of that, the best thing about this house is the excellent location just a couple of blocks from the beach and Berts. You don't have to drive anywhere once you get settled in, and it's such a lovely place to relax and take a mental break! I think my friends and I are going to make this house a part of our annual traditions. Thanks so much for the lovely accomodation!

Loved it!

We come to Folly Beach every year but wanted to stay somewhere a little quieter this time and we were not disappointed. The house had plenty of room for just two people and had everything we needed, plus it was quiet yet still only a couple of blocks from all the restaurants and the beach. We rented a golf cart, which was helpful but not even really necessary. We had a great experience and will stay there again.

I moved to Charleston, SC from Wilmington, NC. I went to school at UNCW, graduated with an Environmental Science degree. My path eventually led into working for real estate developers, which has taken me, up and down the coast from NC, to FL. I met my beautiful wife in Charleston, SC. We are now living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the city of Asheville, NC where we are raising our family. We love spending time with the family at Folly. Each trip, brings treasured memories.

Why they chose this property

When i first moved to Charleston, i rented a home on Folly Beach. It had such a great, laid back feel, unlike other beaches that i have lived before. The home i had rented, had a similar location to 303 E.Huron, close to center st., and a short walk down to the beach. When i was shopping for a home, those criteria were very important. I also love trees, and the old mature palms blowing in the breeze was also a very welcome sound to me. There is a trophy live oak(huge canopy) that is very indicative of the south, that greets you as you pull in to the home.

What makes this property unique

The walk down to Center St. is relaxing as you take in the scenery, and before you know it, you are in the middle of all the shopping, and great places to eat. The Folly Crabshack is a favorite for local seafood, or for twist, go to the new Taco Boy restaurant. A walk on the pier after dinner for ice cream is a given. The location is what you will like about this home, convenient to everything, but on a quiet street on Folly. Also to drive to downtown Charleston from here is very scenic, and only 20 minutes away.
