2 Bedroom very nicely decorated in simple but modern style apartment. The double bedroom faces the Atlantic with built in wardrobes and plenty of storage, The second bedroom has twin beds which can also be joined together again with built in wardrobes.The lounge/dining area is bright and very comfortable with large sofas 1 of which is a sofa bed if there is an additional child or adult, available to our guests is WiFi , cable TV and DVD player. With large french windows to enjoy the excellent view of the Lido and promenade. A well equip kitchen with a small balcony to the back and 1 granite bathroom with tub and over head shower. Also available is a secure indoor garage if our guest wishes to hire a car and have guaranteed parking space.

Terrific apartment on fourth floor with ocean vista. Well equipped and comfortable. Good restaurants nearby, large shopping mall, local bakeries and mini supermarkets. Bus a five minute walk, five minutes to city centre. There is parking on the street. Parking in the underground garage is awkward and quite stressful, particularly the ramp in and out. We are Canadians, drive a bit larger cars, and park in generous parking spaces. Maybe Europeans accustomed to small cars/spaces and tricky ramps would have little difficulty.

Disappointing

Left after 2 days. No heating ( although in descriptions) and very cold during a storm.spent 2 evenings wrapped in blankets. Amenities not close or easily accessible. Mould in bathroom( photos available)

Owner's Response: Dear guest, Thank you for your review. Communication goes very far... I always ask my guests to contact me in case they need anything no matter how small or big we always try to make our guests experience comfortable. With us having so many days of rain and humid weather (That week with red alert for gale force wind and down pours) no wonder there was slight mould in the bathroom. Yes the temperature had gone down but all that was required was a quick email or text and I would've been there with a heater. Amenities are on the road below and less than 5 minutes walk. Stayed 3 days out of 5.

Nice, good size apartment in good location

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is quite spacious with 2 double bedrooms and very nice living/dinning room. Lovely view from the lounge. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty of towels and toilet paper. Kitchen was well equipped, again plenty of kitchen towels provided. Cath is a lovely landlady, very helpful. She left us some local fruits to try.

The location is great, we walk to city centre every day. There are few supermarkets nearby as well as eating places.

Lovely apartment in good location

We really enjoyed our week in the apartment. Its spacious, well equipped, comfortable and quiet with wonderful sea views. The location is convenient for local shops, restaurants, a post office and other facilities. Its also only a short walk to several bus stops so accessing central Funchal and the southern, central and eastern parts of the island is easy. A car is probably needed for reaching the more remote northern and western parts unless organised trips are used. Cath was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would recommend the apartment to family and friends and certainly use it again ourselves.

Great location, great home, great host

We stayed in early January, so the off-season, such as it is. The town was still full of visitors, and I could see Funchal being a mad-house. That makes this location even better. The home is located walking distance to plenty of great restaurants, bars, shopping, without being in the middle of it. Perfect spot to have a little calm and quiet, but having access to everything you'd want. The home is clean, cute, modern, with an amazing view. The picture of the rock and the sea is entirely accurate. That's your view from the couch. The house has security access, quiet neighbors, and is really comfortable.

Our host arranged to have us picked up at the airport, deposited at the home, and met us there. Check in was really flexible, we arrived in the morning, left late in the afternoon. Maybe this is different when it's busier, but we really appreciated having the host work around our flights, and not requiring arbitrary check in and out times. She was super friendly, responded to questions promptly, including general tourist inquiries.

I'd really recommend this place and our host Kath. Great experience in a great place.

Lovely apartment on top floor of four storey block.

This apartment has a fabulous view, overlooking the sea, and is in a relatively quiet area of the town. There are numerous bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the apartment itself is spotlessly clean and well furnished. There is an allocated car space in the basement carpark, although it is a bit fiddly trying to park in it. Any car larger than a 'compact' would have difficulty fitting into the space.

Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, and the kitchen, although small, has plenty of crockery and utensils.

Would thoroughly recommend staying in this apartment.

Situated on the 4th floor of a well-appointed small block of apartments, very airy and with a bright environment you can relax and enjoy the views while being only a short walk from a the well known Lido area, with all the amenities, plenty of restaurants and entertainment or if you like evening strolls we are only 5 minutes from the promenade and sea water swimming pools with also a children s area. . . Only a 2 minute walk to a bus stop / 10 minutes by bus to Funchal center/harbor
