The View Is Amazing
The owner of the property was on site and interested in helping with suggestions for activities. The house is specious and the bed was very comfortable. The overall impression of the property is a Man Cave as he often uses the house for groups doing Motorcross. There are great opportunities for sports including frisbee golf, ping pong, video games, etc. There kitchen had good quality appliances including a dishwasher. Organization in the kitchen was unclear, but there were many condiments and spices available for limited use. However, the view while standing at the stove was incredible. This was a good location for catching the jet boat that goes through Hell's Canyon on the Snake River.

The good: nice house and incredibly beautiful views The bad: Our 4 night stay ended up costing almost double the price per night as indicated on the reservation site. Price is completely misleading. As stated in the listing there’s a full time resident at the property with 2 dogs so I’m sure I scooped more poop than my dogs produced. He lives in the house when not booked but moves into an RV right behind the house. So again I’m sure I vacuumed more dog hair than my dogs may have shed. They tout a mx, atv, utv track for riding but you have to sign a waiver due to “the Associations” numerous lawsuits. The place really could use a ladies touch, some better lighting, decor etc. would go a long way to make it feel more like a mountain cabin. The stove is so outdated you really can’t read the temperature on the oven, so cooking in it is really a guessing game. For the size of the house and the views I would recommend, but as for the reasons stated above I would not recommend.

Owner living on site was less than welcoming and made it uncomfortable.
Our stay started with the owner walking on to the private deck unannounced and informing us that we were lucky to be staying there; it is his personal home and he really doesn't like renting it out. He goes on to tell us about stuff other people have done and made us feel on edge and unwelcome. The rest of the time there was awkward because the owner was outside and round the property every day. My wife and I had booked this place as our one get-away from our 5 kids (with our 12-week-old puppy). After we had it booked and were in route, they requested a nightly pet fee that was not stated on the listing. We paid a significant cleaning fee but the owner expected us to do all the cleaning. We washed the sheets and towels we used (using detergent we had to purchase). When departing, I put the few remaining breakfast dishes in the dishwasher and started it and he expressed dissatisfaction that they weren't all done. The kitchen cookware and utensils were like staying in a college kids house. For example there wasn't anything sharper than a butter knife to be found. There was no hand soap in any of the bathrooms and no laundry detergent. There is no gas-grill or BBQ so plan on cooking indoors. The listing indicates there is WiFi but there is not. Cell service is minimal with Verizon. It is a 10-minute drive up a steep, windy, but well-maintained gravel road to get to the house (your car will be dirty). Note that Goggle maps it further up the road than it is. There is a large metal gate with cattle guard you have to open and close every time you come and go. His dogs on site made it uncomfortable for our puppy as they are a bit aggressive and bark every time you go outside. I found myself sneaking around trying to not let his dogs see/hear me when taking our dog outside to potty. On a positive note, the view at this place is great. It is in pretty good condition and was fairly clean. The air-conditioner worked great on 100-degree days. The big second story deck off the living room is great in the evening.

We had a great time! Views were spectacular. WiFi wasn't great but we were aware of that before we arrived.
